"Ah, I thought so," he said with a sigh, a lop-sided smile flashed briefly across his face before fading into a more muted, concerned smile. She wasn't fooling anyone, as evidenced by her pale face and pained expression. "Alright," the grunt relented as he sat down near her, studying her face for a few extra moments. "Can I get anything for you then?" Obviously she wasn't okay, but she'd insist she was until she turned blue in the face and even then probably still wouldn't admit it. But.. something was definitely wrong, and she needed something. Not that he knew what that was besides medical attention like half the rest of the team.

Sierra opened one eye in what would have normally been construed as a sleepy manner, pondering Mau's question before answering. "Dunno. Made it this far though. Figure that's not a bad sign." She almost smirked, but really, it was too much energy, and it wasn't even that funny to begin with.

She cringed, inhaling sharply as the wound was prodded, then forced herself to relax again. So tired anyway. "'S alright," she answered, a slight slur to her voice that she didn't normally carry. She was too tired to argue, but somewhere in the back of her mind, she registered that this was her teammate and he was trying to help her. Surely he knew better than she did what to do now. For all of Sierra's experiences that resulted in patching herself up before, gunshots were not on the list.

She let herself relax, as best she could, comforted by the Eeveelutions' presences and contact. As Mau cleaned and inspected, he'd likely find that the bullet had gone straight through her calf and out the other side. Of course, it'd torn its way through the muscle, so it wasn't exactly a light wound either.

Rocket Agent Aila

Charmant fixed Inigo with a highly critical, warning glare. She wouldn't tolerate anyone making her trainer uncomfortable in this state, and she wouldn't hesitate to verbalize as much in a growl if the male pressed too far.

"No," she insisted. "I'm fine." A damp, furrowed brow betrayed the worry that her words aimed to conceal, small hands trembling in her lap.

By the sound of Aila's rising anger, Izaya smirked bitterly, thinking she was finally starting to know how he felt. Too many people looking out for you made you feel even weaker and more helpless than you did for receiving your wound in the first place. Not that he expected the teenage girl to be aware of that. It had to be something else that had her so riled up. He'd never managed to do it single-handedly to her before. Had it been the accumulated stress from the near-death experience?

"Since when did you suddenly become our new mother?" Izaya shot at his partner, sinking low into a chair beside her to pout. He crossed his arms over his chest and glared at Inigo and Charmant near Aila. Stubborn girl. Why did she have to have so much pride? It was going to get her into big trouble one of these days.

Standing was difficult, but remedied by a hand on the back of the pilot’s seat. She seemed confident, and the vehicle was ridiculously easy to drive. When she suddenly fingered buttons that pulled up a display that he had no idea about with that look in her eyes, he dropped it. She knew how to work this thing. He turned making sure everyone was on board and winced, hearing Alia’s comments. "Damn shayim." he muttered quietly, causing another hitch in his breathing.

Yes, he would let Faleen fly for now. He took a deep breath and it hurt, but he continued, forcing the words out in smooth succession. "If you need me, I'll be over there." he pointed to the seat closest to the front of the plane, by where he had placed luxury. "Make sure we get to speed before taking off, that and landing is the hardest parts, the rest is easy." he took off, walking back to Luxury who was already gathering medical supplies.

With a sigh of relief he sat down and kept his eyes on Faleen, ready to intercede at a moment’s notice.
PostPosted: Sat Nov 12, 2011 2:13 am

Faleen let out a soft sigh, it seemed everyone was going to be as ready to go as they were going to be.
And she didn't want to waist any more time here, not with severely wounded like Nyx.

They just got the Elite back, and they were not going to lose her now!
Glancing over to Panther when he gave her a few more words of advice.
"Thank you Agent." Faleen told him, very casually as her fingers once again tapped over the screen surface, the engines on the mech where already buzzing to life, quickly giving them enough power to get ready for take off.
"Upon some research, this beauty has a function for vertical take off."
She barely had to touch the controls, before the jet they had risen into the air.

