I'd like to get a little info on the sector before writing out my system, such as its previous allegiances and if we've decided on a name.

Um...It was previously Imperial before Endor, after which as Imperial Forces began to lose power some voted for independence while others sided with the New Republic. Power between empire and NR have shifted back and forth with the situation near the core until it has equated to the current situation where a third of the worlds hold indepence, a third backs the New Republic, and a Third backs the Empire.
I say between 15-30 systems.

I dont think having one person do it all is a good idea, for various reasons. Not that I dont trust the quality of your work, quite the opposite, but I think we all need some say in this little experiment.
Stellars made his, its our turn now for the rest of us. If we can get at least 10 systems totally detailed, then I think well be fine with writing off the rest as unimportant with basic info on them. Unless we just want to do them all.

I agree. Each affiliation gets one major system, a minor system, and then the rest can be written off as back-world.
So, we should split up the descriptions. Stellar already wrote the Empire's. Let Rodyn work on the Rep, and whoever feels like volunteering can work on the neutrals.

ElladanKenet I agree. Each affiliation gets one major system, a minor system, and then the rest can be written off as back-world. So, we should split up the descriptions. Stellar already wrote the Empire's. Let Rodyn work on the Rep, and whoever feels like volunteering can work on the neutrals. I'll write up the Neutrals, then we can write up two other systems for misc use. The Neutral system is likely to be the center of attention so I'll be putting a metropolis world upon it named after the Sector, this is the capital in a sorts, or at least the mixing pot.

I'm thinking something like the Wheel: ramshackle and huge, mostly welded together pieces of other stations and ships.
Like, the Station Security Department is a salvaged ISD Bridge Tower

I'm thinking something like that. The Empire started on it, and then just up and left, so the locals took it over under an independent benefactor, making it mostly privately controlled.
I'm also thinking about having the Sector Rangers home base be either a single Capitol ship or a man-made asteroid with huge boosters.

I say give them a small base on either the capital planet, the main starport, or a small asteroid.
Then, give them one Heavy Frigate-sized vessel to serve as their command ship.
As for their own forces, I'd think a mix of Imperial and Private sector craft would be good, lke IPCs, Tartans, and CR90s
