Liana Mierlia
Liana nodded her head "Yes I have been out of the country, I have visited a lot of different places but this is the first time living in a country outside of United States" she said to him.
"And I know what you mean, I tend to avoid politics and I don't really like discussing what my father does, his success level tends to either make people uncomfortable or jealous" she said shrugging her shoulders and glancing out the window again.

Emerson laughed at Liana's blunt rebuff; apparently, yanks were a lot more open about such things then other, more "polite" Europeans. With that much power in the entire world, how could we not be jealous, or uncomfortable?
"Hint taken; I'll just stop talking now. Mess around on the radio if you want; there's usually some pretty good stuff on there. Who knows? Maybe you'll even find something you like, Yank."

A sigh came out of her lips hearing him calling her a yank yet again. She shook her head "Are you ever going to stop calling me a yank?" she asked him "It's annoying to be called that and slightly irritating too" she admitted she didn't even care if that was being too forward because Lia liked to speak her mind.
She looked at the radio and then back at him "And I doubt that you have anything on your radio that is remotely good" she joked and smiled.

"Why stop? I think it matches your personality. And it certainly matches your home land. Look, if it makes you feel any better, a lot of people like to call me 'Em' for a weird reason. I hate it."
Not entirely untrue; he didn't mind it too much when Amelia called him that. He could tell with her that it was clearly an endearment. Emerson smiled over at Liana.
"You'd never know if you don't try. Or I could just keep talking, and stuff my foot farther and farther into my food."

She tilted her head thinking for a minute "Em" she said trying it out and then she scrunched her nose up and shook her head. "That sounds more of a nickname for a girl" she told him and then chuckled while glancing at him.
Lia looked more confused though at what he said next "Shove your foot farther and farther into your food?" she asked him "Is that some kind of slang like dig yourself more deeper into a hole?" she was still smiling as she said this finding it funny.

"Yeah, I know; I get that all the time. It drives me crazy. It's part of the reason why I don't like the name."
Emerson laughed lightly. He'd learned that it was better to laugh at a name he didn't like, then to make a big deal about it.
"Yes, that's exactly it. 'Foot in your mouth,' is how you yanks say it. What goes into your mouth? Food. Foot into your food. It's slang."
He spotted their exit, and slowed to take the long, arching turn.
"Almost there. See, this wasn't that bad, Yank. We should do it again sometime."

Her eyes glanced over at him as she couldn't help the little smile that started to appear through her lips. "I didn't know you enjoyed my company that much" she teased him.
"And I wouldn't mind doing this again but maybe next time let me get through my meal more before you decide you need to go" she suggested raising her eyebrow "That was a perfectly good pork that I just let go to waste on your behalf" she pointed out blantly.

"I actually did have to leave. And I was your ride home. Don't tell me you're one of those Yanks who is all about the staring children in Africa, or the damned environment? Look, if you want to go back, I'll call you a car. Go back and finish your two hundred and fifty lire dinner, for all those starving children in Libira."
Emerson pulled smoothly through the gates of Steering Charter School, and up the long, long drive to the main building. From there, it'd only be a short jaunt to the girl's dormitory. Following tradition, the longer a drive was, the more money a person had. In general. There were the occasional upstarts that pretended to have more wealth then they actually had.

She was looking over at him with a clear amused face as he spoke and then she just started laughing a little ending with a smile "I'm only joking with you Emerson" she said to him as she shook her head "Your an easy tease" she added as she saw them parked at the main building.
Her eyes got caught of another richly black car and she frowned as she saw her driver leaning against the car waiting for her. 'How the hell were they able to get passed the gates' she thought to herself but then knew her father must have bribed them. She knew her driver was waiting for her as he looked right over at the car. Lia cursed unhappily under her breath and then looked at Emerson. The driver was a nice man but also was like Lia's personal stalker, he would be able to find her anywhere and would always tell her dad anything she were doing if it was bad. "Apparently there is some kind of emergency at my house as well" she said nodding to the car and the driver waiting for her.
Keeping a grin on her face she still had her eyes on Emerson "I had a nice time, I'll see you around or get to go out to eat again, maybe next time it can be a date?" she suggested with a smile, she suddenly leaned over and pressed her lips against his knowing the driver was looking and knew her father wouldn't like that she was kissing a guy already but she didn't care. Lia pulled away from him a little and her grin came back on her lips "Hmm not a bad kisser for an British man" she said and chuckled before she slid out of the car and headed over to her own.

One minute, Emerson was just minding his own buisness, having a lovely conversation with a lovely girl, the next said girl was practically sitting in his lap, kissing him like he was her own personal booty call. And then Liana was gone, scrambling out of the dark car with all the grace and ease that only came to those high born woman born with a silver spoon in their mouth and a dress on their body. He'd pay to see a middle-class girl try and do what Liana just did without flashing him. Well, I'd pay to see it, just to see her flash me! Emerson grinned and leaned out towards Liana's disappereing back.
"I'll have you know, I'm much better of a kisser then the average Tommy, or Frog, or Ruskie."
Wonder who's in the car? Maybe Daddy's calling on her so soon? Emerson smiled and entertained thoughts of Liana and her Father, in a similar relation as him and his twin; he'd be lying if he didn't say that the thoughts didn't do it a little for him. It'd certainly explain a lot about that Yank. Em turned his radio up loudly and turned to drive back down and out of the front loop. The parking lot was around the corner; he'd have to walk back to the school, but it wasn't anything back. The project he'd have to do would take him to new levels of agony. You owe me one, James.

