Later the world will intrude...
Patrick noted with some disappointment that they were nearly at the Doc's house, but he laid his head back onto the Faery's chest contentedly.
"Does that mean I don't have to try and bake cookies? I know I said I'd cook - or try to - but maybe you could bake and I'll simply cling to you?" He teased back, secretly thinking that he might be able to make some decent cookies...

Later the world will intrude... "I thought you were Pa-pa, and I would be the Ma-ma substitute...?" Patrick wondered aloud, after enjoying the kiss. "But doesn't that mean that our child would want cookies from you, too?
If you were to stay in the kitchen - without hanky-panky, mind you: it's dangerous in kitchens! - then we could bake them together, or at least be able to claim we did!" He grinned.

With a shiver, the young man nuzzled against Taran's chest before moving his hand away from them both to open the back door. "That 'something' sure sounds intriguing..." he muttered, blushing and relieved that Taranieth couldn't see it.
"I don't think I'd mind awfully much - so long as you don't make me female somehow: though I want my own children, I don't think I want a woman's body in any way!"
Patrick shuddered at the thought, then was about to say he'd try to remember 'Ran-pa', when something small and furry bounded into his ankles.
Thorn, who was clearly able to smell the one he was irritated at, (he was supposed to be Patrick's favourite!) even if the young can couldn't actually see Patrick, bit into the invisible flesh.
"Well we found Thorn, who is clearly mad with me..." Patrick murmured, releasing Taranieth to gently scoop up the kitten, wincing when Thorn held onto his ankle for just a little longer to show his displeasure.
Then he rubbed the kitten's nose against his own. "Sorry. You know I'd have enough arms to safely carry - and hide - you all at once if I could..."
Patrick turned to Taran as Thorn reluctantly purred, snuggling inyo the crook of Patrick's arm. "Now we just need Snowy... he'll likely be inside, snuggled into a chair..."

Taranieth made a disparaging noise at the furball's attack. "Tch. I need to work or making that spell catproof." he said, glaring at the offending kitten. then he patted its head. "Don't worry, o feisty one. We'll get you something fun to play with. Keegan will adore you."

Later the world will intrude... Thorn made a half-hearted attempt to nibble Taran's hand, then settled further into Patrick's body.
Patrick smiled at Taran. "Cat proof? It doesn't need to be, really. He didn't bite hard - they never usually do. The claws are a different matter, though."
He leant up and, careful not to squish Thorn, pecked Taranieth's lips. "But thank you, Master Taranieth, for worrying about me. Now, let's find Snowy - I think he may decide you're his favourite, since he seemed to like your lap. But then he'd have to argue with Fudge, who obviously adores your hair..." he mused, walking into the house.

Taranieth laughed. "When the animals start acting odd, others notice. Cats can see through most glamours, and I know wizards of all races who keep them around. They aren't impossible to hide from, just harder than humans and fae." he said, liking the kiss. "As to those pets claiming me as lap space, I think I'll be fine so long as they don't keep you away."

Patrick turned and winked before realising Taranieth couldn't see it. "Don't worry: if I'm not mad at you, or trying to hide some kind of surprise from you, then they won't be able to keep me away - can't surprise someone if they get close enough to see the present behind your back, right?"

Taranieth chuckled softly and spotted Snowy napping on a chair. He picked the kitten up carefully. It yawned, but then went back to sleep as if it didn't mind much.

Patrick then settled Thorn in his other arm so that he could snuggle back into Taranieth's side once they'd closed the door and left.
"Shall we walk from here? I think Thorn's going to sleep - he usually likes to prowl, but I think he might be comfy right now..." he smiled, the speech meant to assure Taran that they wouldn't have to go chasing and finding the kitten.

Taranieth kissed him lightly on somewhere that felt like a cheek. He whispered to be quiet for the sleepy ones. Then, each carrying their kitten, they made their way back.

Small, cute things were juggled around until they found an adequate compromise. Finally, Taranieth was carrying Snowy and Fudge, Patrick had Thorn and Briar, and each was holding one of Emmy's hands. Taranieth had taken off the glamour because they could slip into the forest without being discovered better if the little girl wasn't crying at being abducted by invisible people.
