"AURGH!" Ike hit the ground hard and tried to scramble backward. He then realized he had yelled and dropped his voice, "Who the Hell...REID?!"
The squirrel boy's eyes grew wide, disbelieving. It couldn't be Reid. Reid was tiny. Maybe it was another one of those dreams...or maybe his illusionary skill had gone haywire?

Reid scrambled up sat on his best friend's chest and stifed the urge to cheer. He hadn't reverted!
It wasn't a dream... or a trick or something equally stupid and awrful.
"It's true," he laughed happily and hugged Ike fiercely. "I wanted to show you but I really wasn't really sure I wasn't dreaming but falling hurt and you feel real, and it seems like you see it too, so it HAS to be real!"

Ike sat up abruptly, his jaw hanging slack, before gathering Reid up in his arms and squeezing the lightning bug boy like never before.
"You're bigger!" was all he could say. He buried his head in Reid's neck, listening to his pulse.
Ah, it'd been so long since he could hug his best friend without fear of squishing. Too long, really. Ike had, of course, had the same fear that this entire event may have been a dream, but no. It felt too real.
And with that thought, he started crying.

Reid laughed, nodding against Ike's neck, "mhmm," he murmured, relished in the feeling of being hugged without the other person holding back and being able to hug them and know that they felt it. Regardless of the fact that it hurt and made breathing hard, he didn't murmur any sort of complaint, merely clung back, curling up against his best friend.
The warm drips at his neck dragged him out of his happy, breathless stupor and he wiggled a bit, trying to get a better look at Ike's face.
"Ike? What's the matter?"

Ike grinned, looking Reid's face over.
"Nothing," he laughed and sniffled, "I'm just happy." If you had asked him a day ago, he would have said that happy tears didn't exist. Now, though, he was quite sure that they did.

Reid grinned and his glow snapped back on in true lightbulb fashion as he hugged Ike again. There was something about Ike's smile, wet as it was, that made him forget the Elena woman and the fact that everything still hurt, everything bad went away and all he wanted to do was celebrate with his best friend.
He wriggled and escaped Ike's grip, scrambling into a standing posistion and promptly grabbing back Ike's hand, taking a split second to marval at pulling at someone and watching them be tugged.
"Let's go somewhere, outside! Let's go outside!" he said, briming with excitement.

Ike wiped his eyes with his free arm (which was a feat in and of itself) and nodded, laughing again.
This was just what he needed.
"Alright. Let's go outside," he agreed and peered forward, planning to allow Reid the joy of dragging him down the stairs.

Reid grinned and tugged Ike forward, pausing to glance towards the balchony.
As excited as he was if he dragged Ike off the balchony and tried to fly them to the ground either; his best friend would have a small heart attack or they'd crash. Or both would somehow happen at once.
The stairs were the safer option. This time.
His wings gave a compulsive flap before he shook his head firmly and dragged Ike down the stairs towards the exit.

Ike stumbled down the stairs, occasionally making a small noise of "oh my god I'm going to fall on my face", although in not so many words. Upon reaching the exit, he rushed forward and opened the door, dragging Reid after him.
He stopped abruptly, though, and closed his eyes, tilting his head toward the sky. He enjoyed the cool way-too-late-night breeze and sniffed the air.

Reid merely grinned back at Ike everytime one of the noises broke their footsteps. Trying to reassure his friend that he wouldn't let him fall.
When they got outside Reid ran forward a few steps ahead of Ike and hopped into the air, testing the way the air felt beneath his larger wings. It was different and he kept low to the ground as he turned and headed back to Ike. When a small wind drifted past, and, used to fighting it, he overcompensated and had a very small crash landing.
The firefly rolled and laughed off the small fall. Scampering back up he spread his arms stared at the sky.
"It's so much closer now..." he murmured before pivoting on his heel and tackling Ike once again.
"You're it!" he chirped and raced off.

Ike cried out at being tackled, but soon recovered and leaped to his feet.
"I'm coming!" he laughed and dropped to all fours, bolting after Reid and attempting to cut him off at a turn. He failed, though, and was forced to further pick up speed.

Reid glanced back and grinned at Ike.
Realizing he was going to get caught soon he spun around and leapfrogged over his friend, flapping his wings a bit to make sure he didn't accidently whack Ike in the face.
He landed a few feet away and ran off again, laughing happily.

"Cheater!" Ike laughed and turned abruptly, tearing clumps of grass and dirt from the ground. He ran a few more paces and then sprang forward, arms out toward Reid.

"Cheating? How was that cheating?" Reid called, still laughing, and looked back as Ike launched forward. He stumbled on a step in surprise, lost speed trying not to fall on his face, and was tackled by the squirrel.

Ike sat atop Reid, although he dealt most of his weight to his legs, holding himself up.
"Because I say so," he snickered, feeling an obscene amount of happiness and that odd tingly feeling leap up into his chest. He stuck his tongue out at his best friend and rolled off.
"My legs hurt," he stated simply and stretched his bent squirrely legs out straight.
