User ImageTennessee had been bracing himself for a full blown lecture and was more than a little startled when it didn't come. He could only stare after the older state in mild shock and wondered if this was some sort of trap. It unnerved him more than he would like to admit. Andrew had a distinct feeling of dread that this might be worse than a lecture, but he didn't understand what exactly was happening.

"O... ok..." Tennessee said awkwardly as he continued to watch North Carolina in utter confusion. "Are you sure you're not mad...?"

"I'm not mad..." at you She really wasn't mad, more like it bugged her more than it probably should of. Drinking seemed like the only way to get her mind off of it. It had been awhile since she had a decent beer. Of course she wasn't going to touch the illegal stuff like White Lightning that she had been known for thanks to the hillbillys in her area.

"I just need to cool off for a bit and I'll leave you two alone." she smiled and left the gym

(White lightning= moonshine)

User ImageTennessee frowned and was glad that his sister wasn't mad at him, but he was still worried. North Carolina really did seem upset. He'd probably need to apologize later but leaving her alone for now would be for the best.

It was only when Charlotte said her goodbyes that Andrew realized for the first time he really was alone with Seychelles. The state blushed deeply and couldn't help feeling a little nervous. When he got nervous he said dumb things so he was already afraid to open his mouth. Awkward silences wouldn't be any good, though.

Oh! Right! Georgia had definitely been in the bathroom more than five minutes now, right? He wasn't running away if he was just going to check on his brother's well being. Andrew had said he would before the 'French state' arrived so it was legit. Totally legit.

"Um... I'm going to check on my brother real quick," Andrew said as he went to the locker room. "I'll be right back. He got a head injury earlier and I want to make sure he's ok."

Just then, Georgia had one of his infamous timings. It could either be good or bad depending on the situation other people were in, so rather than label it as good timing or bad was hard to determine.

He walked out of the locker room, holding his stomach with a slightly pale look to his face. He had already changed into his normal clothing and you could see he was chewing on something (although, he was trying to make a habit of quitting tobacco, so what was in his mouth was more likely gum than it was chew). His bag was swung over his shoulder and he smiled Tennessee weakly.
"Ah, was I in there long? Sorry. It was sort of a good thing I hit my head when I did. Boy, I ate never touching next-to-a-gas station chili cheese dog stand ever again." He turned his head and burped in a way so his cheeks inflated and he let it out in a sort of hiss rather than belch out since that was rude. He took a sip of the deflated coke that was in his hand and could feel the upset feeling he had been suffering from while he was puking in the bathroom go away. "Don't worry 'bout me none, though. I've pro'lly eaten more questionable things and suffered worse for it. I'll be fine by supper. Say, where'd Miss Charlotte go? Boy, it looks mighty dark out. I really was in there long, wasn't I? Shoot, I'm sorry 'bout that, Tennessee. I really hope I didn't ruin things for y'all..." He pouted lightly. The one time in a while that the three of them could hang out, and George had to get some bug because he trusted some shady guy's cooking. Though, as he said, he was going to be fine. At this point, he had a gut of steal. It was rare for something like this to keep him down for long.

User ImageTennessee came to a halt when he saw Georgia emerge and could only blink at his brother in surprise. Maybe it had been way longer than five minutes after all. He felt a little guilty for not realizing his brother hadn't been feeling well or checking on him sooner.

"Uh... don't worry about it. At least you're ok," Andrew said with a shake of his head. "North Carolina said she was going to the bar..." He had to look away as he said that when a pang of guilt rushed through him. Even though Tennessee didn't understand the reason why exactly his sister was upset he had enough sense to know it was him who drove her to drink with his comment. He never had been a very good little brother to her, had he? It always seemed like Andrew caused her more grief and trouble than anything. No wonder she had ceded him so readily to America...

Tennessee quickly tried to shake off those thoughts. There was no sense in worrying about it or the past now. He would just apologize and it would be water under the bridge just like all their other disagreements.

"I guess we're done playing for today so I should probably change, too," he said and tried to flash a smile before hurrying to get out of his gym clothes.

