(Sera)
Slowly slowly the spider crawled across the ceiling, still staring at the open window. Half way there or so, careful careful and don’t... look....
Down!
OhSoFarDownScary! Giving a piteous little “Eeeeeeeeeeeeeee!” the Spinarak lost its foothold and plunged downward to land on the head of of a dancing human decorated in feathers. Badbadbadbad!

The Rocket grunt was genuinely surprised when Shizuo put him down. He didn't even mind the little shove, even if a shove from the stronger man was enough to knock him down. Izaya just sprang right back up, but not without a tender rubbing of his sore bottom.
"So...Shizu-chan knows Izumi-chan, eh?" the informant murmured, dusting himself off. "Hm. Which would probably mean you know Jerome-kun too, by the looks of it. Does he really know what a monster he's left his girlfriend in the clutches of...?"
Izaya wasn't missing his chance. Winking at the bodyguard, he stuck out his tounge and streaked toward the closest exit. "Looks like it's a job for the magnificent Human-Lover to save her from her inevitable doom at the hands of 'Violence' personified!"
"Shall we take this outside, monster? I think we both know how you end up managing to hurt a lot of innocent bystanders and civillians," he called back over his shoulder with a spring in his step. No need to make a scene indoors, and the party looked to be about over for Nakura, anyway.

"You skateboard?" Shadow remarked, sounding amazed. "Wow, that's awesome. Don't know many girls who do that. Probably because they're not as keen on concussions as you are," he jeered playfully.
"Hey, any job is better than no job, right?" the robot agreed as he laughed, trying to lighten the mood. "Whatever puts bread on the table."
When she stood up to approach, him, however, he backed up a little, caught off-guard by her actions. "Uh...maybe that's not such a good idea," he told her nervously. "I mean, what pokemon could do something like that? Other than that one Sinnoh one...the pokemon of Knowledge or whatever. But I haven't been anwhere near Sinnoh, so far as I know. Anyway, that one's just a legend. What are the chances?"

(Paul, Rosie + trainers)
Mordecai had already hovered away, Sera had already dismissed her dance partner and was in the process of finding another one. She'd thought she'd spotted one when something landed on her feathery headpiece and wig, and she paused to pull it off with a questioning and vaguely disgusted curl of her lip, and lowered it to see--
--it was a spider.
With an ungodly shriek like a banshee, she flung the disgusting thing as far away from herself as she could - which was actually pretty far - before running back to Rosie and the others with an appalled 'yeugh'.

THAT'S IT! Snap went Shizuo's temper and off he went after Izaya. Luckily people moved out of their way as they ran o no one was hurt by the chasing. The party attendants might not get the costumes back though is they actually ended up outside like Izaya planned.

Izaya was still puzzling over how the heck Jerome and Izumi had gotten a hold of Shizuo and his services. More puzzling still was the fact that Izumi seemed to be living with the guy. What could have possibly possessed Jerome to allow his girlfriend to take up residence with another man? There was no way Jerome could have known Shizuo the way Izaya did, either. What if Shizuo had been a rapist or a conartist, or even one of those Griff gang members in disguise? He was going to have to have a serious discussion with his roommate later on.
Having completely forgotten that his costume was a rental and that his own clothes and switchblade were still back inside, the man tensed. Once he heard the sound of the bodyguard at his heels, however, he knew he couldn't go back. He thought maybe if he could wear Shizuo down or lose him somewhere in the city, he could come back later to retrieve his belongings. For now, though, he was defenseless and on his own with only his parkour and Celty to aid him.

Tambrey
Presea's silver-blue eyes studied the other girl a moment when she returned the greeting. When her shoe was secured once more, Presea sat upright and rather then just train her hidden eyes on her, faced the other. The costume? Oh. Yeah. "One of the attendants said it was a great idea. I just allowed them to pick the costume. But thank you." Well that wasn't awkward at all, right? "You're very... traditional." She meant that as a compliment. Traditional witches were fun. It was nice that some people kept to the basics when there were so many... outlandish costumes here. "I like it."
As if to serve as an ice breaker, Presea's little black purrloin jumped up onto Tambrey's lap. "Pyxis." She said to the kitten. He purred and curled his tail around his feet as he sat in the strange girl's lap. There was a key strapped to his back, held with elastic bands. But in his adventures through the party, it had slipped, and looked more like it was coming out of his side. "I apologize if he's being rude." She was actually embarrassed for her Pokemon to be so bold.
Her attention was drawn, for a moment, to a commotion. She saw the man she'd just met, Shizuo, chasing someone else towards the dressing rooms. What a strange hobby.

