As Jasper saw Shadow's eyes dart to the book she turned and closed it. As she turned back, crimson blood came into view from between his fingers.
Jas paled as the coppery scent hit her sensitive nose. Dreadful memories, almost like nitemares, replayed themselves in her head. Books around them became scattered limbs, torm apart by vicious winds. Shelves seemed like stone walls closing in on her, chair and tables flashed with blood. She even heard the sounds from that night. Wind howled silently to everyone but her own ears and lost souls crying out echoed in her memory.
''W-what happened?'' she asked, moving his hand gentley, trying to push the dark dreams aside.

Winced once more as Jasper removed his hand from the wound and the blood flow increased. "Nothing really, just got into a small altercation with someone from my past. Nothing to worry about..." he said weakly and he once more placed his hand on the wound. He couldn't understand why he had noticed the bleeding before, Prehaps it was because he was so focused on seeing Joy to tell her about what he had experienced while he was gone. No, that couldn't be it, it had to be that he has more concerned with seeing Jasper.
"I-I'll be fine..I think." he said as he leaned back in the chair a a wave of pain shot through his body. Why was he so weak. Rayan wasn't that stron...was he? "I just need to stop the bleeding and then it'll heal in no time." he told her with a smile as he leaned forward and kissed her cheek.

Jasper shook her head, muttering something sounding alot like 'boys!' under her breath. Her long brown hair had been tied back with a piece of white ribbon. She removed it, wrapping around what she could of the wound.
"Shadow... you need to get this healed. Go see the infirmary.'' It was a constant hassle, she realized, not to be able to heal even the tiniest of papercuts, never mind a huge gash in someone's arm.
"I'll come with you,'' Jasper stood, pulling him up by his hand. It'd be better for her to stay near the reminder. Memorys and fears had to be faced sometime.

Shadow writhed inpain as he felt the ribbon tied around the wound but once it was inplace and the bleeding was done, he smiled happily. "There's no need to go to the infirmary. I promise." he said happily. However, he stillstood when Jasper pulled him up by the hand and laughed as she mttered under her breathe.
"I promise you there's nothing to worry about anymore." he told her softly. "It would just be a waste of time to go to them." he told her as he flexed his arm to see how it felt. It stung a bit but beyond that there was no pain. He then removed the blod stained white ribbon from the wound and where it was there was only a long a ugly scar. "See, I told you not to worry about it after the bleeding stops." he told her gently,

Jasper was very relieved to see the bleeding stop. She gentley took the ribbon from him, folding it into her pocket. She'd wash it and hopefully get the blood out.
''You sure heal quickly,'' Jasper mused, running her fingers absently over the scar,''It'd take me meeks to get rid of a wound like this was.
''I have to leave soon'' she finally got out, after a pause,I leave for Fin'a Ridge, just south of the Thakii Range in a few days.''
Jas didn't know how to explainher reason for leaving. It was a complexe matter that she herself had only just decided to tackle.

Shadow nodded at Jaspers words. "Yeah, it's one of the side affects of the experiments from my past. Damn human doctors...not tthat I'm complaining about being able to heal quickly." he said with a slight smirk.
"Wha? what do you mean you have to leave? But we only just started to get to know eachother better." he said sadly as he dropped his gaze from her eyes to the floor. "But if you must go, then I understand. I'll be waiting for you here." he said softly as he felt Jaspers finger run along his scar softly.

""It's not like I want to go,'' Jasper sighed, Its just that being so close to Fin'a, I'll be called by my very essence. Its a Gathering of Storm and Wild sprites, persay. Once a year, great forces gather together to celebrate unity. Though I doubt my presence will be smiled upon; its been a great many years since I last attended.''
On a map, The Thakii Range was fourteen days ride east of Ria. She'd need to aquire supplies and transportation.
''As you said, we're just getting to know one and other, but somehow I don't feel akward asking you this...'' she hesitated, not out of fear of rejection, but fear of reaction, ''I know you have people to find so its okay if you don't say yes, but would you like to accompany me? We don't leave for a week and some yet so I don't need an answer right away and yeah....''
A blush once again colored Jaspter's cheeks as she too looked at her shoes.

