{{... LOL! Oh my gosh! I didn't even think of the view he'd get! lol! So yeah, Ever really didn't mean to give him a better view since *I* didn't even think about that. lol!}}

Ever kept her foot on Ares's chest so that he didn't invade her personal space anymore. She rolled her eyes at Ares's asinine question.

"Ares, you are many things, but you are not stupid. You ALWAYS think with that head. That's part of why being the God of War works for you. I personally think that war is all about guys trying to find out who's bigger."

She smirked and cocked her head to the side. She knew she was walking on dangerous ground now, insulting war. Ah well. It wasn't like he could kill her.

Ares' eyes flashed for a brief moment. "War," he intonated, "is many things, but that is hardly it. War is a fight for money, power, and fame. The Romans did it right, and they obtained all three.

"But," he drawled, "how could I expect you to understand that? You're just a girl, still, aren't you? Would you prefer to find out for yourself?" He smirked right back at her. He knew her answer already, but that didn't mean that the way she would present it would be any less fun. He was very tempted to run a hand down her leg...but that would probably destroy any chances he would have later, and he wasn't stupid. War, after all, required strategy, and he liked to view this as a sort of mini-war.

Ever removed her foot from Ares's chest and dropped her leg. She leaned toward him and scowled.

"I'm not just a girl, Ares! And I don't appreciate you talking to me like one! I am a young woman, and a fellow God, at that! My parents were around before yours were!"

She had to be careful where she tread here. She couldn't insult Ares by insulting Zeus or Hera. Thaaaat would be bad.

She reached her hand forward and jabbed her index finger into Ares's chest. "I know much more than you think I do. I would think you of all people would know better than to underestimate people, Ares. I may not know much about war, but I am also not completely naive, thank you very much."

((Aww...Evil sis, night!! Hope you get a chance to come back soon though!))

Meanwhile, since it was not quite supper time yet and Akira didn't have any urgent homework to attend too, plus, with Evermore being in the Headmistress' office reading that huge book, the girl decided to go to her room and spend some quality time with her new found friend and familiar, Kilala.

Once she unlocked the door with her purple and pink key and opened it, she stepped aside to let the feline enter 1st. The Two Tailed Cat Demon looked around curiously, taking in the various posters of drawings that she'd hung up on the walls and celling (not that the room wasn't beautiful, it definitely was, but a little touch of creativeness never hurt), the nick kacks, pain, and paintbrushes she had spilled nicely and neatly on her desk, the colorful pillows and stuffed toys shattered all over her bed. It was these little things that made the Dog Hanyou feel like she was at home, that this room was her own personal space in this huge school, and the feline definitely respected and liked it.

The cream and black colored animal walked around the room, her twin tails swaying happily as she looked back at her grinning master, then meowed excitedly. The girl kneeled in front of her familiar and stroked her.

"I'm glad you like my room because this is where the two of us will be staying for a good while yet! Oh and you can definitely sleep on my bed, no worries there." she reassured the feline, who purred deeply, and gladly snuggled into her master's arms in response to that.

The teenager got up, walked over, and flopped down onto her bed, letting Kilala rest on her stomach and rubbed the demonic kitty's pure black ear, something the feline obviously loved.

After a moment, Akira asked, "Hey, Kilala, i'm really glad you love the name, i was worried sick you'd hate it! Also...What happened in the forest back there...You know, you transforming, me ridding on your back...You know, i'd definitely pick you over some stupid horse any day, your way faster!"

Kilala strongly agreed with a series of meowing, then quieted down so her partner could continue speaking.

Akira giggled, then continued, "Well, anyways...Whatever we did, that whole connection thing...It was freaken awesome! Think we can try it again, Kilala?" she asked, wondering what the feline would say. Then was greatly startled when she heard a soft voice in her head.

I'd like to try again too, Professor Markums did explain to us that familiars, if they connect with their masters perfectly, unbelievable things can happen!

Akira just gaped at Kilala for a moment, the info slowly sinking in, then she mumbled, "No kidding..." soon enough, she bursted into laughter and soon enough, the feline joined in.

After laughing their heads off for a good five minutes, Akira wiped her eyes and said, somewhat out of breath, "So you can talk to me mentally, very very cool! This'll make things a hell of a lot easier, don't you think?"

Uh huh, though i bet you would of understood my meowing sooner or later, after all, you are still a Dog Demon, so i would of understood if you barked at me. she replied mentally, very happy.

The girl agreed with a giggle and the two started up a very long conversation.

Sarcastically, he bowed to her. "Oh, yes, almighty Evermore! How could I forget?" he said, drawing out all the stressed syllables for extra sarcasm. "Your attitude definitely suits that." He grabbed her hand, pulling it back. "I'm afraid you still don't understand, dear Evermore, what is happening here. You do not want me for your enemy."