She felt quite proud to be a skater the way Shadow put it, it marked her as tough and nothing like those sissy girls she'd been through school with.
She was also a little suspicious as to why Shadow got defensive at removing his helmet. Was he hiding something? Who was this guy, anyway? Luxury frowned, cocking her hips and resting her hands on them. Was he from a rival of TR? "Psychics, maybe?" She said, raising a brow. She wasn't totally sure on all the things a psychic pokemon could do, but messing with someones head seemed like quite the possibility.
But really, why was he afraid to show his face? She would have stared straight into his eyes, trying to figure him out, if his helmet had eye holes and not plastic things that let vision out but not in. "Shadow... are you someone I should be afraid of?" Should, but wouldn't be. He could be a famous serial killer for all she cared.

(Presea)
Well, the broom was just awkward and she was starting to feel the hat as a little uncomfortable but it was nice to hear someone liked the costume. Tambrey adjusted her hat self-consciously immediately after Presea had said she liked the costume though. The start of the sentence, as the word 'traditional' had sounded, had made her feel a little bit awkward; she had been feeling a little like she'd slacked off in imagination given all the other interpretations she'd been seeing, but honestly, the other things she'd thought of were just not her thing or she'd have felt too awkward with. It really was nice to hear that someone liked 'traditional'; a little bit of a relief really. "Um. Well. It... uh, works." Tambrey offered, with a hopeful smile, as Presea explained her own costume. "And... Thankyou. I thought of a few things but, um, I jus' didn'- woah. Okay." She blinked, looking down at her lap as it suddenly acquired a rather pretty Purrloin. She listened as Presea addressed him, venturing to stroke him as he curled up and smirking a little at the key 'protruding' from him. She'd have been able to tell who he belonged to from that even if Presea hadn't addressed him. Still, she asked out of some social protocol; people always did that. "So, he's yours? Pyxis... He's very pretty and I like the name." She smiled at the feline, suddenly feeling a lot easier about the situation; pokemon did that, but cats seemed to have some special talent for it. "No, no. It's fine; not rude at all." Well, not from her point of view; people were rude, pokemon were just themselves. Aside from Neph; Neph was rude and scary. "He's quite lovely."
Lasi was winging his way back, locating the table, smirking at human games like the 'shriek-y dance game' that dinosaur girl was playing with the flying Spinarak (he didn't know they could do that! He'd have to persuade Neph to try one day when she didn't want kill him! That would be fun!) and then there was the game of chase between that superhero and zombie... Humans were a lot of fun. Still, he was supposed to be locating Tambrey again. Aha! That was her hat! And she was sitting with a doll and a Purrloin! Yay! Lasi fluttered a little faster; he wanted to meet these new person and pokemon friends! "GUH!" The grinning pink bat greeted them all as he landed beside Presea.

(Dancefloor)
“Nyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!” The spider screamed just as high pitched as the human as he was first roughly grabbed and then hurled across the room. He landed by a human in tall heeled shoes, who also screamed and then kicked him away which hurt a lot! When he landed there were more feet, big clumpy ones that nearly squashed him! Giving little spidery cries of terror the bug type skittered off amongst the dancers in search of escape from all the feet and scary.
*****
(Dani, dancefloor)
The sound of a girl screaming made Aulus startle and cast around quickly to see what needed hitting. When he spotted what was going on, he determined that the thing that needed hitting was the screaming girl; she’d just hurled a Spinarak across the room like it was junk! “Dumb b***h,” Aulus snarled, breaking away from Dani and shoving his way roughly through the dancers in search of the bug type.
Eventually he spotted the tiny spider, and incidentally a guy about to tread on it. A few moments later said guy was flat on his back on the floor, and Aulus was scooping the Spinarak up into his arms. Apparently convinced that it was going to be eaten or squashed the bug type squealed and struggled, but Aulus held it firmly against his chest and scratched it behind the horn. As the Spinarak started to relax Aulus set off through the crowd again, now searching for Dani and completely ignoring the stares directed at him; wasn’t even like he’d broken the stamp-happy guy’s arm or anything, idiots.

(Sera, anyone else nearby)
Apparently something was eating Sera alive. Dith moved quickly from his place by the drinks over to the dance floor, scanning for a feathered outfit. He spotted her before long – height had certain advantages – and luckily she still seemed to have all her limbs attached. “Are you alright?” he asked as he drew close. “Sounded like something awful was happening!” She looked fine to him, other than the disgusted expression on her face; maybe a less than handsome boy had tried to dance with her or something.
*****
(Anyone)
Frost, still lurking in the corner, eyed the exit thoughtfully. Maybe he should just leave without Xander and send him a text to let him know. That sounded quite appealing actually, he really didn’t want to be here anymore. Wait for a gap in the throngs of people and then go. Yes. That’s what he’d do.

