((Sorries! Busy with Lie to Me. xD,))
Charlie nodded and repeated Ryuk's name once to herself. She did not a fabulous memory. Her eyes suddenly flashed brightly when she heard the word 'race' being uttered from Sam's lips. Seriously, wolves had acute hearing.
"Did I hear something about a race Sam?" Charlie called over to her werefriend, raising her eyebrows. She winked. "If so, can we wait till night?"
Somehow, the moonlight did something to enhance her abilities. Charlie always questioned why that was so.
((Lol, Dart, I was thanking you because you mentioned that Metal had the cat, if not I would not have known.
Don't worry Frogger, Dart can't hurt me! ^^))

((*glares* You're all morning people, aren't you. And Dart, that's fine. I wasn't expecting him to automatically know 'these are bullied from other kids', after all! XD Sora Kitty: Oh, good. Now I can make Sarah's roommate. >D))
Sarah stared out the window. Bands of color chased each other to the horizon. After a lot more running around, things had settled down in the dorm. Part of her wanted to observe, but by the sound of things, tension and lost possessions were rampant. She didn't want to get caught up in all of it. Sarah finished unpacking quickly. She didn't have much. The room - more like an apartment - was much too large for her, so she arranged her stuff in a small, close area, like a nest. She felt much better when it was finished. It was dark now, and still no sign of a roommate. Sarah sighed. She was fine by herself - she'd been alone all her life, after all. But still, she thought with a slight pang, it would have been nice to share this with someone. The door banged open and Sarah jumped. "Hello!" yelled a cheery voice. Sarah turned to see a sprightly girl of about fifteen standing in the doorway. She had bright blue eyes and hair of mixed blue and green, with a necklace to match. She wore a tropical halter top with decorations of flowers, khaki shorts, and flip-flops with small charms ranged along the straps. Although she was slender and lightly tanned, her cheerful smile and buoyant attitude made Sarah think she was perfectly ready to take on the world - and win. The girl scanned the room for a second, looking puzzled, then spotted Sarah by the window. Her expression cleared and she bounced over, dragging a rolling suitcase behind her. "Hi! My name's Mizuki Rill, but you can call me Melanie," she said, making a face at her real name. "Dad's crazy about all that Japanese stuff. What's your name?" "Um... S-Sarah Holtz," Sarah said, tentatively shaking the hand Melanie offered. This girl was more overwhelming than Gallant. "Hi Sarah!" Melanie said, then suddenly swept Sarah into a hug. Sarah froze. Was this how Melanie treated total strangers? Melanie let her loose and stepped back, holding Sarah's hands. "I think we're going to be best friends," she said, her eyes shining. "I mean, I hope so!" She laughed. "I mean, it would suck to live with someone you didn't like, right?" "Right," Sarah agreed. Despite herself, she gave Melanie a shy smile. The girl's happy attitude was infectious. Melanie saw the smile and grinned in return. "That's more like it! You can't be gloomy all the time! Even if you're a little homesick, you'll get over it. Oh, come on now," she said, noticing Sarah droop at the mention of home, "it can't be all bad. Here. Why did you come to school here?" Sarah hesitated. "Because they offer scholarships?" she said, but Melanie was already shaking her head impatiently. "You and I both know that's not the whole story," she said, eyes sparkling mischievously. She leaned closer. "Come on. What makes you special enough to get in?" Sarah held back. No one knew her true power except Toby. However friendly this girl might be, Sarah didn't feel like sharing her deepest secret with her ten minutes after they met. Still... "No one notices me," she offered. "And even when they do, they can't remember me for long." Melanie clapped her hands. "Awesome!" she said happily. "You would make a great spy, you know that? Or a bank robber! You could take stuff and no one would follow you, 'cause they wouldn't even know you'd been there!" "I guess," Sarah said. She hadn't thought of that. "Me, I haven't got any special powers," Melanie continued. "I'm one-eighth sea serpent, though - my great-grandpa was one." She made a disappointed face. "But I'm so far down the line, all I got were these ears and the hair." Melanie leaned over, parting her long hair, and Sarah saw with a shock that Melanie's ears were more like fins - blue and green, just like her hair. "But