Huh? Now what was with that pang of guilt on Andrew's face? Was something bothering him? He said that North Carolina had gone to the bar, and he seemed a little upset for not knowing how much time had gone by.... Oh! That must be it! His little brother was feeling guilty. Maybe he and Charlotte had another one of their infamous disagreements. That, mixed with him not knowing Christian was tossing what cookies he had over the past few hours was probably gnawing on his feelings. This caused Christian to get a kicked puppy look on his face when Andrew was out of sight. "Aww, shucks. Kid's as sensitive to his older siblings feelings as ever. I should go reassure him I ain't mad at him." Because that sort of idea is always a good idea. (- u - )b

He came into the locker room and went straight up to his brother. Disregarding whether Andrew was dressed, half dressed, or standing in his tidies, Christian pulled his younger brother into a hug and squeezed him tight.
"Now Andy, no need to feel guilty. I didn't know I was sick myself until I started gettin' sick. There's no need to beat yourself up. Besides, I'm your big brother. It's my job to keep you safe an' healthy, not the other way around." You wouldn't have guessed Christian had been sick not too long ago. His breath currently smelled like the lemonade flavored gum that was in his mouth and the scent of the Coca-Cola he had drunken to calm his stomach in the first place. Plus, he always seemed to have the faint scent of peaches and fresh-picked cotton on him even though it had been such a long time since he had picked either. With how he was acting now, it was clear he was already fine and over it. Hell, his stomach was even growling, which meant he was hungry. (As wrong as that may be...)

User ImageTennessee had just pulled on his pants and was about to reach for his shirt when he heard someone enter. He looked over his shoulder and was surprised to see his brother coming at him.

"What? Is somethin' wron--" Andrew made an awkward squeaking noise when his personal space was invaded and he was squeezed against another person. He felt as if his whole body was turning red this time and he couldn't tell if it was more from anger or embarrassment. Hugs were tolerable (and sometimes even appreciated) under normal circumstances, but he didn't have a shirt on! What was Georgia thinking!?

Just as Tennessee was tensing to either punch or toss his sibling in retaliation, Christian's words started to sink in. He blinked lightly and stilled at the old familiar scent that was so unmistakably Georgia. Times had changed so much, but that odd combination of peaches and cotton was the exact same as the first time his brother had embraced him as one of the family. He suddenly felt like such a little kid again. Why did Georgia randomly have to have these mature, big brother moments when he least expected them? The younger state's eyes almost slid shut as he subconsciously began to accept the hug until he heard the stomach growl. He pulled away a little as he was snapped back to reality and stared at Christian a moment before a laugh escaped him.

"You're hungry after all that?" he said more than asked. "You just got a concussion, busted your nose, threw up and you're hungry?"

Georgia chuckled lightly at his brother's question on his hunger. "You forgot the part where I almost got a tomahawk to the head and then figured out the mystery of European Gee-oh-rah-gee-ah~! It's been a real busy day, and all I ate today was that hot dog that made me sick." He released Tennessee from the hug and stepped back to give him some space (about a foot's worth, but it was still there) before he grinned and put a hand on his brother's shoulder. "So how's 'bout you get dressed and we'll go to town an' get us a bite to eat. My treat~!" Yeah, his economy sucked, but that didn't mean he couldn't handle taking family out for food every once in a while would put him into any more debt than he already was in.

User ImageAndrew's smile turned into a look of near awe. He couldn't remember the last time he'd been out to eat. Even fast food had become something of a treat lately. The anticipation of a good meal brightened his normally dull eyes so they nearly sparkled.

"Really? You sure? You don't have to do that," he said instinctively although he was quick to pull on his shirt while he spoke. Tennessee didn't want to hold Georgia up when his stomach was growling. It wasn't because he was excited or anything. Andrew wasn't a kid anymore so he wouldn't get excited over something like food that easily. At least Andrew liked to think he wasn't still that simple and childish, but the look on his face and sudden shift in mood said otherwise. He had temporarily forgotten all about the issue with North Carolina in his enthusiasm.

Christian smiled warmly at his brother's reaction. It was nice to see that Tennessee still got excited over the little things in life. He'd had it pretty rough as a kid which caused him to always be so serious. It almost made you wonder if he could get excited. Stuff like seeing is family happy always made Georgia's day.

