 Edric was alone for a very long time. The light in his life came in small flashes, small moments, like a camera taking a picture, only capturing his few smiles. He hated himself, hated hat he was, hated his need for blood. Hated that he had to bite others to get it. So he always, always tried to do something for them after, to make it up to them. How many times, however, had he been run from, shunned, treated as a monster. And so, he was alone. The few who hadn't hated him after, he had left after repaying the debt as best he could. He knew that he couldn't stay. That he would have to drink from them again and again, night after night, that soon they would think he only liked them for their blood, and they would leave.
And then... he met Nector. He had been starving, had pushed himself too far. He bit her, and she.... her blood was amazing. It was like drinking a cold mountain stream, or the purest nector... how fitting her name, when he would find it out. And he realized he took too much, and withdrew, immediately sorry. HE waited for her to hate him, to scream, to yell at him and what did she do? She forgot all about it, treated him like a friend, then bounded off. What choice did he have, really, but to follow her? And she kept forgetting, kept forgiving just by virtue of not remembering. And she let him stay beside her. So beside her he would always stay. He was in love. Her boundless energy, her delight in everything. Plus, teaching her about kissing again every time she forgot... was a very... nice... fringe benefit.

May flowers. Well Pilgrim was out for a name, so going the other way, May flowers are brought by April showers, April is too feminine a name, so O'neil, from April O'neil from TMNT, became Neil. This rant will be replaced with a personality. Just as soon as he has one.
