"Thanks, Regina." Amy could still feel the blood loose in her nose, and this was better than her tank top. She wasn't really strong enough to rip a strip off of the bottom of it anyway. "I'll get you a new one, I promise." She did her best to get as much of the blood off, but it didn't take long for the next attack to strike. Amy hadn't been paying well enough attention, plus it was difficult to move fast when you were still sitting down.
Somehow she was able to get enough out of the way, but her head hurt like she couldn't believe. The corners of her eyes were beginning to wet from the pain, and it was hard to focus on where Regina and Jocelin went. She didn't scream, but she felt herself beginning to hyperventilate. She always thought space whales would be nice!

He sighed as Callum and Layton struggled to get back to their feet. To be honest, Felix couldn’t blame them. The continuous rumbling made it difficult to properly regain one’s bearings. However, in the distance he could see the vague outline of a black shape. He attempted to stand up, craning his neck as high as he could to garner a better view of it.
And the next thing he knew, Felix was staring at a giant space whale. How the hell was that possible? Everything about this place made no sense. It opened its mouth, causing Felix to widen his eyes as he sensed imminent danger. With surprising quickness, he squirmed out from beneath from both of them. “Let’s get out of the way—quick.” He got to his feet and lightly tugged on both of their hands, urging the siblings to follow him. While he managed to dodge the supersonic blast, Felix now had to deal with a painful headache. “Jesus Christ,” he hissed as he squeezed his eyes shut and rubbed his temples.

Steven had been watching slack jawed as the events unfolded before him. And then there was a whale. Giant space whale. And while this nothing to calm any previous fears that he was in some kind of altered state of consciousness thanks to a gas leak or something.
He found himself staring at it in the same silent, slackjawed way he had stared at all the Zodiacs as they arrived but then it blasted a ******** supersonic beam. He just barely came out of reality fast enough to start running and dodge it but oh, god, his head hurt.
He had to stop running just for a second and grab his forehead. Or at least sit there and cringe until he saw straight. Ouch.

There were so many cultural references that could be said about Space Whales, it was amazing how many science fiction books and shows used the mammal in their stories. The first one that came to mind was from a simple book though, "are there going to be petunias also?"
That could have been funny really, as well as a skeptical response and look to Bela about cops and stuff until the giant creature freakin' blasted them with a damn beam!
Roxy managed to get herself out of the way, but not without some ill results. Her head was killing her and her hands shot up to her head again, one hand not helping with the pain as it rammed her bedazzler against her head, making the pain worse. Really, she would have wanted to see where Flannery and Wallace had fared in this, and maybe Bela even though she was new, but right now she just wanted to curl into a ball.
That and go home.

6 impossible things right? Cat's could talk, people could have wings, there were whales in space?
With that, and the creature's roar, Ian dove out of the way, towards one of the walls that he knew wouldn't let him fall off the road. It could have backfired spectacurally, but the barrier had kept him from falling, and he stayed mostly unsathed. He was a little bruised but not badly. He had no idea if his companion had managed to get out of the way, but for the moment, he was on his own.
Who knew what was going to happen next.

"WHAT THE HELL!" was all she got to say before she saw this beat. It was horrible looking, something you saw in nightmare. Oh she was going to die she just knew it. Die and never be able to wear the wonderful dress.
She jump out of the way just in the nick of time but when she open her eyes to see if she did she felt a pricing pain in her head. Oh man was it horrible. She rubbed her temples and moan in pain. She smile only because she didn't die but such an ugly thing.

First Joce was yelling at her, again. There was a giant ******** whale floating through the sky and Joce was yelling at her about plants. Plants, of all things.
The young woman would have protested; there was a protest right on the tip of her tongue, but then there was sound... Followed by no sound... Followed soon by the feeling of her body slipping towards the center of a rather large hole that had been blasted in the middle of their sweet, safe Rainbow Road.
Her fingers were grasping at the edge as she tried to keep herself from slipping. She could feel her mouth moving, knowing somewhere that her lips were forming words that she couldn't hear. No longer cool or collected, not even trying to form theories, now Regina was just crying when she should have been thrilled that she was inches away from SPACE: THE FINAL FRONTIER.
"Infinite Improbability. This is infinitely improbable..." She kept repeating out loud, likely louder than she'd intended as she couldn't hear the words coming from her own mouth. "Infinitely improbable..." Eyes closed tightly as she continued to grasp for purchase, waiting for a ship to sweep up and save her.

And that was just about all Gemini Beta was able to say before the GIANT SPACE WHALE decided it was time for everyone to clear out. Except for the fact that the Zodiacs weren't about to bail at a time like this, so that whale was s**t outta luck. Or they were, it was hard to tell at this point.
When most people saw something hurtling towards them, they did one of two things -- they ran for cover or, if the thing hurtling towards them was going too fast, they jumped out of the way like any sane person would. Micky did neither. In the instant the space between herself an some of the other civis suddenly became non-existent, the female half of Gemini had already grabbed one of the afore mentioned civilians she had coaxed into coming closer to her drunken self and had successfully launched them out of danger. Unfortunately, this meant bad things for her. Not that she wasn't used to it, but it was getting kinda old -- how many times could the Zodiacs try to get themselves killed? The world would never know -- it was part of their jobs, after all. As the road completely collapsed, half of the senshi of duality barely managed to grab onto something before being hurled off into space, clutching onto it like it was a lifeline. It was also no surprise to her to see Virgo and Zue had had similar luck. Go figure.
"Zue, Captain!" she yelled across the void, trying to climb up and out of danger (and kinda failing miserably,) "Status check, you guys ok?"
Except... wait... what was that ringing? It was drowning out what she was screaming at them!

