She hated that stupid ad...and now the song was going to be stuck in her head, as made evident by the fact that she was now humming it. She punted the present, slicing right through it with Atropos' blade and then stomping on it. Damage done: 9

Everything was sort of becoming a blur at this point. Perhaps you could overdose on JOY... or perhaps it just had negative side effects, like impaired judgement and bad christmas songs. Sounded a lot like alcohol to her, but she had a pretty good tolerance to alcohol -- this s**t was knocking her on her ******** a**. But for the time being, she couldn't be bothered with things like regrets and future embarrassment. Robert had proposed again, formally, beautifully, and she was the happiest girl in the world, his arm around her, pressed up against his side. She vaguely heard Julie say something about the contests, but it really had never been about the contests, so Petra didn't pay even the slightest bit of attention, too busy murmuring under her breath in Robert's ear, propositioning they leave the party a little early. So when when she heard both her own and her fiance's name, she was completely taken by surprise, at first having no idea what they had done wrong.
Even after she'd realized they'd won one of the contests, it hadn't registered to the moon trainee that it had been with Candace that she had won half of the 'best couple' contest. A fact that Candy herself set straight pretty quickly.
Allowing the girl to link their arms, she followed the girl up to where the presents had been stacked, reaching up to touch the santa hat before she quirked an eyebrow in Candace's direction, smirking a little. "Peppermint?" She replied, sounding as if she quite liked the nickname, tilting her cheek towards the other as it was kissed, "Candy and Peppermint. What a pair we make."
Unfortunately, the victory was short lived. No sooner had they picked up the gifts before they had suddenly sprung to life, snarling and snapping rabidly at anything that moved. Streamers and christmas trees were torn to shreds, desserts splattering to the floor as tablecloths were torn from the buffet. Tossing the present to the ground, Petra's expression immediately flattened, eyes narrowed as she glared coldly at the new threat.
That was rather sobering.
Reaching up to her neck, she tugged the silver chain that held her pentagram pendant from her neck, slipping it through her fingers as she summoned Cain, stalking towards the demon-gifts, heels or not.

Eva's heart hurt a little at the thought of destroying the presents, but what choice did she have? Eying a small group that was bouncing alongside her, she summoned Chara, lifting the weapon (that was still decorated with mistletoe) and advancing on the presents.

The flimsy cardboard gifts were no match for Cain. The mace arced through the air, spikes glittering in the florescent light, smashing right through three of the oncoming gifts.

Her swing had cleared a path a little, and Petra took a few long strides forward, thankful that her dress had a slit in the side to allow her to walk. The heels clicked a little on the tile, swallowed up by the sounds of screams, but she ignored it all, instead sliding her eyes over the chaos like a radar, taking note of what was happening. It seemed everyone was doing moderately alright on their own. Instinctively, she looked for Robert, immediately spotting him in the crowd (sitting on her sister, no less,) but he seemed to be doing far better than she would have expected, all things considered, so she left him be, her eyes passing over him after a few moments.
A small swarm snarled off to one side, and she barely had enough time to sidestep before they had all leaped at her at once, twisting to swing at them using the same momentum.

For a moment he thought the tiny swarm would overtake him, but no that was just his imagination. He easily slashed through the presents. Wilson shed a small tear. Those poor presents…
