The pain was...indescribable. It felt as if both shoulders were going to fan out from his body as they burned, and now both sides were engulfed in flame. As he got struck he gasped in pain and dropped his blade. He watched the blacksmith take up a defensive stance and he observed his blade. To the untrained eye there was nothing wrong. To Rota's artisan gaze however, he saw a nick on one of the serrations along the blade. The tips of the flames in his newly discovered torso faults were beginning to turn black as it mixed with Rota's light and rage. using all of his will, he grabbed his sword, now bereft of an aura his face twisted into a mask of rage more fierce than he had ever felt before. His roar was blood curdling as he ran towards the Demon Blacksmith, shouldering Neo Abyssian in his open right shoulder wound as he ran, and as he got there pitched his body back and brought his blade forward at full force into the Demon. No one harms his sword and lives.

~Congratulations!~

You have defeated the Demon Blacksmith!

As your blade approaches, the Demon Blacksmith's hammer crashes into it, but is not enough to stop your assault. The Demon's healthbar drops to 0% and disappears as the monster steps back several feet, dropping its hammer to the ground, cracking the stone floor. Leaning on its sword, the Demon looks at the blade as it cools. "I... I could not do it. The blade... It's ruined. You have ruined everything..." He looks at the ground. "I was supposed to forge a weapon unlike any the planes had known... But in the end, I was defeated by a half-breed..."

The Demon looks at Rota. "You. Half-breed. You are a powerful warrior. Your blood would have made an incredible weapon... But now..." The Demon coughed. "The breath of the Blacksmith, and the blood of a warrior... These are the things that give the blade its spirit... I am no great warrior... But maybe..."

The Blacksmith looks at Rota, fire in his black eyes. "I am the last of my clan... But our secrets will not die with me. They cannot."

The monster draws a mighty breath, seeming to drain all of the air from the room. A fiery glow was seen in the Demon's chest, and it let loose a mighty roar. Fire bathed Rota, and his entire world was heat and light. The fire scorched Rota's flesh, and a the air was sucked out of his lungs, silencing any screams. For a short moment, Rota's lungs were empty, but then the fire poured into his open mouth and nostrils. As the flames surrounded the half-demon, he fell to his knees, the last of the flames pouring into his lungs, disappearing down his throat.

The Demon was turned gray, and his flesh was cracked and dry. He had turned to ash. "The blood of the warrior... and...." His breath left him, and the wind began to carry him away, piece by piece, as he crumbled into a gray pile of ash.

Rota's lungs burned, and he clutched at his chest, coughing harshly through his charred throat. Each fit showered the ground with sparks, and the inside of his mouth glowed with the light of flame. A mark of Light appeared on his body, and he began to feel the burn subside slowly. Each inhalation caused the glow to brighten, but as he continued to breathe, the fire faded, and he felt his breathing return to normal.

This power...Rota hadn't felt anything like it. He had not only felt the fire consume him, but also BECOME him. The fire had long since gone out after the air was sucked from the room, but the pain still remained. He had no idea such a thing could happen. He lost all strength and began to use his own blade as a walking stick. He looked at his left hand and saw a circular mark with a hammer consumed in flame inside it.The glow was a deep red. It must have been the brand of the Blacksmith. Despite taking more extreme measures to get what he wanted than necessary, he would do what he could to continue the legacy of that demon. He inspected the blade as much as he could in his condition, and murmured to himself as he leaned in close, coating his hand in blood, running it down the length and speaking onto the blade "The breath of The Blacksmith" He turned to Alyxandeyr and shifted his annihilated shoulders as best he could. "So, How are you feeling?"

Alyx watched the fight unfold, and saw Rota slay the Demon Blacksmith. He'd taken some hard hits, but he'd been dealing much more damage to his opponent than he was incurring, so Alyx just stood back and observed. With the final strike, the Demon fell back and began to bathe Rota in fire. When things had subsided, Alyx grinned. "I'm doing quite alright. We're finally done... Yourself?"

Rota began shambling towards his brother in arms, an all new fire inside him. he took one last look at the room and the sword, a little sad he could do nothing about it just yet. Such was fate. He looked at Alyx and nodded. "It's time we got out of here."
