I...I wanted to apologize for this...I should never have run away, just because I was angry at Amestru...*Looks around* He's not here, is he?

Cat snorts indignantly, use yer nose, kid. Wolves have a distinctive scent. No he isn't here. I wouldn't be here if he was. He's been trying to separate my head from my shoulders for some time now. I probably deserve it too, when it comes right down to it. Lyssan is far to lenient if you ask me.

*Bows to him*
very well...he isn't here...you're right.
I...just...don't know what to do. Part of me hates him for what he did...but another part of me wants to forgive him and tell him I love him...I'm stuck between both.

Fence walking can be fun, if you're a cat, but I suppose it's hard on a dragon... says Zel thoughtfully. I know. let's make a list of sorts. Using pebbles. White pebbles are all the good things you like about Amestru, dark ones are the things ye hate. See which pile is bigger.

i'm not so sure this is one of those problems ye can sove like that, zel... says lyssan with a small grin... remembering it was she who had taught the cat to do this when first they met...

*Looks at Zel and Lyssan, then starts piling stones. he is about thirty stones in, with both piles about equal, when Amestru walks though the gate. Seeing him, and remembering the scream of the Nightmare as it died, drives Luciel crazy. He suddenly abandons his stones and flies staright at Amestru, his fangs bared as he collides with the wolf lord*

amestru merely holds him and lets him chew... there are tears in the old wolf's eyes but he makes no move to correct the young dragon.... instead he merely holds him tight and cries....

*Suddenly...Luciel is pulled off of Amestru by a serpentlike creature...a Quetwino...Kero's Apprentice...She flings him to the ground, her eyes glowing with an empty light*
So you still can't control your temper, youngling...well, by orders of my master...ye now won't HAVE a temper! *She looks at the dusty lion beside her* Are you absolutely sure about this, master?
Kero: I am, Rhea...he's shown that he has the potential...but not the maturity...so now we give him a piece of what our master used to do to us.
Rhea: But...what about you...in that kind of mind...
Kero: I will sleep...or maybe remain as a projection...I don't know. Do it.
*Rhea, guided by her master, quickly pipes a circle around Luciel, spinning it in a similar fashion to the one she fouled up earlier. meanwhile, kero moves over to Lyssan*
I wanted to apologize in advance for this, but it's not only a plan I had fostered for a while, It's our master's orders...and It's also how he punished me during my earlier years in the Void.
*The spell finishes as Luciel cries out...when the Aethr clears, kero is Gone, as is Rhea...Luciel is still there...but though his eyes have the glimmer of his intelligence behind them, he is much smaller...indeed, he looks...fresh out of the egg*

amestru looks helplessly at lyssan then reaches down and picks up the small dragon... he holds him close and moves to stand at her side... i won't let them kill that which makes him him, lyssie... i won't.... feelings are important... without them we are nothing...
lyssan smiles sadly in return and strokes the tiny dragons head.. she turns to her mate and asks... so what now... how much does he remember, do ye think?

*A dusty shape struggles out of Luciel's head*
He remembers everything, Lyssan...he is a hatchling, but in body only...don't expect him to speak or mentally communicate...but he should be able to make his feelings known...and Amestru...we didn't take his feelings...we have unaged him to the point where he can relearn to control them...or would ye rather he have torn those scratches on yer throat open all the way? He is an infant now, about a year out of the egg, and cannot be too much trouble. Again, I am sorry this had to happen...but I cannot disobey my master.
*He disappears as Luciel looks at Lyssan and wails*

great... so now we have an infant who is too smart for his own good...regressing the body without the mind solves nothing for nothing is unlearned... that's one of the reasons jor and i will never agree on certain issues... so right now we have a frightened angry dragonling caged... in a form he will find difficult to communicate in...
ah well... luceil, just so ye knbow... we understand... amestru, what's wrong?
how dare they! he growls angrily... do they believe i am incapable of defending meself or warding off a child if necessary? and for what? expediency? convenience? i swear to thee luceil, should they seek to harm thee further i will defend thee with my life if necessary... ye shall be free....
amestru... whispers lyssan softly, placing her hand upon his arm... they meant no harm...
the wolf glares at her, then turns and carries the small dragon into the palace

*Suddenly, Luciel shudders and Kero screams his rage...Luciel has just been stricken with localised Amnesia by a hidden spell, rendering Kero powerless to exit or even communicate, and leaving Luciel an infant in every meaning of the word. Jormungandr appears in an illusion to his sister*
Did ye think I don't learn from my mistakes, sister dear? I have used that technique on both Kero and Rhea...but as a punishment, not for learning. I instructed Rhea to weave a specific pattern into her threads, one that would allow my apprentice time to fall asleep before temporarily depriving the young one of his memories. I may be a snake in the grass and a stick in the mud, but I do learn when I make a mistake, Ina.

lyssan nods grimly... then i accept responsibility for the rearing of this child... though i doubt i'll get a word in edgewise with me mate... he seems to have taken a shine to him, jor... i pray you do nothing to hurt either one... for if you do..... she leaves the unspoken threat hanging in the air between them...