This wasn't where she went forward though, she glanced over her shoulder instead, turning the jet slowly once they had gained enough altitude, and distance, to face the black jet still on the ground.
"It would be wise of us to ensure that the Galactics don't try and follow,"
she said, in an obvious hint as to what she was about to do.
once again fingers tapped twice on the monitor.

There came a brief, fading hissing from the sides of the jet the Rockets were in, and a moment later, the black jet sitting on the ground exploded brilliantly, with a flash of bright flaming light and a trembleing "BOOOM!".

Mau was about to snap back at Aila that if she was indeed fine, then she should be helping, rather then sitting there being defiant. But he caught himself. Making her angry would make her worse. "Get Aila a blanket." he said to Inigo. "It might get cold on the way back." Really, he was more worried about her going into shock. He couldn't tell her to loosen her clothing, she would just get herself in a tizzy. So instead, make her comfortable, let her try and keep what strength she had. "And Aila, I'm going to be asking everyone if they're alright." He said, wrapping up Sierra's leg as she seemed to fall half asleep. "I'm not going to give you special treatment because you're mad."

When Sierra's wounds were tended to, he moved back to Nyx, just to check on her. Still alive, that was good. Worry was apparent on his face as he checked on her, but he moved on. He noticed Panther and stared at him a moment. He knew that expression. "Should probably bind those ribs." He said before looking at Izaya. "How are you holding up?" He eyed the blood stain on the man's side. "Looks like it's pretty bad. Should re-bandage that. You mind?"

Hearing Faleen mention take off, Mau made sure to double check for all his pokemon, recalling Mai and Uta. Aki was resting near Sierra, and Ire was running about getting boxes of medical supplies out. This really was going to be a hell of a ride back.

"...I take it back. Faleen's the father. You're the mother," Izaya told Mau after regarding Nyx's boyfriend a minute. "Well, to be honest, I've probably fractured a tibia...maybe a simple spiral fracture if how I landed said anything...and my humerus probably has a comminuted fracture. Pain hasn't really set in yet, though, and I've still got adrenaline going." he commented casually before pushing himself back up on his feet, instantly dropping his sarcastic act.

"Really? You want to re-bandage a cut? Why not go make sure your girlfriend's wounds are sterilized? Infection could have already set in by now; Arceus knows you could at least have sprayed it with disinfectant or something. She's unconscious, so what better time than to treat her now? Or at least stay by her side?" Not that Izaya cared. He knew nothing of love, after all. Nor of affection or to truly care about another human being. He just wanted the calm individuals to shed the ridiculous masks of sanity they were wearing when he knew they were no more mentally stable at the moment than anyone else in the ship. All of the Rockets were equally shaken up by the series of recent events, injured or not.

When Mau dismissed Inigo to get a blanket, Izaya walked back over slowly with a slight limp. He stared at the back of Charmant and Aila in silence, leaning against the interior of the aircraft.

Trae looked around at her Luxury's request for help, and squeaked happily when she spotted Ire. "Flare!" She retrieved the item and quickly returned to her human. "Flare!" Luxury giggled a little at the pokemon's happy demeanor. Nothing could phase her, could it?

Luxury was pleased when Panther returned. She moved her ankle under the seat, biting back a cry of pain, and pulled open the kit. Pain meds, and ... crap. It really wasn't a good idea to bandage his ribs. She needed to see how much bruising he had, it could indicate which ribs were damaged the most. "Please, let me look at you."

To Mau she shook her head. "Not a good idea. Used to be seen as good, but not. It restricts breathing..." She had tended broken ribs on her brother not long before joining Team Rocket. Things sure changed quickly in the medical world...

Faleen got a smile in return for her thanks. But Mau simply got a nod. He didn't know what to say to that.

"Huh?" Panther glanced at her, eyes alive with pain, and expression that would normally have been hidden behind sunglasses. "Oh.. you need to worry about your ankle first. My first priority is..."

Faleen took off, not as a jet but like a helicopter. He gripped the seat not expecting that. what was this thing? and damn was it cool! He grinned but relaxed glancing out the window with approval. "Never mind, we are good." he relaxed. "Let me see your ankle. He didn't move, a clear indicater of his pain.

