Best: Faval, Ishtar is a pain in the a**, and since most people (ie: me [sorry Levin!Arthur, I love you n' all still] 90% of the time) go with Levin!Sety, Holsety is out of the question, Faval is one of few who can do jack s**t to her. I know Ishtar isn't the prime concern of FE4, but extra holy weapon usage (that is ranged to add) also helps.
Worst: Ronan, although he can take magic hits like a boss, too bad he can't hurt anything without scroll abuse and is outclassed by Tanya, who quite honestly, has supports with Othlin who is the second coming of Jesus.

The Lolwut Pear Worst: Ronan, although he can take magic hits like a boss, too bad he can't hurt anything without scroll abuse and is outclassed by Tanya, who quite honestly, has supports with Othlin who is the second coming of Jesus.Putting my reasoning for worst in this post. And Tanya's support with Othin is PRECISELY why I put Ronan for Worst, as I think ignoring supports, they both have different advantages, and both are pretty bad as units. Objectively speaking, Ronan will increase his weapon ranks faster and his ability to take magic hits can come in handy in plenty of chapters. Plus, he has two Movement Stars so he can go twice in one turn quite often, which is really nifty (that combined with his higher starting Weapon experience is what ensures he can use better bows faster than Tanya can, which could somewhat make up for his horrendous Str growth). Movement stars are quite notable, I'd argue. But Tanya has a better growth distrubution, and more importantly, supports Dagda and Othin. That Dagda support is a huge boon in 8x, and the Othin support could be seen as reason enough to field her when she'd be completely useless otherwise later on.

Best: Minerva (FE3 [mainly Book 1 as Paola and Katua are godly in Book 2, but she's more needed in Book 1])- She's promoted, joins early, good all round stats, doesn't need a Master Proof to promote, and in the DS version, max proficiency with axes, why the hell not use her? Your only other options are Sheeda who is squishy in FE3 without the Wing Spear and the Pegasus Sisters who join rather late.
Worst: Eda (FE5), One of few only times I actually use promoted units opposed to non-promoted (Dean >>>>> Eda) units (I guess I like my DK's already promoted opposed to have to raise them? xD ). She comes in a silly chapter, 90% of enemies shoot long ranged magic by this point (at least Dean can take hits) and needs a more than scarce Knight Proof to promote her that can go to someone else.

Best: FE7 Heath
Worst: FE5 Eda
For Heath, yes I know you get him later than you get two of your flying units. However, I have found him to be a great asset to my team. Each time I use him, he gets amazing stats. On top of that, he is generally the best of the fliers I get. I've seen his supports for a couple people, such as Priscilla and Louise, and I found his character to be one I like
For Eda, you get her at level five in the chapter where you need to defend as much as you can. That chapter is pure hell if you are under leveled. On top of that, you get a better flying unit on your team: Dean. He's a promoted Dragon Knight that already has an A rank in both swords and lances. He also gets his own personal weapon: The Dragon Lance. I forgot what it gives him, but it makes him a complete asset to your team. Another reason why I didn't use her was the fact that you already have one flier who could be good for you: Karen. She comes at a decent level and you have enough time to develop her.

I been waiting for this one.
Best: Miledy (FE6) - From all the Wyvern riders, she is my single definite favorite of them all. Her uses as a tank and as a fast quick-strike unit are as close to perfection as I could want. With her legendary, she's more beast. Paired with Zeiss, she's even more beast. She and he can take Gale and all of his little wyvern knight friends whilst the others head for Murdock in that one chapter with the insane wyvern rush - that's how effective she is for me.
Worst: Valter (FE cool - Since he's playable, i'm counting him. Boy, this guy was just a disappointment in the story mode - he still disappoints in Bonus.

Firstly: Rebecca beat FE10 Shinon for best? I'm a little bit in shock. That's mind-boggling to me.
Now, onto this week's topic…
Best: FE10 Haar
There are a lot of really awesome Wyvern Knights/Lords to consider… FE10 Haar, Dean, and Miledy are at the top of the list (Cormag and Altenna are honorable mentions, but don't quite measure up). Miledy is a ******** tank and more than reliably strong, AND she has good support options. Best flier in that game, hands down. Dean is also pretty much the ONLY reliable flyer in FE5 when it comes to fighting, and he certainly is awesome at it. Personal weapon that grants Ambush and functions as a Brave Weapon, but with 60 uses? Yeah, Dean is fierce. Awesome weapon ranks, viability even when dismounted (starting with an A in Swords in his class is ******** incredible), not costing a promotion item, and support with Linoan only helps. But as awesome as both Miledy and Dean are, Haar is even better, I'd argue. To begin with, while both Dean and Miledy have arrow weaknesses which can potentially limit where they can safely travel, Haar has the benefit of in one of the boosted classes of FE10 - no bow weakness and no wind magic weakness. Just a lol-nerfed thunder magic weakness that hardly even shows up on enemies. On top of that, he is quite literally your strongest most versatile unit for a good section of the game, and his level means he's going to be one of your first to become Third Tier (OH! His Mastery Skill has a much higher activation rate than those for most other beorc classes, so that's a major boon for him as well). Flying utility is a godsend for many of the Pt 3 chapters he's in to such an extent that it seals the deal for him being the best of the three.
Worst: Eda
Hella-underleveled, but with flyer utility. Too bad everyone else in this class gets flyer utility, too. I suppose you COULD invest a ton of resources into her to make her good (she's got pretty good growths), but in the process of doing so, you're running out of outdoor chapters for her to shine in anyway. I actually considered Heath as well, because you get him at an awfully inconvenient time. But Heath's not bad if you're determined to use him. Eda is. Zeiss is in a similar situation to Heath, in addition to being completely outshone by his sister (and Vaida gets saved from being considered for being a flying tank that doesn't need a promotion item). But everyone is many a mile ahead of Eda.

I don't think Valter counts. He's not so much a playable unit throughout the entire game as much as he is an unlockable unit for after the game.
Also, WTF man, Valter is like the only character that actually made the game good.

Just curious: Why so much anti-FE9 Jill going around? It's not like she's the best out there, but I've always thought she was legit. Pretty good availability, Mist's best support option (and vice-versa), and good growths.
