"Sounds good," Jordan agreed with Jason's plan, flashing him a quick smile. The trainees' defense was proving to be very valuable indeed, and while it was hard to tell if the attack on the huge creature was affecting it much, it was good experience for them. "Thanks, guys." The bird swooped low, and he swung Ferros up and over into its claw as the trainees fended it off. Even a glancing strike from its claw was painful, though. Something seemed to be happening with Sammy, and Jordan wasn't sure what it was. "Let's get back some," he told Joy and Jason, just in case whatever was about to go off had range. HP: 17 Dmg: 11 x2 = 22 +4 = 26 Charge: 0/3 Boss HP: 416

Returning the hurried smile, Jason saw a quick glimpse of Sammy's weapon doing...something, before he ducked to escape the bird's raking claws, standing and moving backwards to keep a eye on the monster while waiting for Jordan to retreat to the medical tent before following him in. There was no time for anything permanent, the moon rushing around once inside and grabbing whatever bandages he could find, a few other life techs assisting him in covering up the wounds Jordan had sustained. Jason frowned at some of the injuries, carefully wrapping them up without putting too much pressure on the wounds.

He had no idea what it was supposed to do, but he used it anyway, under the life techs directions.

Jordan ducked into the tent and sat obediently still to be attended to, letting Jason and the other techs attend to the task of bandaging. They were more efficient at it than he'd been. In a way, he'd been through a meat grinder, maybe; it was just a particularly animate one. Once they were done, he got up, rolling his shoulders experimentally and checking with Ferros, smiling at the sensation of a near-full shield. "Thanks, guys," he said, genuinely grateful. He followed Jason back outside and summoned again. The Moon was proving to be very competent at his task, and when the bird swooped low again, they were able to hit it with only a passing swipe from a "feather." HP: 51 Damage: 8 x2 = 16 +4 = 20 Charge: 1/3 Boss HP: 396

The hunters had retreated leaving Sammy alone for a moment as she tried to figure out what was happening. Was there something she had to say or do? The shield on her arm continued to groan like something about it was going to break. She was continuing to dwell on this when something finally did snap. Invoke
The outburst of FEAR was unexpected, the ground around her frosting over as the temperature plummeted, even as it did the pendant of her artifact sword appeared on her hip again, the rune glowing dimly for a moment suddenly bursting to life brighter than before as the bone shield started to split, layered crowns like the head of some giant beast formed into a large kite shield. Her sword suddenly appeared again in her left hand. Purple flames rippled around her as the frost continued to spread out around her. The very essence of her core burning in frosted flames that leaked from the shield and poured out from her empty eye sockets.
“Holy s**t.” She risked a glance back at the hunters before her gaze turned back to the beast. It was swooping down for another blow, the large shield in play now, Sammy moved to block the attack, the giant beast crashing its talon into her, but not moving her as the flames burst around her twisting and turning as they took the hit but didn’t stagger.
Without even aiming she swung her sword wide, the flames racing to follow the arc of the blade before a blast of her own fear lanced out from the swing scraping the beast is it drove by leaving a twisting path of frosted flames lingering in its ********. Yes.”

"That's new," they commented, eyebrows raised at the spectacular display of magical weaponry, the icy flames that burst to life around Sammy and her artifacts.

The ghoul wasn’t spent yet either, but it was clear even with whatever happened to her she was running low on FEAR to keep on pushing. The frost continue to creep around her as she stomped towards the beast again. Shield and sword raised she bashed the two together setting off another burst of purple flames, much like the flares, distracting the beast.
“COME ON. LET’S GO”
Her taunts worked and the beast dove again, once more she weathered the blow knocking it aside with the larger shield. Even as she did though something tugged at her, a reminder of what was stored in the artifact its self. She brought her blade low cutting a line in the dirt as she brought it forward swinging almost like an upper cut as another blast of FEAR, more focused then the first crashed into the beast.
But the cost was catching up, as soon as she was done she staggered, dropping to a knee propping herself up barely with her own sword. She might have shrugged the blow and retaliated, sure, but her FEAR shield its self along with her natural fear was still taking the hit even if she didn’t react to it till now.

With a loud and resonant screech the huge bird lit up all over, glowing with what looked like vast runic energy. It was bright enough to dazzle both the hunters and the horsemen who'd been fighting off its relentless assaults. And then, with a roar of energy that began quiet and grew and grew, it opened its beak. What followed was a hail of destruction which spread to engulf everything, including the hunter and horseman camps as it renewed its assault with the aid of what seemed to be a fear attack of tremendous power. The barricades put up were meant to keep out the energy not this and the hunters were forced to retreat empty handed. The call to leave went out over the headsets and the camp was vacated. The horsemen were in the same position, forced to leave, opening the portals back to their base and the tower. They did not leave empty handed though, even as they departed the furious beast that protected the temple, Artax returned with the spoils of the temple in hand. They left triumphantly, a glowing artifact in their possession. When the intruders finally left and all trace of their camps was returned to as much of a ruin as the ancient temple itself, the bird returned from whence it came to guard its empty vault for another thousand years. It had no interest in tourists. Quote: END Sorry for the late wrap, my work takes up so much time.
