Tami laughed, "right, 'bam'." she shook her head, "sounds like a date to me. thanks, Dale, i'd be happy to accept." she gave him a warm smile, before it turned into a grin, "sorry, Sarad, looks like i'm stealing your da-" she blinked a few times when she looked around and saw he wasn't there, "we lost the beauty queen!"

Sarad watched them talk and it seemed like Dale had gotten a 'yes'. good for him! when he saw Tami looking for him, he stood and hurried up, "sorry, shoe came untied. what did i miss?" he lied easily.

"I stole your roommate," Tami said happily. "now we just have to find you a date so you aren't all lonely. how about Megan? she's nice, and she goes for the pretty boys. 'sides, she's all broken up after that jerk dumped her. ripe for the pickings. what do you think, Dale? should we hook them up?"

Sarad's eyes widened, "you don't have to find a date for me!" but Dale was getting in on it too. "how could i? i've never even spoken to her, let alone going with her to a dance!"

Tami nodded, "it's settled," she said, ignoring Sarad, "you bring him to practise tomorrow and we'll get them introduced." she put an arm around Sarad, "don't worry, i'll talk you up to Kayleen and get her all excited to meet you. then you can take care of the rest."

"take care of what?" Sarad asked, panicking, "what's the rest?" he looked to Dale for help, "i can't possibly-the dance is next week! how can i get to know someone in so little time?"

Sarad looked between the two of them and gave up, knowing there was no way he would be able to change both of their minds. "i-i guess i have no choice but to accept."

Tami pinched Sarad's a**, making him give a high pitched little squeal, which was quite adorable. "go boys go and buy, i'll chat with Kayleen, ok?" she winked before heading off to the girl's dorm to find her larger friend.

Sarad jumped when he felt a hand on his butt, his own hand automatically covering the small area she's reached, "if this Kayleen is anything like her, i won't survive," he muttered as Tami left, Sarada his head as he looked at Dale, "shall we head back?" he asked as casually as he could

Sarad had forgotten about the bet with everything that had just happened. he accepted the money and looked at it curiously, but it was good timing. he wouldn't have been able to afford a ticket without it. "i guess i should be buying tickets as well," he said softly, folding the twenty and putting it in his pocket. "it's no use to be a sore loser, you know." he was worried about this Kayleen girl, but he felt like Tami wouldn't leave him alone unless he went along with it. he just hoped they would be compatible. "i'm still not sure about this. i don't know if it is the best of ideas to pair me with someone, if my uncle found out-" his hands clenched tightly. would his uncle be angry or proud? would he accept Sarad going to a dance with a girl or think it a waste of time and punish him again? "i don't know-" he whispered, feeling sick.

Sarad nodded, "that sounds morbid, but it sounds like my uncle. i can see him marrying for reasons like that." he sighed and decided to just not tell him. how could he find out? yes, they took pictures for the yearbooks, but his family saw that as an unnecessary expense and refused to buy them, so what was there to worry about? "thank you, Dale. it is nice to know that i have some support." he smiled, this one a little more true than his last and sighed, "i might go to the sewing club with you. i don't know if what i have will be good enough for an actual date. i don't want to disappoint her..." he looked down at himself and wondered how he could not be a disappointment. long hair, too skinny, a pretty boy through and through. what girl would want that?

Sarad just nodded, though he did understand the differences in styles and fashions, he'd been raised to by his family. "i might have something that will work," he muttered to himself as they walked up to the office where the tickets were being sold. "a couple's pass, please," Sarad said to the lady behind the desk and she pulled one out, her eyes sliding from Sarad to Dale curiously. "thank you," Sarad didn't notice the look, he was focused on the pass in his hand while he got five dollars back as change.

Sarad blushed as he looked at Dale in horror, what had brought that up? and when did Tami become his girlfriend, let alone ask him for birth control? he moved away, clutching his pass and change, still in surprise for all that Dale had asked.

the lady lifted an eyebrow, "your girlfriend will have to go to the nurse herself. you cannot buy it without a prescription and i doubt you have one." she gave him a tight smile and was quick with his change. "the flowers can be bought from one of the student council members or at the student council office during lunch or after school." she gave him his pass and his money, "have a nice day."
