Blossom Ridell

PostPosted: Thu Jul 02, 2009 1:29 pm

Blossom looked up. A rumbling...? She turned around, and saw... falling stones. Coming right for them.

Fear overcame her expression, breath hitching in her throat. Again she remembered falling stones, being crushed under rock, unable to breathe or speak. She couldn't move, couldn't speak, not even to scream. She had Vezra in one hand now, resting against the ground, as the other gripped Aidan's wrist tightly. She managed a slight whimper, her face chalk-white.

"With a cleaver I hack them in two..."

Ψ I pull out what's inside... And I serve it up fried! Ψ

Kyros let out a cruel, sadistic, twisted chuckle as the axe connected with Amelia's side. As she staggered around, recovering from the cut, Kyros began laughing, as if trying to taunt the girl even more. "Didn't want her to die, eh?" He looked at her with the sympathetic, caring gaze of a parent, understanding and compassion leaking from his expression... until he broke back into the beastly grin and piercing eyes. "She's dead, my Teifi is dead!"

As Amelia rushed him, he simply shifted to the side, giving the girl a nice harsh shove as she passed under him. "Girl, you don't even belong on the battlefield." Disappointment flowed in his voice, Amelia's tactics doing little to actually help her chance to survive. "You should know that picking up that weapon means that you're responsible for the strings of each life you cut, and that everything you do has repercussions. My family and I may not have been the most upstanding, perfect, model heroes, but we were still a family."

Realization began to strike as he looked around during the calm and noticed the scattered corpses of his allies, his comrades, his children. "Y-you see... my family is dying all around us, and I can't stop it, I can't stop it!" His breathing became ragged, more beastly, his posture began to diminish juuuuuust as Charice began to creep up on him. The man instinctively twitched, the blade only leaving a superficial cut. He let out a growl as he turned to the fleeing Rider and slammed his axe into the ground with a roar, sending spears of stone flying up at her.

"See, my family is dropping like flies, so there's nothing to stop me from going to... some more primal instincts..." He lifted the axe to his face, cleaning the blade with his tongue. "Oh, this is going to be... delicious. I can taste the fear... the power..." His voice turned into a roar. "Oh, I can't wait! The bloodbath will be... magnificent..." If someone was listening to the mechanics of the Dread Reaver's mind, they'd have likely heard a little snap, followed by everything spiraling into chaos. "Come on! Entertain me before I turn you into my next meal, make it fun!"

Now I stuff you with bread...

It don't hurt, 'cause you're dead!

And you're certainly lucky you are...

"No, I understand completel--s**t!!"

The boulders and arrows were coming right for them--Damn, if only one of them was a mage, they could've used Espinne for cover...The tactician grabbed Blossom by the hand and tugged.

"Come on, Blossom, Victoria...! We've gotta get out of here!"

"Somebody help Fa!!!" Fa yelled as she started crying in between words still crawling on the ground. Fa felt a rumbling. Then a giant rock crushed many morphs right in front of her. "Fa hopes Fa finds someone soon." Fa thought in her mind as she crawled in some direction.

Nothing could have protected Mika from the blast. The position she was in allowed for... Death. In her death, she had not been completely still. She'd worked quickly. She knew that the one thing she had not before been willing to give up could provide enough power to do the only thing she wanted...

Madriana.

When the smoke cleared, the remains of the younger girl were nowhere to be found. But there was Madriana, her long hair swaying in the wind, no longer tied neatly in her curled ponytails. Her eyes obscured from her head's position in looking towards the ground. She glowed with a dark light...

She looked at her hands. She looked up... And caught Rhys' stare. The look on her face was one of understanding, confusion, horror, and determination, all in one. Her eyes, yellow and bright, were filling with tears.

She mouthed the word "Mika" as she looked back toward the ground.

The glow faded... And the woman glanced around her.. She was in the middle of a battlefield...

"Rhys." She said, audibly enough to be heard.