He wasn't just speaking in general, though most would not want him for their enemy, if they were smart. He was speaking as a truth; in the coming times, if thing played out as he suspected they would, she would want him on her side. And, he knew, he would also be in a better position if he were on her side. Things would be getting ugly soon enough--just the way he liked them. He just needed to make sure that he was not in the wrong place when it happened, because there was something powerful, and if it truly was what he, what most of the gods, thought it was...

...It was going to be more than just ugly.

{{Awesome! lol!}}

Ever's eyebrows raised in surprise at Ares's comments. Hmm. Maybe there was an opening here after all. She'd have to be careful with this. Ares wasn't stupid, but he could get very angry and passionate, from what she knew of him, and could slip up.

Ever cocked her head to the side and smiled very sarcastically at him. "Oh how funny you are, Ares, God of War. You know, from what I've heard and experienced, I'm not sure there'd be any difference between being your friend or being your enemy."

He leaned in close, murmuring into her ear. "I'm quite sure that there is a very large difference between my friends and my enemies, Evermore. You should be able to understand that."

What was it about her that affected him like this? Why was he finding her so enthralling?

Evermore smirked but didn't push Ares's head away. "Ares, why would I want to allied with you? I'm in no threat and my life is going pretty damn well. Why rock the boat?"

He chuckled, shaking his head softly. "You just don't know yet. You'll see, Evermore. Soon, you will understand why." He disappeared from that spot, reappearing behind her, lounging in the window seat with an apple. After tossing it into the air for show (though he knew she likely wouldn't even see it), he caught it again and took a loud bite from its crunchy flesh.

True, he did not need to eat, and true, mortal food was not of Mt Olympus' caliber, but it was nonetheless tasty and dramatic. And Ares had quite the flair for the dramatic.

{{Oh my gosh! That was perfect! lol!!}}

Ever was a little aggravated that her tactic hadn't worked, but she was by no means giving up. So, she smirked and got up from the desk calmly. She went back to the chair behind the desk and sat down, taking the tome with her.

"Alright, then. I can't be your ally if I don't even know why I need one in the first place. Of course, you know what I think?"

She put the tome on the desk and then leaned forward on the desk with one of her elbows on the desk and her chin resting in her hand. She whispered dramatically to him.

"I think that you're making this all up. I don't think there's anything nearly as dangerous as you're making it out to be. I think you're bored and want to play.... Or you're completely paranoid and delusional right now."

She smirked as she leaned back in her chair and opened the tome on her lap. She brought up both of her legs and rested them on top of the desk, crossed at the ankle. She knew it wouldn't hurt the Headmistress's desk, or she wouldn't be doing it.

Ares made an affirmative grunting sound around a bite of apple. When he'd swallowed sufficiently, he pointed (using the hand holding the apple) at her and shook his head. "If I'm making all this up, then what happened to you in the lake? Figment of your imagination?"

He was not bluffing or fibbing or lying. He was not paranoid and he most definitely was not delusional. These things he knew as truth, and he, though he was the god of War, quite liked honesty. It tended to be more twisting than lying. If you are always honest, then you can often surprise people, and in their surprise, you can win.

Ever covered her uncomfortableness at the mention of the incident at the lake by laughing.

"Ares, are you forgetting where we are? Magical creatures exist everywhere around here. Hell, I JUST HAD a class about magical creatures. You saw. Your horse tried to attack me..."

She raised an eyebrow and cleared her throat as she casually flipped a page in the tome she was reading.

"Any type of creature could have attacked me from the lake. It's natural. Nothing suspicious there, Ares. You know, you are behaving far differently than I'm used to. You seem a lot more.... scared."

She flipped another page slowly.

"There is a fine line between fear and caution, dearest. And if you knew what I knew, I'm sure you'd know what I mean." He loved to irritate her with winding statements like that. He knew they incensed her, and utilising that, getting a rise out of her... Ooooh, he loved it. Perhaps he was sadistic, but he was the God of War! There were reasons supporting his madness.
PostPosted: Thu Mar 04, 2010 7:40 pm

Ok. Another tactic, dammit. Ever sighed, put the tome back on the desk, got up from the chair, and strode over to the window Ares was sitting in. She rested her hand on the window jam right above Ares's head and then leaned down over him.

She whispered lowly, "Ares, I'm not your dearest anything. And right now, I'm neither fearful nor cautious. So why don't you tell me what the hell is going on around here or stop wasting my damn time?"

He smiled at her cockily, and just stared at her. She just wasn't getting it, was she? Ah, the poor girl. She wasn't getting anything today, but it wasn't his fault that she couldn't just focus on what she was supposed to do. "Read that book," he said, pointing to the large tome, "and find that room. Then we'll talk."