He gave a light, carefree shrug of his shoulders.
"Of course! I reckon you're hungry as well. After all, we both got here past lunch and I don't think I've seen you munching on anything. Besides, you look like you need to put on a little weight. You're getting skinny, little brother." Of course, he was joking about that. He said that about any one when it came to food. If anything, he was the one that needed to gain some weight. Too bad he has such a freakishly high metabolism. Actually, no. It was a good thing. If he didn't have such a high metabolism, then eveyrone would be able to tell just how often he visited The Varsity. It was practically a miracle he hadn't had a heart attack! (Didn't make the food any less delicious, though.)

He looked up and thought for a moment before he smiled.
"Hey, think any one else in the family's here yet? South probably wants to just hang out at the bar, but I'm sure someone else would like to join us. It could be fun!"

User ImageTennessee just rolled his eyes at being called skinny. If Christian had it his way everyone would be half a calorie away from a heart attack. Not that Andrew's eating habits were much better, but he was trying to work on it. Sort of. Well, not really, but in his defense it was hard adjusting to this more sedentary lifestyle that had developed over the last few decades. If he had more time to get outside like he used to then it wouldn't be a problem.

"I forgot all 'bout lunch," Andrew admitted thoughtfully as he slipped his guitar back over his shoulders. Now that he was thinking about food he really was getting hungry... The younger state's mind started to wonder as he thought about what he might eat for dinner, but his attention snapped back to Georgia when he asked about the rest of the family.

"Um... Texas and Michigan are 'round here somewhere but I don't know where they got off to," Tennessee said with a small shrug. "We could text them and see if they want to join us."

Georgia thought for a moment. "Knowing them, they probably already ate or have plans," he mumbled to himself. He then smiled back to Tennessee. "Alright then. Then it's just us two tonight. C'mon. Let's go see what kind of places this town's got to eat."

User ImageTennessee couldn't agree more, nodded with a little extra enthusiasm and started to walk out of the locker room with nothing but dinner on his mind. However, he stopped short when he felt something small, pink and annoying attach to his leg. Andrew had almost forgotten about Violet. "You can't come. Go back to the dorm," he said sternly.

Violet only looked up at him with her big doe eyes. She couldn't speak, but her expression very clearly stated, "I will follow you anywhere and you will never be rid of me because my love for you far exceeds what is considered healthy."

The state mumbled a few choice swears and insults he wouldn't want to repeat in front of their sisters. Instead of trying to kick her off, Andrew bent down and picked her up to carry the piglet in his arms. Violet was one of the greatest nuisances in Tennessee's life, but he didn't want her to fall behind stalking him and get hurt when they walked through town.

Tennessee wasn't the only one who had forgotten about Violet the piglet. He smiled lightly and gave a small chuckle at the sight of his brother carrying the pig like a baby. "Boy, that pig clings to you tighter than a flea on a dog. How do you think she's going to handle having to stay in the dorm when it's time for school?" Would the restaurants even allow the pig through the door? He could think of one door they would allow her through, but not so she could eat at the table... She would end up at one, though.

He went to the door and held it open for his brother and the little pink companion before leaving the locker room as well. He saw Seychelles and gave a polite and warm smile to her along with a small nod of his head.
"Evening, ma'm." He turned his attention back to his brother and smiled. "Think we should drop a few things off at the dorm or just head straight to food?" He didn't want the pig catching onto him. Say what you want, but that little pink admirer of Andrew's was quite the smart thing. Georgia was half convinced he saw her climb a tree once to try and get into Tennessee's house....

User Image"I don't know..." Tennessee said with a grave expression as he dreaded tomorrow's classes. "She's followed me into war zones before." He nodded in thanks to Georgia when he held the door and blushed at the sight of Cherelle.

Violet didn't like the blush and shot Seychelles a look that could melt through steel. An angry snort escaped her but when Andrew curiously glanced in her direction, the devilish glare instantly transformed into sparkly doe eyes again. Tennessee blinked at her but decided the noise must have been his imagination. Once his eyes were off Violet and back on her new nemesis she started glaring again.

"See you in class," Andrew said a little awkwardly as he waved at the girl. He turned his attention back to Georgia and nodded. "Yeah, let's go to the dorms first. We should put up our gym clothes." It was hard to tell if he got what Christian had in mind. Tennessee was always pretty straight forward and trickery of any form didn't come naturally to him nor did he expect it from others. He was capable of it, but even his attempts at innocent white lies were awkward and usually easy to see through.
