She blushed slightly as he did so, but was glad that she was no longer walking around with ink on her face. She climbed with Lucas up to the owlery. She shivered a few times because of the cold and wind and zipped her coat up farther to ward it off. "This letter sucks but at least it catches them up some." She said laughing at herself. She rushed in writing it and couldn't exactly remember everything. "I left out the part about me getting drunk though. Only person in my family I would tell about that is Riley. He'd enjoy hearing that. I'd just get reprimanded by Brian and mom." She said smiling and walking into the tower.
Fionna walked over to Carmen and called her down. She turned to Lucas first and raised her eyebrow in question and asked, "Did you want to read it? It's got a lot about you in it after all." She smiled at the end as she held Carmen on her arm and twirled the rolled up letter in her other hand.
Dear Mom, Riley, Brian, and Simon
I'm so sorry I haven't written in forever. I've just been so busy with everything going on that you are soon to find out. Where do I even begin? Well you remember me telling you about the guy I met on the train. He was really sweet and sincere and I believe it turned into a crush at some point but I would not be able to specify when. I got to know him and we became friends. Oh wait I forgot to tell you about Caiden! So things were awkward between us especially when he saw me hanging out with Lucas on the quidditch pitch. This isn't going well. I can't remember the order things happened in!
Well I caught Lucas sneaking out of the common room once and I had to take away a lot of points. I got really mad at him and started ignoring him. It hurt a lot. I couldn't stand it and a part of me kept telling myself to forgive him but I just couldn't. I believe this was around the time that Caiden and I became friends again and started a new. He convinced me in the common room one night to forgive Lucas. I suppose I would have come around eventually on my own but he gave me the push I needed. What happened next?
Oh I don't know! I'll just go on randomly and you can figure things out. So I forgave Lucas and we became friends again. I really loved him. He was so funny and awesome I just wanted him to ask me out, but he never did. I kept noticing some things about him. Like his graying hair and bags under his eyes and how he was always gone on the full moon. Of course, I never made the connection that I'll tell you in a minute.
Wait wait backup I forgot about this cruel little girl I met. Her name is Rhiannon. She really is a monster. Killed and drank the blood on a unicorn with her father who was a death eater. I probably should not have kept antagonizing her. She used an unforgiveable curse on me one day in the dungeons along with dark magic. As you know, I'm not dead so it wasn't that one. She tortured me. Yea I'm fine though. Was a little shocked for a bit, but Lucas got me through it mostly. So she went to azkaban cuz of me for a month. I'm not going to go into much more detail on this it's really not worth it. I had to go to her trial though and learned that her father had his soul sucked out of him by a dementor. Let's see. Enough about this git. Back to my love life.
Sooooo I kept getting closer and closer to Lucas until he started pushing me away and I got really confused but I forgive him for everything because I know it was necessary. One day we were at quidditch practice, Lucas was feeling really tired. You could see it. He didn't look good but he insisted on practicing anyway. He fell asleep on him broom and feel like 25feet. He was fine and Al and I brought him to the hospital wing. The crazy part happens now. I came back later wanting to make sure he was alright and I walked in on the headmistress giving him a potion. Said potion was wolfsbane. That's when everything clicked and I figured out he was a werewolf. Now I know you might be thinking what was I thinking but I freaked out until the Headmistress explained everything to me. He's good. He hasn't ever hurt a human and has never bitten one. That night we became boyfriend and girlfriend and still are.
I decided that night to learn to be an animagus with or without the Headmistress' help. Turns out she knew I would try on my own if she didn't help me and she started giving me lessons. I've practiced hard to be with Lucas on full moons. I'm a snow leopard animagus. Really beautiful. I'll show you when I get home. I went with Lucas on the last full moon with the headmistress' supervision. Everything went well. In fact, better than expected. That's most of what has happened. Oh gosh I forgot about a part. Caiden figured out Lucas was a werewolf and dueled him in the great hall because he thought I was in danger. He still really cared about me but he's trying to move on and we're mending our friendship. I found out Caiden never cheated on me. It was a big misunderstanding.

Lucas smiled while he read the letter. He felt a pang of guilt here and there, he knew Fionna had liked him, but he didn't know she'd wanted him to ask her out for that long, he was kinda blind to that...he had pushed her away, but he had to...he was scared she'd find out. But she did, and it was, as she said, 'better than expected', it was all he ever dreamed of. He handed her back the letter and said, "Thanks. I hope they don't mind us dating. But you've given me and idea...I really feel like I should tell my parents, too. Just so they know. It's better that they get used to the idea before you visit in February." He kept smiling, but he was a bit nervous. He'd never written to his parents before...
Dear Mother, Father, and Catherine,
I hope you're all doing well and that this letter didn't come at an inconvenient time. I've written to let you know that yes, the secret you tried to keep was discovered by a few people and I pray you can understand why.
I met a girl on the Hogwarts Express, Fionna. She's the Gryffindor prefect and she caught me sneaking out on fullmoon, she had to take away points. I was devastated to lose her as a friend, but she slowly came to forgave me. However, shortly after, I fell off a broomstick and was taken to the hospital wing. No damage, I'm fine, I didn't write at this point because so much had been happening.
Fionna and I started dating when she discovered my secret, and the Headmistress's daughter Al was told as well, she had many suspicions. Anyways, another girl, Rhiannon, already knew me. She was related to the werewolves that attacked me some 6 years ago, so she already knew me from that time, she'd helped dragged me out of the woods.
Lastly, Fionna's ex-boyfriend Caiden cared for Fionna's well-being and could tell I was 'dangerous' to Fionna, so we fought and he was told about my secret so that he'd know I was no threat to him and the situation was already taken care of. In short, Fionna, my girlfriend knows, and may be coming to visit February break. Al, the Headmistress's daughter and Caiden were both told because they are both extremely sharp and were sure to figure it out on their own. Rhiannon already knew. I do hope you'll forgive me for not being more protective, I swear to you that no one else shall know.
p.s. Fionna is an animagus, she became one for my sake, so that she could still see me on full moons. This is overseen by the Headmaster, so there's no chance of the lycanthropy spreading.
Lucas
It was oddly formal, like an apology. He had to tell them everything, what they were in for, though. He knew he'd get punished or something for letting people find out, and for allowing his girlfriend to be near him on full moon. But no matter what they made him suffer through...he had Fionna by his side. That was enough, he didn't really care. He let Fionna read it, she let him read her letter, it was only fair.