At the take-off, Luxury gripped the agent who was gripping the seats. That. Was. Scary. For a second she felt no pain at all, just a gut-wrenching fear that something didn't go right, until Panther relaxed. Good. Ok. That works. Yes. Her ankle? "No." Quite understanding that she was disobeying an Agent, the grunt returned her hands to the kit and found a packet of pain killers. She didn't know where to get water, but... "Here. Stop being a hero and take these, Panther." She added softly.

He looked at them, giving her a strange look. "Sure, I'll take them, I suppose we do have a while before we get back." he grabbed the packet, and tore it open, swallowing without water. "Now give me your foot. and those bandages."

Stubborn! Dammit! "Fine..." Biting her lip, she pulled her ankle back out from under the seat. It looked bad, and tears sprang to her eyes again. Concussions and gashes she had encountered many times, never a broken bone. Blood had already soaked up her stockings, and she could tell even with the boot on it was swollen. He'd have to cut it off... Taking a shuddering breath she undid the straps. "Got a knife?"

"Yeah in my pack." the thought of taking it off, he dreaded it. Movement caused pain. Talking caused pain. Even now there was still a hitch in his breathing and the endorphins were running out fast. "Let's not fight with the boot I just want to see if it's not set."

Luxury looked at Trae, Trae fetched the knife, and Luxury attacked the boot. "It's not." Her vision was blurring. Oh hell, really? Shaking her head to know avail, she cut at the boot and soon revealed bone sticking out of her skin. At the sight her vision went totally black, but she wasn't faint or even dizzy. Just... freaked. Breathing deeply, she raised her eyes up, not seeing a thing but not wanting to look down. It wasn't too bad, just enough for a shard of white to be seen, and it actually interested the grunt. Problem was, her senses didn't want to agree with her.

Several cuss words crawled through his head. "Foot up in my lap, now." he grabbed it, ignoring the twinge of pain as he did and pulled her leg in his lap. This was more important. "Trea bandages, and does anyone have something long like a stick?" he looked around the room, looking for something to service.

Luxury let out a yelp and instantly her vision swam back. Oookay, pain was the key on this one. Trae quickly nabbed what the nice man requested, happy to do anything Sebastain's owner asked, and shoved them in his hand. She got up on the seat next to him then, resting her tail lightly on his ribs to warm the muscles and try to ease his pain. He was trying to help Luxury, she'd try to help him.

Glancing over to Izaya, blinking a couple of times at being called the father. "That's a rather curious conclusion you've come to." She admitted, though rather absently as she moved the settings on the ship again, mostly distracted with what she was doing as her partner went toward the back, taking a closer notice of just how cut up he was this time...

Her head turned away again hazel eyes narrowed, her chin tilting up slightly with stray strands of green hair plastered to her previously sweaty and dirty face. Watching from her seat... out the wide span of windows before her as black smoke billowed from the wreckage of the once elegant piece of machinery. Destroying what Faleen suspected was one, if not the mode of transportation the Galactic boss and his flunkies had used to get to Johto.

It was over, but watching the smoke, and feeling the large building to the side still crumble to ruin, that deep hatred didn't sooth.
Not that she could blame them, this was a rival team, to the bitter end she suspected.
But she hated them, all of them, Faleen didn't stand for the acts they took against her Team, or the people within it.
Nyx; her friend was laying in the back full of bullet holes, Her partner was bleeding quite a bit, her colleague with his badly wounded partner... the entire team, most of the team badly hurt... no deaths though... at least none yet, they were all tired.

There was no more time to stare at the fire, There were Rockets in here that needed to get back to HQ
It was time to go home, with no kidding around, the Yanmega was turned again taking off to create as much distance from the crumbling building and themselves. Going back home to Kodo with their new stolen toy~

You messed with Team Rocket, Galactic...
What exactly did you expect?

Rocket Agent Aila

PostPosted: Sat Nov 12, 2011 3:44 am

Aila responded to Mau's comments with a vague glare; she didn't particularly have the energy to respond verbally, and he seemed busy anyway.