He was still conscious. Oh yes, he was still conscious. But he was also still useless, watching ally and enemy alike collapsing and dying, reflected in his emotionless eyes, a silent movie of death and sorrow on a garnet screen. Soren rolled his head to the side a bit. Perhaps he had enough energy to be awake, but not enough to move. He would be there for a while.

Soren closed his eyes for a moment, then peered back to the battlefield without moving his head. He noticed shadows falling over a group in the distant and allowed his eyes to flick upward. Arrows and boulders rained down, a tactic he was familiar with, but in this scenario one he could not alleviate. Hopefully the unlucky ones had some idea of how to avoid utter obliteration.

----------

Neros had descended somewhere. Though they were still in the mountains, they had surely escaped the chaotic atmosphere that the battle incited. At the very least, he had.

But he had finally broken down. Without a word to the raven, Neros fell upon a trail, having found the forested region of the mountain. The wind spell collapsed, his mind and body collapsed. He couldn't take being awake. He couldn't take existing. Neros quietly crawled into some shade, nibbling on his thumb so he wouldn't weep with pain.

He wordlessly closed his eyes and curled up to sleep.

Victoria grabbed the two, shortly after Leon had departed luckily fast enough to avoid any more of the boulders and thus more unnecessary harm. She couldn't stop them, sure, but she did pull Blossom away into a more safer area out of their path. "They only go one direction! They can't be controlled, we're fine!" she exclaimed.

While the morphs were restocking the arrow, the General morph noticed an arrow flying. He ordered the paladin to stop it. The paladin moved in front of the archer and stopped the arrow with his shield. With another wave, the general ordered the cavaliers and paladins to fight those who was near the area. The mounted units moved forward.

The bow users had set it up and launched another attack.

Seeking hope in an unknown land...
...within the despair all around...

Loch looked up. As much as he felt at...peace...consoling this young Raven, someone else was in danger.

"Annis...I'm sorry. There are others in aid, I must help them." He stood up from her, pulling her to her feet. "If you need to remain here, I understand. I will return." He broke her hold and ran in the direction of the sense of impending doom.

He traced the mountains...god, that sense was getting stronger. He took flight, and spotted an odd axe knight carrying...that tome, it wasn't his. He dove at the man. "I deeply apologize for this, but I must have that tome." He shoved the man off his horse, took the tome, and flew off again.

That's when he met them. Pale faced, terrified, about to die... Without a moment's warning, he swept past them, landing in the path of the boulders. So this was Espinne, hm? He focused his will...

Massive brambles burst from the ground, a thorny thicket of defense protecting everyone from instant death. The boulders crashed down upon the vines, halting where they collided. Thud, thud, thud...

And then the danger was gone.

He turned weakly to the others, slumping down upon his knees. To use so many powerful tomes, so soon after each other...it drained him.

He looked up. "T-there...You're safe now."

Rhys watched the smoke intently. Did that do it? Were they gone? No... someone's rising out of the smoke. It's... Madrianna?

Mika was gone. He'd--he'd finally done it. He'd actually beaten someone. But now? It felt a little strange, looking at a Madrianna about to cry.

Worse, he couldn't find any words for it. He knew that deep down, he'd only say that Mika got what she asked for, and that just wasn't right to say. He still felt that Madrianna could be a foe, and was tempted to use Antaram again to finish what he'd started... but no. She was doing nothing at the moment. He couldn't just strike someone who looked like she'd prefer to be anywhere else.

"Madrianna..." he merely said, unable to say more.

--------

Blast. I hit him, but it wasn't what I was--AAAHFLYFASTER!

Charice snapped on the reins, and Aphrodite bolted, the pegasus flying ahead of the stone spires , keeping just ahead of getting impaled.

Then the rider soared off the cliff, and the spires could no longer reach her.

That was TOO close, Charice thought grimly. Did Amelia stand a ghost of a chance with that? She maneuvered around, watching the Dread Reaver, waiting for another moment to strike.

