Varuna could feel herself slipping away. She was exhausted and really didn’t think she could get back up, so when the young man asked, she slowly shook her head. For a moment between the attacks being thrown at them and this strange, chaos aligned man trying to keep her from dying, she felt as if her body was levitating, but that might be because he was lifting her up.

He was getting hit by all these things… by waves that crashed down on them and objects being thrown at them, but Varuna somehow managed to avoid all that, aside from a lazy paper airplane that bounced off her leg.

Whatever he was doing was keeping her from getting the brunt of the attacks, and for that she was grateful. And yet, the Queen was still out there, trying to kill them… And what was she doing aside from allowing this man to try and get her to safety when he really didn’t have to.

—————————————————————————

There was a sudden sense of relief as his shade was pulled away, knowing that he wasn’t going to have to be responsible for killing it, but as it was taken into the Queen and used for energy, he wished there had been a way to be rid of it sooner. Had he known the Queen was capable of recalling the shades to improve her health, he would have done more in his power to defeat it.

But there were more important things to worry about, and Valhalla immediately turned to run back towards where he’d seen Ganymede fall, hoping that she wasn’t seriously injured. He’d never seen her fall like that in a fight before, so of course he was going to be worried.

He tried ducking out of the way of the tidal wave and lost his balance as some of it hit him, and again for the paper airplane, but it simply bounced off his shoulder.

“How is she??” he called once in earshot of the other two women, skidding to a stop where Ganymede was just released from Pasiphae’s shield. Thank god she was there, and had it been in any other situation, he would have greeted her with a hug, but right now…?

Right now he felt like he was going to be sick…

His face was blanched of all color, and it was difficult to keep his hands from shaking as he knelt down and reached out to make sure there wasn’t anything obviously broken or bleeding on Ganymede’s body. Valhalla could see she was at least breathing, although it was shallow, weak breaths, and her face was paler than usual. “What the hell happened? Did you see?” he asked of both Themiscrya and Pasiphae, looking up at him with wide, fearful eyes.

Unwilling to let another attack harm her, and to keep Pasiphae from using much more of her magic, he gingerly lifted Ganymede off the ground, holding her against him as he turned to see what the Queen was doing now. “She’s getting desperate,” he mumbled to himself, torn between staying with Ganymede and trying to finish off the Queen before she could harm anyone else.

In the end, he figured he was too emotionally compromised, and would be more of a hindrance than help. He would rather not end up distracting those still fighting by having them keep him out of harm’s way.

There wasn’t much of a chance for Oberon to avoid getting hit by everything thrown at them. He might be fast, but he wasn’t going to leave Metis or *********.

“Yeah,” was all he said in response to her asking if he was okay, not wanting to worry her over the little scratch on his arm. He might need a couple butterfly bandages, but other than that…

He watched as Metis held *********> in her arms as the cat used her attack. His eyes were wide with excitement to see something like it. “Woah,” he breathed, forgetting his pains for a moment. “Can you all do that??”

Not that he wanted Sheena to end up in a situation where she needed to use that kind of magic, but… it was pretty freaking cool that she could do that.

The lantern hitting him caught him off guard, and he yelped as his shoelaces caught on fire. But that was easy enough to kick off, now one shoe less, as the other burned up a bit.

HP: 16 - 8 = 8/40

——————————————————————————

With the shades gone, there wasn’t much else to do aside from attacking what was left of the queen. Oberon was still in the fray, and there were countless others getting hit with these attacks in their effort to protect the city, and the world.

Kicking away the caltrops that he’d trodden on, Sessrumnir called his storm glass from subspace, holding it tight in his hands as he rushed forward to attack. Maybe once this Queen was gone, he could find where the others had hidden and make sure they’re okay.

She turned in his hold, unable to move too far away as he was keeping her from falling again, lifting her hands to use the last bit of her energy on an attack at the queen. “Snow Slip!” she called weakly, watching as the snow bubbled up from the ground and rushed forward and towards the lake.

She wasn’t sure what the snow would do in the water aside from cool it down more, but maybe it wasn’t the snow itself that would do any damage, but the magic in it…? There were a great many things she didn’t know about, including herself as a senshi, but she was at least going to try.

HP: 3/40

Two damage rolls for Varuna!

—————————————————————

He was lucky that she wasn’t difficult to spot. There were already others attacking her, trying to defeat her. Some were having more luck than others, but it wasn’t about the level of skill they had, or the amount of damage they were dealing…

Hell, it wasn’t even about attacking the Queen at all. There were others helping the wounded, getting them to safety. People were risking their lives in order to drive this threat back, those who called themselves enemies lending each other helping hands.