"Psychics? Well, yeah, maybe, but...wouldn't they have to have a really good reason? I, er, thought they were pretty rare in the wild...not to mention shy..." At the moment, though, the grunt seemed to be the shy one as he continued to back up against the nearest wall. He looked to the side, wishing he could evade Luxury's penetrating stare. She could be pretty intimidating when she wanted to be.
At her next question, he stiffened, slowly turning his head to look back at her. "...Maybe," he admitted slowly, feeling sheepish and stupid. "I mean, I would never hurt you intentionally, but...my job...kinda dangerous..." he murmured. "Heh...like I said. Bread on the table." He sighed and his shoulders drooped. "I just don't think it's a good idea for you to see my face."
Just then, a human cry followed by a pokemon cry emitted from the direction of the dance floor. Shadow glanced over just in time to witness the feathered trainer as she grabbed a purple Spinerak and flung it across the room. What the hell - ?! "'Scuse me," he told Luxury, darting in the direction he'd seen the spider pokemon be tossed. "Looks like there's someone in trouble."
Headed toward the area, he dropped on his hands and knees, his kneecaps protected by the knee and elbow plates that were a part of his suit. Shadow then proceeded to look around for the purple bug-type among the forest of people's panicked legs. He hoped to Arceus the thing hadn't been trampled yet. What if it belonged to someone? They'd be devestated "Heeeere, little Spinerak..." he called gently, though it was probably pointless. His voice was lost in the chaos that was the party.
After he crawled some way and stood up a minute later to try to reevaluate his plan, he noticed the creature in the arms of some muscular, scarred guy. Phew. At least it was safe. Guessing the pokemon belonged to the tough-looking man, Shadow relaxed and glanced toward the girl in the feathered costume. She was being comforted too, by a huge man who seemed familiar with comforting people. Everything seemed to be fine, now.
He strode back toward Luxury, feeling slightly sheepish. "Well...that was an interesting scare. Probably just some Halloween prank."

"Oh- Okay." Izumi smiled at Jerome and followed him wherever 'over there' was. It didn't matter much, considering that the alcohol was getting into her system now. That, at least, meant it wasn't hard to distract Izumi from Shizuo and Izaya.
When Jerome got Izumi away from the two feuding men, she wrapped her arms around the wolf-man and giggled. "Hey, Jerome." She said as if she had something important to tell him. "You're my best friend." Izumi buried her face into his soft fluffy hoody.

Now her eyes narrowed. Maybe, huh? And why would it not be a good idea?
The girl jumped about ten feet at the bloodcurdling scream that rang out, and when she turned to see the spider pokemon go flying she shrieked herself and perched a top the nearest table, eyes bugging out and hand over her mouth to prevent further screaming. Oh how she hated spiders. HATED spiders.
From her perch, she watched as Shadow went to look for the Spinerak and she seen the guy find it and pick it up, holding it closed. She shivered. Wasn't that idiot afraid of being bit??
The girl turned fifteen shades of red when Shadow came sauntering back. "Y-yeah... Prank... He's not going to be let down, is he?" She pointed at the spider, cringing. Figuring out this guy was going to have to wait until she was certain that... that... THING wasn't going to crawl up her leg.

Blinking as Shadow returned to find Luxury atop a table, he refrained from laughing at her expression and simply grinned instead.
"What's the matter?" he asked, offering a hand to help her down. "It's just a poor Spinerak. I think it's alright now, though. Wait - who's not going to be let down?" he asked, not realizing she meant the purple bug-type until he looked in the direction she pointed.
"...Don't tell me the girl who scateboards and regularly gets concussions is afraid of bug types," Shadow said, looking back from Aulus and his new pokemon to Luxury with an incredulous smirk. "Unbelievable. And yet you don't mind Golbats flying at you with soda cans and candles in their mouths."
He beckoned to her once more with his extended hand. "C'mon. Don't worry, it won't hurt you. Promise. Tell you the truth, I think that little guy is more scared than anyone else in the room right now."

(Faleen, Alba)
When Faleen stood, Claire straightened up to focus on her for a brief moment until the agent drew her attention to Izaya with... someone. Was that the guy he'd been worried about before? If so, she was immediately inclined to leave him to his own devices. But then... he was part of Team Rocket, at any rate, and therefore she was obligated to help him if need be, even if he was an annoying, obnoxious dolt. Oh well, if--
The shriek caught her attention next as her blue eyes darted to the dance floor, completely ignoring as Aulus ran to do.. something. At least he'd left Dani.. wait, who was that? She paused, refocusing as a brown magician and an older magician walked by. She recognized that face and that long hair... "Alba?"
