It was... sort of relieving at least, to be fighting with all the other Chosen there. As in.... with them. Not against. A common enemy to take down together. Even if this one was an immense monster.

Sid watched as Rob managed an impressive strike against the bird, his sword clattering against it. Okay so, he really did know how to handle his sword, but that by no means got him off the hook for missing before. Sparring would need to be a thing, probably, if they all made it out of this. Setting herself up near him, but not in his path of damage, she pulled another arrow and released it for a far more satisfying hit this time. There'd been a time when she thought she had some proficiency with the weapon she possessed. Now though she was beginning to think she was wrong. It seemed all her attacks were weak and she frowned. It was just getting a lot harder to see, Ernst told himself. That was it. That explained everything. There was poop in his eyes!
Okay, there wasn't currently poop in his eyes. So that meant - wait. That space was free. Ernst darted forward and swung his shield mightily, hoping to hell that it connected. He had at least heard some metal on the other end, which was good. Score, Nzikobankunda.

Maybe her temper was finally starting to simmer? Mercy was breathing heavily even as she kept smashing her hammer into the poor bird's leg. One way or another this damned thug was about to go down so she could go home.

Zebulon pushed his body forward in an attempt to put more force into this next shield bash, despite his weakening arm. It vaguely hit him that he should switch what arm he was swinging with, and so switched the shield to his off hand while letting his correct hand sit for a moment. Another swing, and this time he managed to hit the damn bird. So maybe he didn't need a rest. Maybe he just needed to actually hit the bird enough to feel less -- whatever.
And also to burn every stitch he was wearing, and his glasses. He'd order more handkerchiefs, too.

Brian felt as if his archery had definitely improved in his time on the mountain. It was unfortunate that it had come to that, but he was glad that he was able to do more damage to this giant buzzard than he had with that first bird. Hopefully this one wouldn't fly into a pain-blind fury when it started to go too.

Apparently Sylvia was on a roll. She wasn't sure if it was the adrenaline, the camaraderie, or just dumb luck, but she was thankful when she reared back and felt herself connect again when she forged forward.

She needed to learn more curse words, clearly. The ones running through her head weren't improving anything. Once more the whip only glanced off the creature's body. For all the practice she'd done, for all the connection she felt with this weapon, now it seemed she couldn't hit at all. Marisol's Health: 43 HP