The dull hum of the engine as the aircraft made its course through the sky was a comfortable consistency. The pain had dulled to a level she could withstand; while it was far from pleasant, she could call it, too, comfortable. Charmant's even breathing and warm presence was easily the greatest comfort of all she had, but even it was rendered as good as absent in the face of her most overwhelming discomfort: A startling and all-encompassing feeling of dread. Aila had felt fear before, of course, as had she felt helpless before, but never like this. The trembling girl shrank under the blanket she had been given, wilting as the building anxiety swallowed her.

"What is that?," the man behind her asked softly, leaning forward so only she could hear. "Is that all the fear you've bottled up all your life, refusing to release under any circumstances?"

"You know," she said quietly, the labor of her breathing evident when she spoke, "I thought I was going to kill my brother, and then his guards would kill me." Had she explained this story already? She couldn't remember. It was hard to focus. "I thought - it didn't matter if I died, so long as I succeeded in that." She shook her head slightly, as if in a final show of defiance against the world. "Stupidest thing I've ever believed in my life. I don't - want to die."

There was no change in Izaya's expression, save for the corners of his mouth firming slightly. He had suspected it since the explosion and her complexion, but her outburst mere minutes earlier had just confirmed it. Taking the seat Inigo had previously occupied beside her, the thin man took Aila's small, blanketed form and pulled her toward him. "No one wants to die. Even when they think they do," he told her quietly as he held her in his arms. He knew. He'd spent much of his past freetime convincing people into meeting for mass online suicide before making them change their minds out of anger at him. Aila, though...she didn't need hate to come to this realization. She just needed the simple fact that it was too late. "They just want to be saved." He paused. "Why...? Why did you save me, you reckless girl?"

The Galactic uniform - Arceus she didn't want to be wearing that thing, especially not now - left only her face and hands exposed, but the skin of both were cool, fingertips erring on cold. There was a subtle, high-pitched sound as Charmant began to cry in concern. "You said that before," Aila murmured, "...or did you? I don't--" She couldn't remember, and it didn't really matter enough for her to say as much. The question of 'why' was one that seemed simple to her, but she was silent for some time before finally replying, "Because you're my friend."

"..." The black-haired man sighed deeply. This wasn't fair. Not at all. She'd roped him into this whole 'friendship' thing. How could you not care for something or someone that cared for you? It was easy when everyone hated your gurts. Not so much when they insisted you were their friend, even after you threatened to hurt them and use their trust in you against them. This was worse pain than any physical pain Izaya could have felt. He was being forced to care about another human. An individual human. And damn, did it hurt. "...Well, then, you're my friend too," he told her, burrying his face in her hair.

She couldn't keep from smiling, even if it was only slight and beaten ragged by shuddering breaths and pallid features. "I'm glad..." Hearing that, it wasn't as terrifying or dreadful as it had been. Hearing that, she had the vaguest sense that everything was fine. Still trembling, she closed her eyes, "I'm just - going to take a rest... I'm so tired..."

Izaya's lips parted slightly, but he couldn't make a sound. Something wet was staining his cheek, but he didn't want to pull away just yet. Instead, he wrapped an arm around the girl he'd known for so many years and ran his fingers through her silky, black hair, wondering about the last time he'd seen it down. It was fitting, almost, in a way. Symbolic. She didn't need to be so stiff and presentable anymore - not this young noblewoman. "You do that, Lady Christelle de Valois," he whispered. "You've earned your rest."

It was so strange...after so often previously having told her she needed more sleep, the one time she felt tired was the one time he didn't want her to.

"Hm..." She breathed out, and slowly her body relaxed. Before the craft reached Team Rocket's headquarters building, the quivering would subside and the pained breaths slow and calm. Eventually, the Arcanine at her side would let out a long, subdued howl of anguish.

Aila would not wake again.

Inigo responded readily to Mau's request for a blanket for Aila, and it took a few brief moments for him to find one. Once he did, he brought it back and gently covered the injured agent with it before Izaya slid up and took his seat. It briefly left him mildly confused as to where he should sit, but he solved that almost immediately after by sitting on the floor in front of the pair instead. With his friend in such a condition as this, he had no intention of going too far.