Shadow thought for a moment. Go with her, was she serious? Of course he would, why wouldn't he?"Yes, I'll go with you.The person that I'm looking for hasn't seen me in a year, a little long won't do them any harm. he said with a laugh. " But won't you be chastised for bronging me? seeing as I'm not a Sprite or anything. I mean...I'm a Lullaby...which in essence is almost the same thing but not quite." he asked with a tone of joy in his voice.
The thought of being able to go with her had never accured to him. But now that he thought about it, it seemed like it would be a good experience for him after all the aner , pain and hate he had been through for so long. Over the past few days, most of that had been forgotten. at least for the time being. But never would that eternal hatred leave him alone, never. But as long as he fought it and had people to care for and love, he would fight it.
"so what do we need to do now?" he asked with a smile as he picked Jasper up and twirled her through the air while laughing. He was truely happy.

Jasper's heart was light as Shadow spun her around. She laughed along with him, earliers horrors no longer haunting her. Her mood was also lifted by his response. She'd not have to make the grueling journey alone, or face her similars without support.
Pages she'd read flicked through her mind, one standing out: 'The five Lullabys sometimes grace a gathering. They're god-like powers will create festivities among the gatherees''
''You should be welcomed openly at the gathering, oh great lullaby.'' Jasper teased, ''It has been a a while since a god joined us, besides Rhea, but she's Mother so it doesn't count.
We'll need horses. Law forbids us to arrive by modern transportation. Also, tents, provision and proper clothing. We're doing it old school.''
Happiness graced her features, shining from her eyes and gleaming from her wide, peaceful smile.

"Shadow smiled as Jasper explained to him that there would be no problem with himm showing up to the solstice with her. He nodded at her mention of the rarity of Lullabys."This is true, seeing as there are only six Lullabys in the universe." he told her softly. "But what do you mean I'm going to add to the festivities? he asked softly as he held her gently to his chest with a smile.
"As for the provisions, I know just where we can get them. Lets go back o the courtyard..I think a friend there can solve our problems." he told her softly as he stepped back a looked deeply into her eyes with a vibrant smile plastered across his face.

Nefidean closed her eyes she kept her hand over her color bone. "I don't think pendents are supossed to vibrate..." She murmmered softly to her self as she looked around. Seeing that no one was near by, she pulled out her pendent that she had keept hidden under her shirt. The medium sized pendent was about the size of an average gold pocket watch, golding being it's color of course, and had an emerald in the center of it.
Nefidean's mother had given this to her as a gift before she went off to Ria High, and though Nefidean wasn't very found of jewelry, she promised her mother she would always wear it. Now the strange pendent seemed to be vibrateing in her hand and gave a small glow of light that pulsated weakly. This only confused her more as she took a few steps further into the asile next to her.

"You feel at peace here, eh?" he asked. He did too, his first day at Ria, 4 months ago. It brought back memories that he had had about an hour earlier. This place seemed chock full of raw emotion. "Anyways, here is the library. I haven't quite explored this place yet, but It sounds pretty cool. I like to read" he said. He made another cheery smile. He was in a good mood. It must have been the weather. It was still cloudy, and he could feel rain coming on. He didn't know when though.

As Nefidean stepped into the asile, she noticed the light pulsated a few moments faster then it had befor. "That's strange... it's almost as if it's racting to something..." She said looking around at all the books. "Wonderful... I bet it's a book." She said sarcasticly to her self as she moved forward. Sure enough the pendent glowed more brightly and pulsated faster. Nefidean fallowed the pendnt useing it as a compass of sorts. "I hope this is worth it... I'm not much into books."

"Oh enjoy reading as well? I've always found reading a good book interesting when life gets stressfull." Fayth walked up to one of the large shelves and saw that there must have been thousands of books crammed into these shelves. "What kind of books are you into? I find fantasy or mystery books fun to read."

"Eh... I like a bit of everything. I like historic fiction the best though." he said. He headed off to explore the library. There were so many books! He finally found a good one and sat down on one of the large chairs they had. Soon, he heard a lightning strike. It was raining. The fireplace went up and he curled up in the chair, looking at the fire and reading his book.