More and more not-aliens in strange, frilly costumes showed up, along with a talking cat. Well, the cat turned into a cat-boy, so that wasn’t so bad, but it still made Darwin think that the not-aliens were lying about not being aliens. The whole fairy-winged princess thing wasn’t helping their case.
And then the world was shaking. Years of being tossed into trashcans and shoved into lockers had Darwin moving blindly from the danger, and by some miracle he managed to avoid the attack entirely. He still ended up on his back though, with Mary curled up on top of him. He patted her back awkwardly while he tried to see what happened to the others he knew.
Raven was dangling in the hole. So was Jett. That sucked. He didn’t particularly want to get closer to the giant whole made by the space dragon whale, but he couldn’t very well just let them die, now could he? That wasn’t right. Of course, he was a nerd, not a football player, so he didn’t know if he had the physical strength to save anyone.
Darwin would totally rather be battling 9,001 Gengars from the safety of his bed right now.
“ Hey, um, Mary? I think we should help them. Before they, you know, fall and die.”

Flannery heard her real name called out, and made another large, exaggerated hush on reflex. And then her brain kicked in, and she realized two very important reasons Wallace could not be the one who made the mistake.
1. It had been a girl's voice, and Wallace had not turned into a girl (yet). 2. The voice had also said Wallace's name, and Wallace didn't need to get his own attention.
Let no one say that Flannery Spicer wasn't logical, she thought with satisfaction. And she recognized that voice, didn't she? Flannery added a third reason.
3. Wallace was not Roxanne.
Flannery was thrilled. Roxanne! She turned around to call out to her friend (although not by name, of course). But just as she did, the force of a soundwave missing her by the skin of her teeth sent her staggering.

Prosper had never aspired to become an astronaut, or a sailor.
Today, it seemed, he was somehow both.
Captain Virgo had been quick to assure everyone that they were neither dead nor dreaming. Prosper rather wished that he was. If he was still alive and not unconscious, it meant that all of this was very real.
And that he was not invulnerable. Prosper yearned, suddenly fiercely, for Dorothy's ruby slippers, and even took a moment to click his heels together.
'There's no place like home. There's no place like home. There's no place-'
The first impact of the whale's great mass upon the road sent Prosper sprawling ungracefully onto his a**. He blanched in his panic, hair falling into his eyes, and was in the middle of scrambling back onto his feet when the monster doubled back for it's second attack.
There was no time for him to scramble out of the way. There was only a shock of energy, silence, and a ledge. Prosper grit his teeth where he clung to the edge of the cavity the whale had rent in the rainbow path, and paid little notice to the people flailing about around him. He couldn't hear anything they said, but he could see their mouths flapping, and ignored them in favour of getting the ******** out of there.
Or, at least, trying to.
This was one of those things that was easier said than done.
"Somebody get me a harpoon," he growled savagely under his breath, and attempted to lift himself out of the hole.

Layton wouldn'tve made it if it weren't for Felix's tug on her hand. She hadn't even seen the space whale, let alone known it was preparing a supersonic blast.
Felix didn't look so good though. He was rubbing his head like he had a migraine or something. Being her normal, motherly self, Layton said, "Are you okay? Feli-"
Then it hit her too. It was like the worst headache God could've cooked up. She immediately fell to her feet and starting cradling her head. "Owwwwww. It ... it hurtssss," she whined. Why was all of this happening? Weren't whales supposed to be nice creatures? All they ate was krill right? That's what Finding Nemo had taught her. They were nice creatures too, right? Other than killer whales, they were pretty docile right?
Layton just kept rubbing her head. This hurt so much. Her head was going to explode.

The screaming didn't stop the feeling of her head being split between her ears and eventually she was left curled in a ball whimpering. She wasn't normaly one to act like a little girl (despite being one) but she also wasn't suppose to be sitting on basically nothing in the middle of nowhere-space being attacked by a whale.
Tears still streaming down her face she managed to uncurl herself slightly and then realized something. "Amy ... Regi... oh god..." She could barely see, everything a blur of pain but neither of the other two girls was still where she could reach.
Stretching out her arm she patted the ground by her. Regina couldn't have gotten far. She'd been -sitting- on her. When her fingers found the sharp edges of the hole she screamed again. "REGINA!" Rolling over she flailed her arms around until her hands finally smacked into something that felt like flesh. "God Regi if that's you do -not- let go."

This was all just very overwhelming. The new arrivals, while intimidating, seemed to be attempting to aid their rag-tag group for unknown reasons. Or at least Felicia hoped they were helping, really there was no way to be sure. Usually this sort of unknown would bother the teen, but given the circumstances she was willing to trust these new strangers until she had a reason not to.
The first violent shudder of the road beneath them had Felicia tightening her grip on Gilbert's arm as she tripped over her own feet in a rather poor attempt to maintain her balance. "What was that?"
She didn't get an answer though, or not one she heard. Not with her entire attention focused solely the mammoth shape that seemed to be approaching them. No, not merely approaching, attacking! What little resolve the poor girl had left shattered as the whale opened it's mouth. Felicia screamed as she jerked away from Gilbert's arm. Flinching away from the sound, attempting to run, but there was no where to go, and she wasn't fast enough.
The sonic blast was deafening, and there was no sound able to penetrate through the ringing in her ears, not even her own voice as she screamed. Clinging desperately yo the edge of the hole the blast had left in the rainbow walkway. She was going to die! That whale was going to kill them. This wasn't a dream, it was a ******** nightmare!.

Which prompted the question;