A worried frown flickered across his face as he watched Aila's face, a strange and familiar feeling mixed with dread nagging at the back of his mind - and then she said the word 'die' and everything clicked into place. A sudden look of recognition crossed his features before it was almost immediately replaced with one of dread. He understood. He knew exactly what was happening, and for a few moments his mind drifted back to the last time this happened so many years ago. Time hadn't dulled the memory or its impact in the slightest.

It was a good thing Izaya had pulled Aila into his arms because if he hadn't, Inigo would have. As long as someone held her right now, that was good enough. With a slow sigh he reached up to take one of her small hands in his, frowning at how cold it felt. This.. this wasn't right. She shouldn't die yet, she was too young... He opened his mouth to say something, but closed it again with a frown as he studied Aila's face. There was nothing to say, nothing at all. Instead he settled for another slow sigh, a sad expression fixed on his face as he watched his friend pass away in Izaya's arms.

As Andre arrived back at his master's side the last of the Rocket team slipped out the door. Deimos looked up at the machine. All but one of the legendaries was gone now. The only one that lingered for a moment was Azelf. As he stared at it, Deimos wondered if it remembered him from the lake so long ago. The moment passed and the blue legendary flew through one of the cracks in the ceiling.

He turned his head to look at Tethys. She'd made the wise suggestion that they leave. The only reason they were still alive standing here was the efforts of her bronzong. He offered a little nod and summoned Phillip. When the Gliscor appeared his eyes widened in alarm. This was not the scene he expected to arrive to. "Scor..".

Tethys recalled her Volcarona and Gallade; with their enemies retreating too quickly for them to follow, they were only liabilities. The Gardevoir she kept, looking from the graceful Psychic to the crumpled green-haired body. "Take him."

He'd been a weasel, but this was the wrong sort of tomb.

Deimos didn't say anything as he climbed onto the giant bat's back. The room echoed with the sound of mechanical parts exploding cracking and being torn apart. He could tell what half of them were by sound. He felt sick. Somewhere further away an explosion rattled the building. The Rockets had blown up their jet.

Once Tethys had joined him on Phillip's back, the gliscor flapped his wings. With the bronzong's help deflecting the rain of debris, they were able to escape through a hole in the ceiling unharmed. It gave them a perfect view of the Rockets soaring away in the Yanmega jet.

The commander narrowed her eyes at the retreating aircraft until wisps of trailing smoke caught her eye. Either a large chunk of the building had fallen off, or.. that was their jet. Had been their jet. Destroying their own transport seemed to add insult to injury - it was what she would have done, but it still rankled.

They'd ruined everything.

Tethys reached for her communicator as they set down. "Deneb," she said stiffly, watching a flaming part of the jet collapse in on itself. "Arrange transport." Pause. "..the Machine." Pause. "No."

She looked over to Deimos, dark eyes attentive. "It will be a few hours, sir."

Deimos hadn't moved away from Tethys' side after climbing off Phillip's back. He was staring up at the crumbling building, watching the clouds of smoke and debris rising up from the holes in the roof. When Tethys spoke he was still for a moment before looking up at her. Tears had started streaming down his cheeks again, saturating his eyepatch. He choked, latched onto his second in command and broke down sobbing.

Deimos always ignored bad things. He couldn't deal with them. Unfortunately he couldn't ignore this, no matter how badly he wanted to.

His second in command's carefully solemn expression managed to last a moment before her mouth twisted and her eyes narrowed painfully.

Unable to do anything else, the pale woman wrapped her arms around his skinny form and held him in silence, head bowed and shoulders rounded in a protective curl.

Behind them, her Gardevoir carefully laid the body of Orion on the grass.

"You- were- right-" Deimos hiccuped between sobs, burying his face against Tethys' shirt. "You were right about everything.."

There was a long silence before Tethys could speak, and when she did her voice was fervent and hoarse with emotion. "I wish I hadn't been."
