Devonte was relieved that the time had come for these trouble makers to leave.

"I'll meet you in the stables, daring," Scarlet called as she slipped out the door. "Please hurry!"

She sprinted down the hall in a blur towards the wing that lead to the underground stables, but she literally ran into Val. Damping her momentum enough to keep them from colliding painfully, she still ended up pressed close with her arms around his shoulders.

"Oof! Precious, you really must learn to dodge. Unless this was your intention," she teased, giving him a squeeze.

Scarlet's eyelashes swept low, two shadowy crescents against her cheeks, as if she was used to putting up with lewd conversation. Then with a meaningful smile, she grabbed his hand, lacing her fingers in his, and pulled him down the hallways and cooridors until they arrived in a cavern deep under tha castle.

"We're not taking a jet, precious. Too many no-fly zones between here and Japan. Instead, we'll go by dragon!" She gestured grandly to the two ebony creatures curled up in nests of ashes. They were very serpentine, like Asian dragons, but had less fur and more spines, similar to western dragons. With a snap of Scarlet's fingers, goblin-like minions (really, humans so deformed they could no longer work alongside normal members of their race) scrambled out of holes and cracks in the walls to gently rouse the dragons and coax them into the harness. "Our carriage," Scarlet indicated a black vestal shaped roughly like a spear-head that could obviously be strapped between the two dragons. "We'll be able to travel safely through sunlight and radar. It's not quite as fast as a modern jet, but it gets the job done."

Scarlet smiled at her friends distress. True, the business of dragon taming and training was risky--and depending wholly on the dragon in question--but Boris and Doris were well suited to domestic life.

"Darling, you'll have to find another neck," she teased. "I have a green one over here in my cooler--"

She went to a perfectly normal red cooler, the kind that would be at any tailgate party. She pulled out a bottle of chilled spirits.

"Is this what you had in mind? I was saving it for the flight, but I packed a few extra bottles," she said with a smile. "The dragons really are useful, even if we won't arrive until sundown local time. They radiate magic, you know. It cloaks us from radar more effective than anything humans can come up with. Also, it prevents tattle tales like you wouldn't believe!"

"In that case," Scarlet grinned. She pulled the plug with her teeth and took a swing right from the emerald lip of the bottle before passing it to her friend. "Enjoy, dear one."

Scarlet leaned in to lick the drops of liqueur from his lapels and throat.

"No worries, darling. I've brought plenty of spirits. We'll freshen up when we get to Japan at my personal hot springs. Then it's down to business," she purred close to his ear. "Devonte should be bringing your Mouse by soon, so you can tease her in the bath, and we'll leave just as soon as my body guard gets here."

Just as she predicted, Devonte entered the stable, dragging Mouse behind him. He roughly pushed her at Val with a slight curl to his lips. After a cold glare at Scarlet, he left without a word.

Still, the three of them waited. With Val's attention momentarily on his prize, Scarlet became bored. Her flirtaous smile flickered and wavered. She stamped her foot in annoyance.

"Where is that studly cyclops? He's trying my patience," she snapped. "I'm just about ready to leave without him!"
