Harata inclined her head. "As you do, lady of BOO. Do you wish to end the sparring now? I did not mean to throw you so hard. It is up to you whether we continue." All the same, she readied herself. ((Dem be fighting words.))

Nindyn vel'uss kyorl nind ratha thalra elyhinn dal lil alust. He should've known things were too good to be true. Just as he'd been congratulating himself on a job well done, Harata had pulled that stunt. The Captain groaned inwardly as Coline lost her balance and fell. She'd thought the battle was over and dropped her gurd, not realising that vicious creatures by nature will never give up unless they have the upper hand, not even in a practise session.
He pursed his lips, dilemma returning. Should he charge in and put a stop to things?
No. A move like that didn't merit halting the fight. If the girl did something truly outrageous, he'd be forced to call it off. As it was, he did have a lot to say to her about foolishness. She was obviously so concerned with showing off that her tactics and precision were all over the place. He'd never watched her fight before - something which, it occurred to him, may have been a good thing, for if he'd gone about correcting her (and she'd listened) Coline may have been no match for her. But while brute strength had brought her this far, it would get her nowhere in the end, especially if she coupled it with such silly tactics. The cartwheeling disarm may have succeeded in sending an unready beginner to the ground, but anything bigger that? She'd have found herself dead before she could finish picking up her weapon.
As it was, he felt a sudden surge of affection for the stoic Coline, who always kept herself ready and on form. Her movements were precise and effective outside of the occassional beginner's stumble. She'd be a true warrior in time. Those who watch their backs meet death from the front. ~~ Drow proverb

((Me thinks the Captain is being highly biased, and unfair on Harata. She is actually fairly level headed and calculating in her fighting. The only reason she pulled the cartwheel is she knew, with her height, weight, and the weapons used, that it would work. The captain hates Harata too. emo )))

(( Of course he is. What did you expect? XD That's why I said "Don't pay any attention to my commentary" =3
EDIT: I'm pretty sure that an advanced fighter WOULD see such a move as rather unjustifiably risky, though. So I think he's justified in that way. All the taunts get on his nerves, too. He sees them as unneccessary. But it's easy for him to say, since I've chosen the Bullheaded skill for him - which means he's immune to taunts and grappling. XD ))

Coline stabbed at the ground with the trident and pulled herself up, an eye shut painfully close. "What's... swine like you doing in the Order's territory?" Her tone was hostile. Despite the apparent display of strain she assumed her stance, brows meeting dangerously. "Haven't you done enough damage? Was the war not enough!?"

Harata looked at her. "Think of what you are accusing me of. Think. Now think. Have I not been given permission here? Do you know who I am, what has happened to me, and what I might even be trying to do? No. You look, you discount. "She's a SINner, you say, so she must be evil. She must want us to hurt." Remember which side was gaining the most strength, was starting to creep above. Remember what happened. Remember. Then think. Is that really what you think?" She stood, leaning on her boken, shaking slightly. "Just think."

She stared at Harata for a long while, her expression unchanging. She could only narrow her eyes at what she had heard. Nothing was making sense at the moment. Straightening herself, trident standing equally as straight beside her, Coline gave the SINner a brief bow. She then paced over to the chest of weapons wearily, slipped the wooden trident back into place, and staggered away.
The sparring had ended. She'd answered her question.

Nindyn vel'uss kyorl nind ratha thalra elyhinn dal lil alust. Jessie wasn't quite sure what was happening. When he saw Coline stand he'd expected the fighting to continue - instead, she was now moving away. Was something the matter? Surprised, he glided forward at his usual brisk pace... or perhaps a little more brisk.
He turned his head to appraise Harata. She seemed fine, so he decided to leave her for now. "I'll speak to you about your performance if you stick around. Just know for now that you need to do a lot of work."
He then turned away from her and followed after Coline. She'd moved quite a distance away, but he was soon just behind her. "Coline. Are you hurt?" Those who watch their backs meet death from the front. ~~ Drow proverb (( EDITED - just two extra sentences ))

She relaxed. "Yes sir. I think I will." She collapsed onto the floor, cross legged. Why?

Coline wasn't sure where she was going, and quite frankly it didn't matter. Anywhere would be better than here right now. She just wanted to get away from that savage... that SINner. The young recruit trudged on, legs shaking, a painful sensation jolting up her being with every step.
Only to stop upon hearing a familiar voice call out to her.
She stood there, immobile, apart from the occasional trembling. "...I'm fine, sir." she finally answered, her tone weary. "It's just light bruising."

From behind the weapons rack, a familiar yet strange white-haired fellow peeked over from his hiding spot. He had been watching the sparring with a curious and gut-wrenching fire for the fight, amazed by what they could do. Now he believed it when Harata said that she had not hit him very hard, and she could have done much more damage if she had wished.
Thinking these thoughts to himself, he glanced all up and down the line of weapons. His fingers drummed along the bar holding them up and his gray eyes darted towards Harata and Coline as the scuffle came to a close. He ducked down again when his gaze drifted over the dark-skinned Captain. Now that the match was over, there was nothing to keep them from noticing if they glanced in his way by chance.

Nindyn vel'uss kyorl nind ratha thalra elyhinn dal lil alust. Gripped by worry when she couldn't turn around to face him, he swept around her to the front. Concern etched on his face, he glanced her up and down. The only visible wound was that on her cheek, and yet she was shaking dreadfully.
He suddenly wanted to hug her, and almost did - instead, at the last moment, he reached out and cupped the injured part of her face in his hand.
"My dear, please don't look so sad," he said, rather quickly in his eagerness to calm her down "You fought beautifully. It was a joy to behold. Your moves were all executed perfectly, and with grace and precision."
"I... I'm so very proud of you, Coline."
He didn't make an attempt to disguise the emotion clogging his throat. Not that he was sure he could have if he'd tried. It had been a long time since he'd felt anything as strongly as this for another person. "You mustn't let anything that silly girl did bother you," he concluded quietly "You're in a different league to her." Those who watch their backs meet death from the front. ~~ Drow proverb

Harata looked over, and strained not to giggle, as she saw the Overseer peeking out from the weapons rack. She motioned him over. "So I take it you want to learn how to fight? I would offer, but every time I spar, I seem to get accused of trying to kill someone. Not that you would care."
