Tesunie, I was smiling as I read your post. smile I know we no doubt have a few lovable pirates with more or less good hearts. Shame Jas doesn't know any of them yet. Maybe that will change.

And Trance, I'm not quite sure Jas is bold enough to stow away on any ship at this point. One can only hope that one day he will be. Currently, I see him either talking his way on, so he would confront of the Coalition Captains with a "You need me and this is why (insert important information that only he has currently)" and talks his way on. Or someone figures out that he knows something important and they just take him. If this happens, I figure any ship could do it, Coalition or pirate. Either way he lands on a ship and whichever ship he lands on is fine with me It will be interesting to see him grow in any environment.

I've been kicking around ideas for a starting post for him. I just want to make sure I have enough of the story and enough of a plot idea as to what he sees/knows/etc so I know where to put him. As far as I'm able, I like to keep my posts pushing plot forward in some way or other. So I think once I know what it is that he finds out and where it is, I'll be able to get something up for him.

I have to say, Trance Harper, I do like your design style. It was very challenging. Actually, I'd dare say creating a design based off of and to work with someone else's design was a wonderfully enjoyable challenge. And probably more of a challenge than any design I was asked to create for my Graphic Design degree in College...

So, what do people think? Too much maybe? Could it use something more?

And yes, I'll be updating my old RP post to this format shortly (once I know I have all the bugs out).

Degree is just nothing more than a piece of paper. You're really good for someone who only dabbles. I also suspect that you have some brush styles for photoshop (or your preferred program) that I do not have available (or don't know I have). Your faded brush style is different. I just did a clipping mask with a feathered brush...

Felt good to do a little design work. I don't do much of it at the moment. (No job to match the degree. I'm just a lowly cashier....)

Me saying terminology you don't know doesn't mean you don't know what you are doing (or that I know what I'm doing any more than you do). I still love all the design work you did for this role play so far.

Feathered: Making an edge on a graphic "blurred".
Clipping Mask: A layer you can place over another layer that makes it so only the elements you wish to have visible is showing. (Kinda like the bottom wind chime I have where Gerald's face is showing and the picture is in the shape of the wind chime. The wind chime image was a clipping mask over the photo of Gerald. Consider it like taking two pictures, cutting one out as a stencil, and then placing that stencil shape over your other image.)
Layer: A layer is a different "plain" in your design within the program. Like, placing different sheets of paper (photo's, drawings) on top of one another. The top papers (layers) are visible, but block lower ones from being seen.

By the way, the Absolute Bearing needs a captain... Preferably played by someone "in the know" about the story and story plot events. (Could be bad if someone who doesn't know what the intended plot is plays captain... as that could cause certain orders to disturb the plot!)

Can't wait to see what you have devised... But, why can't you post it up sooner? Just wondering. Story reasons I take?
