Hidden Arc That one night Hidden Arc Little Miss Fortune Hidden Arc Little Miss Fortune No one said you couldn't talk about them. I just don't understand why anyone would feel the need to talk about them in the serious discussion forum in a thread that's meant for discussing... masculine issues ._. Because a lot of games were designed for men. O_O Ever seen God of War? O_O
Nope. But I just googled it, and its Wikipedia page doesn't say "HEY! THIS IS FOR MEN!" so I'm not sure where you're getting that. Do you have a link to something that says it's only for men?Nope, but does women go around playing it like crazy? I've got to say I enjoyed that game. :3 Yes, yes they do. You do realize that the gamer market is 50% male and 50% female right? In fact what you would call manly games are the games that girl gamers enjoy the most. I'll look for some links to back th is up later. True but it was mostly made for the male audience as I see it, not that I'm saying girls don't play it, but if based on characteristics, why would developers make a very gory game for girls rather than boys? Dude, get out more. Girls love gory games way more then dudes. Well atleast thats how it is over here.

The only reason game developers are still making violent and gory games mainly male orientated is because there's still a lingering bit of the idea that women wont play games if they aren't about horses or babies or losing weight or whatever. The majority of developers are catching on that that isn't the case now, and are adapting to it.
Also, I played, and enjoyed, God of War. I don't think gender has much effect on enjoyment of games at all, just personal taste.
Anyway, done adding my little bit to a two day old discussion...

It's not a contest of who loves WoW more or not. o3o The fact is, though, more guys play video games on older consoles then girls do. Quote: Steady but Slow Road for Consoles More young girls are being exposed to console games, especially as their fathers introduce them to that world as a way to bond with them. In late November, president of Nintendo America, Reggie Fils-Aime presented several data points outlining the current gender breakdown of console play in the U.S. Reggie estimates there are 45 million people playing video games as the primary players in the U.S. Of those, Nintendo is estimating 26% are female, or roughly 11.7 million. Of those, 80% are on the Wii, 11% are on the Xbox 360 and 9% are on the PS3. Wii - 80% = 9.3 million X360 - 11% = 1.29 million PS3 - 9% = 1.05 million Total = 11.7 million Females Source. So if the total is around 11.7 million females out of 45 million people in total, it comes out to about 74% male, 26% female. That's a pretty big gap.

...why is it that people seem to feel men can't have issues? For that matter, why is it that we as men don't seem to be willing to talk about the ones we have? I mean, I know I touched on this concept earlier but... why the big block and taboo against admitting they exist? What's really wrong with it?

There's nothing sexist about facts, just how you spin them. Gaming might very well be 50/50, but not all games are the same. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that a higher percentage of female gamers play the Sims than Counter Strike.

Nespin Fernagon ...why is it that people seem to feel men can't have issues? For that matter, why is it that we as men don't seem to be willing to talk about the ones we have? I mean, I know I touched on this concept earlier but... why the big block and taboo against admitting they exist? What's really wrong with it? Other men take the piss out of you. (I'm sorry I'm a woman intruding again please forgive me). Personally, if men are worried about what women think they shouldn't be, I don't mind if a man talks about his problems with me. The only thing that weirds me out is when men cry in front of me (fair enough if it's happy tears, you're in severe pain or someone you know has just died... but like... some other times I've seen guys crying makes me uncomfortable)

I'm not saying that since I cried a lot, although my crying really is some effect of trauma or something as I see it since I cry when I'm angry which would be caused by the bullying I suffered for 4 years(that's just given as some sort of example). People are capable of emotion, and sadness is one of those emotions.
