Olin walked with the wall and into the forest. He needed to get away for a while and be alone with his thoughts. The forest was dense. it was obvious that the forest had been cut so the city could be built.

The hunter smiled as Olin walked into the depths of the forest. This would be fun. He stalked the man through the trees. No one would be able to stop this assault now.

Calix couldn't sleep. He had been wandering around the hotel for a while and had found himself on the roof. He stood at the edge, arms crossed, and stared into the night sky. At least I get to watch the sun come up, he thought to himself. Suddenly, something caught his attention. He looked at the edge of the woods, spotting Olin. Looks like he's got the same idea, he thought. He saw something else though. Something was following Olin. Calix jumped off the roof, rolled on the ground, and took off towards the woods. He wanted to see what was stalking Olin, make sure he wasn't in danger.

((There, that's as much holding off as I'm going to give you. you spotted them. now just enjoy the show.))

Olin walked deeper into the forest. He didn't want to be found. He knew the risk and at this point getting lost seemed almost a plus.

As Olin walked, the hunter moved in closer. The hunter knew that this was going to be no ordinary smash and grab, as he had been stalking since just before the demon attacked and Olin almost killed it.

The hunter drew a pair of twin daggers. He preferred daggers to swords for one reason; they were faster. He silently stalked closer to Olin from behind him, until he was within three feet of his prey.

He then leaped towards the unsuspecting human with his daggers pressed against his forearms. this allowed him more maneuverability than holding then like a sword.

Olin heard only the final leap, but that was enough. He sidestepped the initial strike as the creature dove at him. When the hunter missed, he rolled to his feet and smiled at Olin, two pearl white fangs shown from his mouth. "Well done," the vampire said through his grin. "It has been a while since I was dodged by my prey," he chuckled.

Calix heard the commotion and quickly found Olin. There was another person with him and, from the looks of it, the other person had tried to ambush him. Looks like Olin has himself under control. Better stay here, though. Just in case, he thought to himself. He stayed slightly behind a tree and watched the fight ensue.
(are you planning on the vampire living after the fight? i could jump in after you get bit and kill it. that'd be some good action for Calix, since he hasn't had any yet)

Olin drew his blades. "You picked a bad day to attempt to make me your 'prey,'" he snarled. He was ready for this. It would be a great way to release some of his stress. He charged the vampire, striking with a very complex set of blows in which the vampire dodged and blocked with no trouble whatsoever. He slipped under Olin's blades and behind the human, smiling. This hunter was not brute striker. He knew what he was doing.

With the advantage, The vampire took a bite of Olin, who shouted in pain. Olin twisted the blades in his hands and stabbed straight back at the vampire.

Instantaneously, the vampire released Olin. The two blades in his ribs caused a searing pain. The vampire dropped his blades in surprise. Olin pulled his swords out, spun, and sliced off the vampire's head.

Even so, the curse of the vampire was already taking course. Olin's eyes were turning a reddish hue. He fell to his knees, and passed out.

((I may have allowed it had you thought to put that in your post before I originally read it.))

Calix rushed over to Olin's seemingly lifeless body. He held up Olin's head and patted his face. "Olin. Olin?" Calix said. No response. "Olin!" he said again. Nothing. "Damn it. I'm too late," he said. The curse is already taking effect, I can't take him back to the city. They'll want to kill him immediately, he thought to himself. As much as he hated it, there was no hope of saving Olin from turning. Calix picked him up, and carried him a little further from the city and laid him under a tree. "I'm sorry, Olin," he said. He ran back towards the city, afraid to look back.
(no worries lol. my time will come eventually)

Olin woke under the tree with his throat parched as if had been days since his last drink. He pulled out a small canteen that he always kept on him. He drank it, but it did absolutely nothing to soothe his thirst. In the back of his mind he knew what it was he needed, but he wasn't ready to admit it just yet.

He stood and finally began looking around. Though it was still dark out, he could see clearly. Everything appeared more complex to him, as if he had been living in a two-dimensional world until this moment. He could smell the trail of where he had come from, and he could smell the blood of the dead vampire. The scent caused his throat to clench up.

It was at this moment that he knew there was no going back. He had been bitten by a vampire. He was no longer a simple human. He was faster, stronger, more graceful, and unfortunately, had a lust for blood. He Followed the trail back to the vampire and sheathed his blades. He also grabbed the daggers from the vampire, along with their sheaths. The vampire wouldn't be needing them.

When he had gathered what was needed, he began walking back towards the gate of the city. It was time he found out what he could about this curse of his.

Calix had gone back to the roof of the hotel. He wasn't standing this time, though. He felt too lightheaded to stand. All he could think of was having watched Olin being bitten by the vampire. It happened so quickly, so violently, that Calix didn't have a chance to do anything about it. He kept replaying it in his head. He also thought about what Olin had said earlier.

"Maybe once you've saved my life four or five times, I can trust you," Olin had said. Calix leaned his head down. You couldn't even save him once. Worthless, he lashed at himself. He turned his head up toward the sky. He was wondering how he could possibly explain what had happened to everyone.

Olin scaled the wall effortlessly, knowing that the gates would be shut for the night. He saw Calix on the roof of what Olin assumed to be the hotel. Silently, Olin traveled around the buildings. He loved his new sense of grace. He stealthily scaled the wall of the building he had seen Calix on. He knelt in pure silence watching him as he stared up to the sky.

"Nice night isn't it?" he asked melodically. Though it was his voice, it was different somehow. It was smoother, almost entrancing. He would be able to use that he was sure.

Calix turned with a jolt. He had no idea that Olin would turn that quickly. "I'm sure it could have been better. So, how does it feel? To be a vampire?" Calix asked, turning his head back to the sky. He had always wondered what that sort of thing would be like. Of course, it's hard to ask just any vampire that, since they're usually only near you for their own gain. He sort of shook at that thought, considering Olin's demeanor towards him as a human.

"Have you ever walked through a desert for a week and only had enough water for the first day?" Olin asked in his new voice. "Because currently, that's how I feel. "Perhaps the thirst will be easy enough to control, but I will need to find out more about my curse before I know how I feel about it in and of itself."
PostPosted: Thu Aug 20, 2009 12:18 pm

"I see," Calix said. He turned to look at Olin again. The red hue in his eyes seemed to glow. It seemed that Olin was a bit more friendly in his new state, which somewhat worried him. He wasn't certain, but he almost thought Olin had found his first target. "I...I'm sorry I didn't jump in sooner. I thought that fight was yours. Wouldn't be the first time I was wrong though," he trailed off. If Olin was simply being more friendly now, Calix wanted to take the time to talk to him peacefully.

"The fight was mine," Olin laughed darkly. "If you don't believe me, their is a vampire's headless body in the forest to prove it. This curse won't kill me. It just makes me... Thirsty," he chuckled. Though he could hear the blood pulsating through Calix's veins, he had no desire for his blood. The smell did not appeal to him. He was simply trying to scare the boy into a little more respect.

"Yeah, I saw that part," Calix chuckled back, "I guess that's a better way to look at it than my way,". The way Olin was already handling his new life only made Calix envy him more. "Look, I know we've had friction this whole time, but I value others around me more than I could ever value myself. If I had the chance, I would have taken that bite for you. You're an admirable warrior, and even more admirable person. I just hope your new life doesn't change that," he said. Maybe he was being a bit open, but this was the only time Olin had spoken to him as an equal, even if they were far from it.
