Chi jumped when the Sixth appeared, blinking a few times at how fast it happened. She wasn't even sure how he knew she needed him, but she can find out later. For now, Chi put the kunai away and glanced up at Vale, then turned to the Hokage. "There's going to be another attack tomorrow. Jugo is going to come in right through the front gates. I... I figured it would be best to tell you to get the village prepared, bu-ut I want to be on the frontlines if it comes to a fight..."

"And so will me and Rhea along with the others." She said scratching the large canine behind her ears. "Of course he won't. He'll do anything to destroy this village." Rhea added. "Well we'll be ready for him. Whenever he comes."

Yumiko nodded and crossed her arms over her chest. "Until then, we'll just need to stay on guard for any more attacks." She paused in thought for a moment, glancing at Shijura. "If I remember correctly... You're still a Chuunin, right?..."

Vale and Sukiru made eye contact for a moment before Sukiru closed his eyes. "...I can't allow you..." he told her solemly. "...Let Vale handle this. What I just saw...He needs this..." the Hokage finished.

Chi stood there for a bit, blinking in shock. She left Vale's arms and walked right up to Sukiru. "I'm a Jonin of the village too, meaning I have the right to protect the Hidden Leaf, to protect my home..." Yes, she was talking back against the Hokage's word, but she didn't stop there. "Hokage-sama... If Vale needs to fight, then so do I..."

Vale stood there and looked back out the window as the Hokage directed his attention to Chi. "Why? Why do you feel the need to fight with him, even though he claims rights to Taka?"

"B-because..." She lowered her gaze clenching her hands into fists by her sides. "Because I owe him my life... and..." Her voice dropped just like her gaze, the last part just barely above a whisper. "And because I love him..."

Vale looked over at Chi while Sukiru walked up, placing a hand on Chi's shoulder. "Then stand by him. Through everything." he told her before vanishing.

Chi was silent, then slowly looked up but Sukiru had already disappeared. When she turned to Vale, a few tears rolled down her cheeks but her lips held a small smile.

Vale walked up to Chi, merely wrapping his arms around her, holding her head on his chest. holding her tightly against him, he buried his face into her hair again.

Chi's shut her eyes when she felt his arms around her, her own hands clutching lightly at his vest while her head rested against his chest. She didn't have anything to say except maybe a joking 'don't do anything stupid tomorrow' sort of thing, but right now she just wanted to remain lost in the embrace.

Yumiko kept her arms over her chest as she looked Shijura over a few times, along with Rhea. "I think it's time you moved up to the rank of Jonin. I'll have to check with the Hokage to see if I can actually promote you to Jonin since I'm ANBU, but if not, I'll at least mention it to Sukiru-sama about promoting you."

Vale kept his face buried into Chi's hair, a bit of wetness dripping down into hair. Vale had his eyes closed tightly as he pressed lightly against her, shaking lightly.
