That was around the time Quinn noticed that Shiloh was covered in some sort of slimy blue goopy substance. H really had to resist the urge to take his hand back and wipe it on his coat.....

"...Shiloh what are you covered in? It smells weird."

Looking up as another familiar face appeared, he frowned. "Oh hey, Ian!" He actually had to look at the monster. Was that a giant bedbug????

Borrowing?

"OH! Of course.... yes!" That was his cue to walk away right? Maybe they didn't need him this time really. Though truly should he find someone to launch? He eyed Ian and Shiloh momentarily, thoughtful expression. "I feel weird launching someone in the air towards danger. Seems...counter productive. "

"So how long have you been at this?" He gestured briefly at their surroundings before taking a moment to make himself familiar with the mechanics of the launcher, prodding at the necessary safeties before eying the restraints he would have to fasten around the other hunter. It seemed like it would be easy enough, all in all...

"I mean, I know this isn't the best time to talk or ask questions, but... When this is over, maybe?" He smirked. Ceres had clued him in on a decent amount, but he'd take anything he could get.

Otto narrowed a glare at Ami, his mouth twisting into some kind of agitated pout. He made no retort. He was skinny and there was little he felt like doing about it. He had a naturally small build.

Once he was equipped, he uncertainly got himself in place, waiting for Ami to be ready to launch him. He just needed to pretend he wasn't terrified.

Ami didn't do much of anything to reassure Otto- she knew that feeble things like hugs and kisses wouldn't do him any good. Instead, she said, "I can't guarantee your safety-" After all, she couldn't promise Otto he was going to make it out okay- to do that would be a lie. "-But I wouldn't put you in this sort of danger if I didn't know what I was doing."

She nodded and began putting in the inputs.

Seeing as Otto was ready to go, Ami moved the cannon to trace the insanity's titan's trajectory. Hopefully she wouldn't land Otto in the sea. A damp Otto was probably not a happy Otto.

"Give 'em hell, kid," she said, just before pressing the trigger. Aaaand now Otto was a bird.

A beautiful, beautiful bird.

Nevada had taken the time to clean off herself before looking for a hunter to launch, the gear in her hands. Unlike others, she wasn't one to launch herself at a titan, especially after being inside it.

What she needed was a good sun hunter. A good looking one would help her already annoyed behavior but can't have cake and -

"Chelsea!" The mist huntress squinted her eyes as she saw a familiar pink haired sun hunter before jogging over to the girl, "Hey Chelsea, Wanna be my partner for this launch?" As in do you want her to launch you in the air Chelsea, you know you did. She held up the gear and waggled her eyebrows at the girl.

Ripley was trying to listen to the instructions, and while worrisome he was pretty sure he got the idea. What he needed was a defensive person from either Moon, Life or Mist. Okay, easy enough...and as his eyes scoured the crowd, he knew who to approach first.

The Death Trainee made a b-line for Abbi, putting a hand on her shoulder once he reached her. "Hey, Abbi, you wanna give me a hand here?" He didn't like the idea of being launched, not one bit or even slightly, but he liked being useful. If putting his life in the hands of a teenager for the sake of the group was something he had to do, he'd do it. "Though I'm not sure we humans are made for flying..." He trailed off with a nervous waiver to his voice, staring up at the Hunters that were already being launched.

He didn't mind the questions, but Gale was already getting into position near the harnesses, raising his arms and gesturing for Land to help him into them.

"A little over two years, I think," he said. "I've rather lost track of time here, and but I do believe it's been slightly over two years. In other words - " Gale gave him a pointed look. "A long time. You seem as though this is the first time you've been out in the field, right?"

It had taken a moment for Mimsy to regain her bearings after being pulled somewhere by Quinn, but she managed to gather that her new task involved the propulsion of her coworkers towards a smaller Insanity creature.

Which meant physics.

Her tone was filled with eager curiosity as she tried to reassure Quinn, because this was all definitely something that she wanted to watch.

"Oh, don't feel 'weird' about it. There are ample opportunities for them to change divisions before catastrophic events such as this one. Their job is to risk certain death, much like ours is to..."

Fling them at it? Watch them die terrifically terrible deaths? Hope the monsters are sated by their offering? Avoid combat at all costs?

"...er, ensure their safety in the meantime." Close enough.

“Monster puke,” Shiloh answered Quinn, smirking, although, since he was covered in the stuff, he wasn't entirely sure why he was so smug about his answer.

But as he caught sight of Ian’s expression, Shiloh’s face fell; his initial greeting had not been well received it seemed. He supposed it wasn’t really a joking atmosphere, not with that thing threatening to climb to wall, and the fate of Deus hanging in the balance. While Ian spoke to Quinn, Shiloh gave his best efforts to look serious, watching the commotion as hunters scrambled to team up. Ah, that’s right, he needed to find a partner.

He was just about to turn and begin searching, when a hand closed over his wrist and he found himself pulled after Ian.

“Hey, wait, why are you asking his permission!” Shiloh protested, glancing back at Quinn, just in time to see the hunter’s expression waver.

“Quinn! You'll be fine," he called, grinning widely. He sucked at the whole being serious thing. "You too Mims, I better see you both out there!”

LOOKING FOR OFFENSE PARTNER

Jack had a fun few words for Ami, but sometimes rl life got in the way: life being a continuously rampaging monster and a guy yelling from a wheelchair about--wait, were they really launching hunters?

Lasers and then impromptu cannoning. Oh yes, this was a good day.

"Atta boy, Noah, I'll check back with you about those samples," he said, patting the fellow Lifer on the back. "Now, let's see . . ." Time to find a hapless target. He could go continue the snarkfest later, which he was sure would be one hell of a time with the shrimp.

"Seems like it because it is... Alarm started blaring, stepped out of my room and Teach... Ceres... Snagged me. Ran me half the way here before realizing she hadn't seen me before." He shook his head slowly, stepping up so that he could start letting his fingers work over the harness, double-checking straps and buckles to make sure that it was all completely secured. The last thing he wanted was to be held responsible for someone's demise on his first go at the wheel.

"Are you ready to fly?"

Getting lost in your job was always the easiest way to forget any troubles. As the machine rolled in, Robert had to stop what he was doing, because instructions were being given, and he was never very good at doing things right. He took a minute to try and figure out the harness himself, before bothering to fasten someone with it. In the hustle of hunters preparing for battle, Robert grabbed the first one he could see, and threw a harness over her shoulders.

"Straps tight? Hold on, sugar." His arms wrapped around Stormy in an embrace she probably didn't expect, and he threw her onto the catapault without asking. He was getting s**t done.

"THREE TWO ONE GO GET HIM-" That countdown was terribly fast. Not fast enough to stop him from noticing that the catapault was facing the opposite direction.

"WAIT. Adjustment. God."

For some odd reason, it was suddenly very clear to Mimsy that she should have gone a little farther in a recent physics lesson.