So instead of those fighting the Queen, Sessrumnir took a moment to look behind him at those remaining on the lake’s edge. They were just as important to this fight as everyone else, and while others might refer to them as “the support” rather than “the attackers” he knew that without them, there would be a lot more carnage than there was.

But as much as he wanted to thank each person individually for their efforts, it wasn’t the time or place. Maybe once this was all over, he could speak to them, if they were even interested — many probably just wanted to go home.

Instead, Sessrumnir turned back to the Queen, leaping with what energy he had left from fighting from the beginning of this strange encounter, to swing his stormglass at her, more than happy to repay her for the maces and lanterns she was throwing at them. He hoped that it would be enough to at least prevent her from attacking again, and give the others enough time to tend to the fallen.

The witch was squirming, and as soon as she hit her breaking point, everyone knew it. Suddenly the skies seemed to explode with weaponry.

It just happened to be Iris' luck that she got hit with something she had a lot of practice with. It struck her wing, which caused her to momentarily lose altitude, but after the bottom of her dress got wet, she managed to lift back up again.

It would have been tempting to stop and wring out the bottom of her dress to get rid of some of the excess weight, but that would have to wait for another time. Instead, she reached back and plucked the boomerang that had lodged itself amongst the feathered appendage.

"...well... hello there..."

Before he managed to get any response from his companion, the sky rained weapons. Rather quickly he swept his cape about the two of them. However, the gossamer material didn't seem to protect them by any means. Several caltrops snagged onto his cape.

After shooting off that energy shot, the cat seemed to pad her paws, as if to settle the nerves that might have been shot with the attack.

Oberon's excited inquiries did not go ignored, and tilting her head to the side, she replied in a pleasant manner "Yes... all of the guardians have the potential to do such... though it is really taxing... so it isn't recommended to go shooting it off like wildfire..."

That was perhaps some bad timing on her part. Seeing as the chibi senshi's shoe caught fire at that moment. However, he wasn't he only one to get attacked. The manx managed to get a few more caltrops stuck in her fur.

As Metis let out a slight yelp of pain, the manx glanced to her.

"...you okay, Metis?" she asked before jokingly adding "...I wonder where she stores all this stuff she borrows...?"

Leave it to a Mauvian to question such a thing.

With a familiar weapon at hand, the princess flung the boomerang at the Queen in a manner similar to her own magical attack earlier.

However, that wasn't enough for Iris.

Once she had released the weapon, she quickly jetted forward, following up the weapon with a different weapon.

Weapon-name: Knuckle Sandwich.

Aimed for the queen's face.

Apprehension rose quickly when Acrucis realized just how far the range of their opponent’s attacks actually reached. Still far enough away from the thick of it all, where the battle seemed to be centered, the little Senshi of Prayer couldn’t help be almost wish she had turned back like Shangri-La had initially instructed.

Not much time had passed since the heat ray had snaked its way through the trees singeing the knight next to her when the two of them were assaulted by caltrops and paper… airplanes? “What in the world is going on? Tell me this isn’t normal!” Though the question was directed at Shang, though she doubted there would be enough time to explain anything with all the Shades intercepting them as they tried to fight their way to the epicenter.

"If I threw your shoe, what would you have had to throw?" He snorted, only to roll his eye and shrug when she threw it. "See?" He taunted only to get hit with another stuffed animal. "....That didn't just happen." Snapping a partially broken branch off, he launched it at the queen. "Breathing a little heavy. You alright??" There was no denying he himself was breathing heavy himself. "Me too.."

Oberon made a face as his shoe continued to burn, scorching leaves and twigs on the ground beside it. Well, that wasn’t good. They were trying to keep this Queen lady from taking over the Earth, but what would happen if he ended up allowing the park to burn down in the process?? That wasn’t very boy scout of him…

Oberon took a step forward, giving his flaming shoe a hard kick towards the lake. He hadn’t intended for it to hit the Queen, but it did.

Regardless of that… the flames were put out with a splash in the waters below.

That ********* used her forehead laser was.... more than a little surprising! Startled, she held even tighter to the cat, afraid of the impact potentially sending both of them back... if such a thing were possible. "I forgot you could do that," she mumbled to *********>, wide-eyed and amazed.