Amelia struggled to stay on her feet. Charice had swooped down to help her, she had sent a strike his way, but Kyros had easily dodged... How were they to take down this beast? Nothing I try works... She didn't answer Kyros as he spoke, just trying to stay on her feet. Her side hurt so much, already the wound started to feel numb as blood slicked her side, and she could feel it trickling down, trying to reach her leg.

She didn't pause to look at the corpses around the battlefield. It was hard enough to stay on her feet right now, what with that numbing pain all up her left side... She panted as she stared at Kyros, her shaky hands tightening on the naginata until her knuckles turned white.

"Oh, this is going to be... delicious. I can taste the fear... the power... Oh, I can't wait! The bloodbath will be... magnificent... Come on! Entertain me before I turn you into my next meal, make it fun!"

What was she supposed to do? If she ran at him again, it would be suicide. Neither of her attempts before had worked. Her arrows would only deflect off of his armor. So the only way... to get an attack in would be to get him close to her, wouldn't it?

Amelia laughed weakly. "Next meal...? I'm no one's food, you son of a b***h!" she shouted at him. She kept her hold on her weapon, strengthening her stance as much as possible. "What? You can't come attack me? You too scared to hit me unless I run at you first? Why don't you come here, you big baby? I'll make it as fun as you want, you psychotic b*****d!"

Blossom vaguely felt Aidan tugging her along, but her thoughts didn't cease. It was too late, too late, they would all be crushed, they'd all die... Then, suddenly, a series of thorny brambles rose up, destroying the boulders. Blossom turned her gaze and found Loch on the ground, wings drooping around him. "You...!" she breathed. She dragged Aidan with him as she knelt next to the heron, sword on the ground. She tried to lean him up, seeing his exhaustion. "You... thank you..."

Sue noticed the Paladins and the General giving orders from above. She needed more arrows than her own if she was to make the boulders and the bolts stop raining! She nocked an arrow, this time, aiming at the Paladin's weapon arm to disarm him. Again the nomad let it fly. "Hit it!" she exclaimed.

Victoria was relieved and surprised to see the ancient tome now protecting them. How odd for an enemy weapon to be on their side, but it was all good. And... Blossom stopped fearing the rocks. Another good thing. "Yes, you have all our thanks... Sage." She said to Loch. She did remember Leon storing the tome away... but... how did he snatch it? That didn't matter.

Annis wanted to stay there. She didn't want Loch to leave. She didn't deserve his hug, not any of this, she hadn't done anything to deserve that kindness, and now he was taking it away from her... "If you need to remain here, I understand. I will return."

Hadn't he said that, back during the Massacre? Her parents had died years before, and Annis was under the care of their son, his wife... they were panicked, they didn't want the herons to suffer for what they could see as the blame being placed upon them. "Go! Run! Get to safety! We'll come back for you!"

She still didn't really know if they had lived or not. Annis had been too busy trying to escape the enraged Begnion people who were intent on killing anything with wings to check on their condition.

Annis looked down at Castello's corpse. Loch was gone, she still had the Crest, but... she could do something. Her place was not here, not right now, on the battlefield. She knelt down, shakily taking Castello's bloodied body into her arms. Like he's sleeping... eyes closed, like he's just taking a nap... yeah...

Her wings spread wide, And Annis lifted off into the air, flying towards the forest. Towards the secret place she had been shown. "A burial... he deserves better than letting his body rot here..."

Ledreak Bonqueesha

PostPosted: Thu Jul 02, 2009 1:58 pm

Ledreak leaned back, and swung Graver around to catch her attack, and locked the lances together with the crowbar end. He spun it around, trying get her her grip to fail, or break her wrist, his lance was causing great pressure against hers. Her lance must have felt like a big oak tree at the moment. Graver doesn't cause the wielder to feel the weight, but the opposer to. It stays one constant weight to Ledreak, and no one else. It's his personal lance, you must assume.

"Feel tha rock with yo' senses, AND DON'T ******** ME UP." he commanded.
