Ok, let's roll high this time. Say, 433? Whoever rolls 433 wins a wolfgang duck!

So I'm finally figuring out how to spin cotton on my tahkli spindle. took me a couple hours to spin this: The yarn is thicker than it should be for a tahkli spindle, but it's spun, and that's what matters. I figure I can work on getting thinner yarn, I just need to get down how to do it. Next to it is the fiber preparation I'm spinning from, a puni. It's basically cotton run through two dog brushes (handcards) and rolled up.

Thanks! I'm glad I'm finally getting the hang of support spindling, especially since that spindle was a birthday gift from my bf.

It looks like you have such an even hand. I could never get my yarn to come out so nice and even. I am so excited for you. have you made anything from something that you have spun yet?

Thanks. It's a lot of practice I've put in that shows, really. My spinning is even as long as I do it thin enough and use the same drafting technique, heh. I'm still learning how to do thicker yarn, and how to get consistent singles with different drafting techniques. There's always something new to learn, which is pretty cool. And yup, I have made stuff with my handspun. I even finished a hat last night with some alpaca:

Not the first batch, I thought a white cotton lace scarf would be hella pretty. After that though I wanted to dye some cotton. I also wanted to try some professional dyes with some of the spinning stuff knitpicks sells, try my hand at painting it on once I have the space for it. I was eyeing the wool.silk blend for that. heart