"I'm sure they won't. Well Brian might be a bit skeptical but he's a prune." She told him with a smile. "Go ahead." She added when he said he was going to write a letter. She watched him and didn't read it until Lucas let her. She was curious. It seemed pretty formal, but it seemed fine to her.
She smiled at him before letting Carmen fly off. "You know, I'm thinking about getting a cat. Being a leopard has really made me fond of them." Fionna joked with a grin in her face. Then another thought struck her from earlier. "I just realized that you know practically nothing of my family." She said stating her thought. "That is going to need to change." She added while taking Lucas' hand in her own again.

Lucas sent the letter off and grinned at Fionna.
"Why don't we head to the common room. I'd love to hear about them, they sound really nice, honestly."
Lucas didn't know much about Fionna's family, but what he did know was good tings. They had their flaws, but they weren't awful people. Speaking of awful people, he knew Fionna would question him about his family, but he was prepared for that. He wouldn't lie, but he wouldn't be too hard on them. They were only mean to him, and with luck, they'd treat her like a honored guest as they did everyone else.
He headed up to the common room with her, hand in hand.

Lucas walked up to the owlery with Fionna after everything that had just happened in the common room. He hoped Drago would forgive Al, it was Richard's fault for being a slimy, sneaky, disgusting person. He wouldn't, however, give Rhiannon the satisfaction of seeing Al cry, like she'd wanted in the note. Al didn't need to be humiliated any further.
He didn't ask any questions when we got there and Fionna was about to send the letter, Fionna really had a family to send letters to, people who truly cared. Sometimes he wished he had that, the mother and the father he'd lost, but he'd honestly gotten over it. He figured they just did their best to protect the people around him, and maybe that was good. It kept people safe, at least, even if it wasn't him.

   I MIGHT LOSE MY MIND FOR A WHILE
BUT I'LL BE FINE HAVE YOU HEARD THERE'S THIS THING THAT HEALS AND IT'S CALLED TIME ▂▃▃▄▄▄▅▅▅▅▄▄▄▃▃▂ Fionna walked up to the chilly owlery with Lucas. The days were really cold now and They had already seen the first snowfall. Actually, there had been more than one, and Fionna was not pleased. She hated snow. Luckily, most the ice on the stairs was melted and there was no slips as they climbed the stairs.
Fionna called to Carmen and attached the letter for Riley. Before she flew off, Fionna gave her a treat and talked to her for a moment before letting her fly off. She then turned to Lucas and grinned saying, "Now where shall we go? The Courtyard?" She just wanted to be with Lucas and did not care where that was.

Could you do me a favor and send me notebook #4. I know you'll be able to find it. It's hidden in my secret stash. You've probably already read most of it years ago since I haven't written in it in a while, so I don't care if you look through it, but please send it asap. I've gotten some inspiration.

Bobby Grimmjow - 3rd year Hufflepuff Bobby walked into the owlery to check on Grindle, his hawk owl. He hadn't seen him for a while and wanted to give him a treat. He looked around and after a while, saw that Grindle wasn't there. He must be flying around outside. Bobby thought as he turned to leave. Just then, he heard a familiar hoot and turned around in time to watch as Grindle flew in through one of the windows and landed on Bobby's shoulder. "Hey Grindle. How have you been? Are all of the others treating you right? Speaking of treat, here you go." He pulled a sesame stick out of his pocket and Grindle snapped it up happily, right away. Bobby lightly patted him on the head and noticed when Grindle's leg moved, there was a note tied to it. He untied it and read it.
Dear Bobby,
I've heard that everything is going great for you at Hogwarts and I'm glad that you've met some friends. I am sorry to say, though, that I have been given a new case and I with have to work through the entire holiday. That means you have to spend Christmas at school this year. The Feast on Christmas day is excellent though.
I swear I will make it up to you son.

Bobby placed Grindle on of the rafters and left the owlery with his shoulders sagging. This wasn't the first time his dad had to work through Christmas. 6 years ago his dad had worked an important case trying to figure out how some muggles were getting their hands on wizard chess sets and selling them for Christmas gifts. He wasn't even home for a whole month. Bobby had to spend Christmas with his aunt, the 'half breed' hater. Of coarse his dad didn't know that his sister hated 'half breeds' until she slipped up a year later in front of him. But that Christmas was horrible. Hopefully this one would be better. He just walked back to the common room depressed. ((It's tough when your mum abandons you when you're a baby. But what can you do when she's a Giant and you're too small? Picture at 8 years old --> wink )
