@chyra: Are you part of the LLL? You sound like someone who would be. I know that when we have a kid that we will be looking around for the nearest LLL to be part of.
@LadyElla64: I've been thinking about getting DDR, primarily as a form of fun exercise. But they only have versions for PS2 and XBox. And then you have to buy the pad as well. I really wish that you could play off of the computer. That would be nice, to just hook up the pad to a USB port and have at it. But buying a PS2 and pad just so I could play DDR doesn't seem worth it to me. Perhaps I'll change my mind later on.

lunashock *sigh* I wish I had anything but dialup, it's all we can afford. My cable connection only costs $25CDN a month :3 Pretty cheap compared to what my parents were paying when we first got it... twice that!! About breastfeeding, I couldn't do it . If I ever have another baby and could breastfeed then... I wouldn't do it. It is great, but it really frustrated me. Sore, cracked, bleeding and then scabbed over nipples isn't my idea of fun. Breastmilk is the best, but formula is ok too. I am not offended in the slightest of women breastfeeding in public. Only if they were to flash everyone for longer than it took to get the baby latched.

Definately sign up for any classes they have in your area and get to know the consultants in your area. I called them in tears and within two hours Pat (the LLL lady in my area) was at my door and sat with me and helped me position the baby right and anwer my million questions. By watching me she was able to correct the "incorrect" techniques the harried nurses in the hospital had shown me. If you're thinking of bfeeding and think you'll learn everything you need to know from the nurses in the hospital or your own "natural intstinct" all I can do is pat you on the back and say "oh, honey." Nothing came natural to me and the nurses were too busy to help and when I forced them to they showed very WRONG ways to go about it. LLL is the way to go!

Yeah, the reason we have cable at home is that after a multi-line discount from the cable company it is comparable to dial up with AOL. BTW, I hate AOL and can never see why anyone would do that to themselves if they know better. But there are a lot of price wars going on right now between the cable company and SBC over high-speed internet which is driving down the costs. Thank goodness. I just couldn't have a dialup mainly because at times I transfer files back and forth between here and work that are large. Some of my files are too big for the cable network since the don't let anything over 10 Mb get through. I would be waiting all night for the file if I had a dial up. Ouch. I can see why you feel the way you do about bfing. It has been shown recently that feeding your child formula does increase health risks later in life, but I seriously doubt that it is enough to really worry that much about. I would chalk that up to American paranoia. I didn’t read the study myself, just heard about it quite a bit in the news for a couple of weeks. I’m sure that we would have heard more if it was anything really substantial.

Internet connection: I have cable. I love the speed, but hate the price. I wish it was cheaper (like DSL). Ah well.
BFing: I tried with my son, but I quickly got frustrated from the pain and from my milk not coming in. I had really wanted to BF, but it just didn't work out for me. Perhaps I shoulda called LLL, but I didn't know to at the time. So when my daughter came around, I just started her off on formulas from the get-go. I found out about LLL only after I had settled on formula with the kids.
And I think it's discriminatory and absurd that any woman should face ridicule for BFing in public! If it bothers someone, they don't have to look. I am totally supportive of BFing moms (my sister-in-law is one). I hope that lady from Burger King does sue. It would serve those overly-sensitive, unrealistic jerks right.

I'm all for bfing moms, honestly. I guess its my misfortune to run across the rude ones. sweatdrop I'm a very personal person in real life and horribly conservative with body parts showing. I ran across so many bfing moms who didn't care if they were hanging out or not. I support them honestly and I am fine with it as long as they use a blanket. I realise that its my problem, but it wasn't just the fact they didn't cover up. It was all the children running around that they expected to not look. stare I'm probably just weird, but I thought it was rude. I want to try bfing with my next in the distance child, but I definitely plan on covering up.

(Which is all I have because I'm poor and not much of a gamer. sweatdrop ) But it's kinda hard to find. You might wanna order it online. E-bay, or something.

chyra @Akilla: Thank you! @LadyElla: That sounds like it was fun! Thank god for 24hr Wal-Mart huh? How do you get DDR to play? I also wanted to tell you that I agree with your thoughts on breastfeeding 100%. I am also glad that you are raising your child according to your feelings and not according to what other's think you shoud be doing? heart Also... On the subject of giving up a B-feeding. My first child only got B-feed for 3 months. I learned more about it and had more experience with my other kids. So I was more sucessful with my other kid's. So if you had problems feeding one child that way. Go ahead and try again. You might just do better the second time around. 3nodding