Lia smiled and shook her head at what he said as she got into the car when the driver opened the door for her. The car was empty thank goodness for her, but she knew where she was going that was not going to be so empty.
The driver started the car back up and started driving away taking her back to her new home in England. As they drove the houses began to get bigger and nicer. They pulled up to the gates that had a large letter M on them her step mother just having the works finish that a few days ago.
The gate opened and started going towards this beautiful large home. Of course it was a massive house, her father was a simple man and like houses that didn't have to show off how rich they were. Their old home that was just her and her father was a nice two story black and white house. Of course the design of the house was different and unique unlike any house but her new step mother liked having large houses that showed how rich they were, she definetly was a bragger.
Lia's driver opened the door for her and she got out. She knew the driver would tell her father of the little charade she just pulled back there with Emerson but she didn't really care, he would be mad but Lia liked to do what she wanted and right then and there she wanted to kiss Emerson because well he was handsome and so far a good catch and why not give someone something for a semi good night, it would have been more interesting if the whole night was finished but Lia didn't mind.

Emerson parked in the lot of the building that Amelia and he rented a flat out of, for the occasions they desired to be off campus for a little while. He twirled his keys on a finger and whistled an old Russian tune to himself, enjoying the short(ish) walk back to school. Surprise, surprise, Liana's car was long gone by the time he got back. Hope she's safe. He could still taste her on his lips, in his mouth. Amelia will be so jealous. He smiled again at the thought.
Em let himself into his room, happily noting that his roommate was still out. Good. He'd swing by the girl's dorm after he'd finished, and relieve this burning, itching agony that was beginning to flow through him. From walking on cloud nine, and playing with Angels, to tossed down into the seventh circle of hell. Worth every second of agony. They weren't addicted to Heroin, never that; they just enjoyed it's taste now and again.
With a long sigh, he settled in at his desk, and cued up his log in in on the built-in screen. A little feature, he'd paid for; his "lap top" was anything but, now. Emerson had three full towers installed into a private desk (choosing it over the school's standard issue) and only one screen which was laterally placed into the surface of the desk, with the option of lifting up to a maximum of forty-five degrees. He was very proud of his little invention. He rubbed his eyes and set to work, trying to figure out where James went wrong in the complicated mathematical equation.

Lia walked through the doors of the house already used to the priceless antiques that were on high shelves. They were on upper shelves for a reason because suddenly a golden retriever appeared far off through the kitchen and when he saw Lia he barreled through to get to her. He wasn't a bad dog or disobediant but he couldn't contain his excitement when he saw his owner and Lia never stopped him from greeting her like he hasn't seen her in years. She kneeled down as he stopped in front of her sitting and she hugged him as she started petting him "How's my little einstein" she said smiling.
Her father heard her voice and Liana knew he was going to come in which in less than two seconds he did come in followed by his wife. "So why didn't you answer your phone?" he asked her.
Liana stood up and Einstein sat right next to her facing her father as well "Because I was having dinner with a few people and that would have been rude" she told him. "Now what was so important that you had to have the driver bring me all the way here?" she asked.
"Me and your mother are going back to the states for a week so we won't be around for a little while but if anything happens that you need us-" "Dad" she cut him off "This is not the first time you had to go away on a business trip, I know the drill and I will be fine" she said as she rubbed Einsteins ear. "Is that all? Am I allowed to go back to my school now?" she asked.
He nodded "Just answer your phone next time" he said and came up hugging her, Liana quickly moved to leave before her step mother could give her a hug too. She left in a hurry and got back in the car again as the driver drove her back.
Liana arrived back at the school as she sighed out getting out of the car. The driver said good bye to her and left, leaving her to walk back to the dorms alone.

Nearly an hour later, and Emerson was finally finished working back through the different layers of intricate and involved problems. He sent the message off, and signed out of his computer, sending it back into standby. Yawning, Emerson checked the time. Not too shabby. This calls for a celebration. He stood and stretched out his stiff muscles and left his room, meaning to swing by the girl's dorm and see if Amelia was back yet. Instead, he managed to get sidetracked by Liana walking slowly in the same direction. Back already? Must not be so great in the sack.

Lia walked very slow almost as if she was taking her time getting back to the dorms. She had her head down which her hair fell over her shoulders covering her arms a little. Her arms were crossed over her chest since she was a little chilly and her hands rubbed her arms a little to even warm them up.
Her eyes stared down at the sidewalk as she walked. Lia was trailing off thinking about her father and how even though they have only been here a little over a week he was already leaving to go on some business trip. Somehow she would have to sneak Einstein into her dorm room, it was one of the reasons why she had him when her father was gone the comfort of her dog always being there made everything better for her and even though she was in school, knowing her father was leaving made her feel sort of alone.