The boomerang came out of nowhere. Caught Metis by the leg, making her cry out as she tumbled to the ground. "Oh of all the..." Her voice trailed off--cut off--as she looked over to the yelping Oberon. Was that... fire? On his shoe? Well, least he threw it at the offending queen. Good!

There was more than just a little relief on Themiscyra's face when Valhalla managed to join them. Something that was smashed away by more important matters. Yeah, the Knight was there. While this was good, the fact was they still had a girl down. "She got hit by something and collapsed. I hadn't been close enough... to see..." Chagrin colored her face and words. She'd been too busy beating the ever loving hell out of her Shade. Not that she hadn't felt bad enough about that, seeing the way Valhalla was over the girl... s**t. She didn't make excuses of how there was too much going on. Someone was hurt in a bad way, and that'd all that damn mattered.

"Get her out of here and take her a hospital. We can finish up here if the b***h is getting this crazy." She glanced towards the other senshi, hesitating, unsure if she'd want to hang around. Of course, Themiscyra still had one arm tucked into both Pasiphae's offered bow and the cloth of her own toga. She should be insisting they all go to the damn hospital...

To see the lantern go flying at her out of nowhere certainly got a rise out of her, and out of reflex she lifted her arm--it just had to be reflex that had her lift the injured arm. But the thing shattered against her lower arm, and though she got a few cuts from it, surely, it didn't bother her much... beyond the jostling of her wrist. Great. "I hope someone gets a good shot to her face for me," she grumbled.... before wincing as she noticed a rather intense heat along her leg. Looking down, she wasn't too happy to see fire licking away at the red fabric of her toga. It was at least... relatively easy to rip off the large swath of cloth. Once she unbuckled her belt, and ripped the cloth under the Mars pin at her shoulder. Displaying the fact the leather under her cloth did, in fact, extend down as a shorter shift of sorts, Themiscyra was less than amused with the situation.

She really wasn't fighting him. Huh. Loke flicked a small frown the girl's way before he collected her into his arms and stood. How to get out... just bolt? The girl made him pause though, watching in mild amusement as she used her magic on the queen. "So you're a snow babe, huh?" Definitely amused, and almost trying to make light of the situation. He'd be keeping that in mind though, if only to make sure he didn't end up on the other end of that avalanche.

He'd barely taken much of a step before sharp points pierced the soles of his boots, making him grit his teeth--it was the freaking bolas that wrapped around his legs that made him tumble. To his knees, thankfully, trying to keep the girl from hitting the ground. "Ah ********-- s**t, sorry." He placed her somewhat back on the ground, trying to untie himself and cursing all the while. What a freaking pain in the a** this queen was.

Really, on some level, she should thank the queen. Reaching out, she picked up the boomerang that had just hit her. Oberon had just thrown his burning shoe back at the queen... not a bad idea at all. Especially after she'd given her something to throw. Getting back to her feet, she wasn't... entirely sure how to throw the thing. She'd seen Iris do it plenty of times. Not that the other senshi didn't have so much practice but... how hard could it be? Pulling her arm back and twisting her body, she couldn't help but think this wouldn't go well. Ah well. Metis threw the boomerang back at the Queen. All she could do was cross her fingers and hope she'd seen Iris do that enough to get a proper idea of how to actually.... aim....

Metis HP: 32
[ Two damage rolls for Metis! Rest are normal for Themi and Loke ]

----------------------------

She wasn't keeping a burning cloth around. But she could still use it. Not entirely sure what she was doing, but sure trying something was better than nothing, Themiscyra gathered the long expanse of cloth. Keeping the burning end away from herself, she threw a few rocks into another end and tied them into a makeshift weight. Without much time to make sure everything was tied right--it was burning from the other end--Themiscyra lifted her makeshift burning bomb... and threw the burning cloth weighed by rocks straight for the Queen. The fact it got any distance at all was amazing to her... but she was pretty sure she didn't hit the target. Much. Damn!

Themiscyra HP: 12

----------------------------

Should he be grateful the b***h had given him ammo? Sure, why not? "Excuse me a sec..." Letting go of the girl entirely, and unwrapping himself from the bolas that had helped to knock him down, Loke got back to his feet. And began to swing the bolas up above his head. He wasn't a sports guy. Not remotely. But his magic still wasn't back up and running, and... hell if he knew what else to do. So he waited till he was pretty sure he had a good chance to hit... and threw the bolas right back to the Queen. Loke stumbled a little, having been sort of pulled along for a moment by the momentum of swinging the damn things. Well it... looked like they at least flew a good ways. Er. Score?