anyways!" Melanie said loudly, jumping back up and startling Sarah. "I won't forget you. I promise." Melanie held her hand on her heart solemnly. "I'll write your name on a thousand sticky notes and stick them all over the place. On the mirror, in my notebooks, on your bed, on your shirts!" With the last word she lunged at Sarah and tickled her sides. Sarah laughed, squirming. "That's the spirit!" Melanie said, pumping the air. She smiled. "Come on, let's get ready for bed. I want us to make a great entrance tomorrow!" *** Sarah had to give one thing to Melanie - she woke up fast. Five minutes after she first punched the alarm and groaned, she was over by Sarah's bed, shaking her and saying, "Get up! Get up! It's the first day of school!" Sarah drowsily made her way to the shower while Melanie went through her small pile of clothes, tch-ing and scoffing every once in a while. "Don't you have anything pretty?" she wailed as Sarah came out in a towel. Sarah blinked. "I didn't go shopping very much," she murmured, still half-asleep. It was true. Her birth parents sometimes let her tag along when they took Toby to the mall, and he'd made sure they bought her clothes. But since coming to live with Mrs. Torino, she'd had to update her wardrobe from the Salvation Army bins. Melanie let out a despairing sigh. "Figures," she said. Then she squared her shoulders with renewed purpose. "I'll just have to help you out, then!" A good half-hour later, Sarah was dressed in one of Melanie's flowing ocean-colored tops and her own jean capris. "Luckily, we have the same shoe size," Melanie had muttered as she dug out some stylish flats. Melanie had tried her best with Sarah's hair, but it didn't have much volume or spring. So she'd settled for making sure it was neatly combed and held a few strands back with a barrette. Melanie herself was wearing an empire-waisted green top with flyaway sections that set off her hair quite nicely. She wore jean shorts with tiny seashells stitched onto the hems and her charmed flip-flops. Her hair was waved and her eyes had a hint of blue eye-shadow. On anyone else, it might not have worked, but Melanie projected so much confidence that she could have made a potato sack look good. "Now, do you have everything?" Melanie asked. "Backpack, paper, pens-?" "Class schedule, books, room key," Sarah finished. She blushed a little. "Thanks for doing all this for me." Melanie stepped back and wiped a pretend tear from her eye. "My baby, all grown up," she sniffed. Then she gave Sarah a confident smile. "We're gonna knock 'em dead!" Grabbing her own backpack, Melanie headed out with Sarah in tow. "Now, remember, speak up whenever you can," she said. "Draw some small thing on your papers so the teachers'll remember-" She broke off as she spotted a knot of students up ahead. Melanie smiled and waved, pulling Sarah with her as she went up to the group. "Hey there!"
((*is ded* O_O My God. I had no idea this would be such a long post. *stretches cramped fingers* So, yeah. Melanie's an NPC, so anyone can use her, control dialogue, etc. She's very peppy and energetic, if you haven't noticed. A bit of background is that her great-grandfather and grandfather were Japanese, but her father was born in the US and so was she. Melanie lives in Florida. Her parents were really late dropping her off because their plane came in late. And I still have to do Jasper's first morning post. burning_eyes ))

"Oh come know Reven, if yu can run that fast than you caould pose a challenge to us." Sam pranced behind Charlie and hid behind the girl, peeking over the girls shoulder, "I like the way you think Charlie."
The woman noted the Ski and Ryuk and waved a greeting to them, "'Mornin'!"

Saki looked at Kit. "Huh? Your sister's a vampire?" she asked. "Maybe I should meet your sister." Well, at least I'm not the only vampire here, she thought.

No... no. Too many people, and too early. He recognized the kid from the day before, now holding a cat and... what was he doing, talking to it? As if it could understand. No, wait, it belonged to someone else? He wasn't a thief, no? No, he was catching it for her? Whatever the reason, it couldn't have been for anything good. It was rare to find that. The girl... was female. Yeah, that was the extent of his outlook on it. She clipped the animal, and started making converse with the kid. Ryuk. That was his name. Ryuk.
Several of them recently emerged from the building. Some had demeanor's... not un-like the urchins he survived around growing up. He hoped that they weren't... he hated getting in fights. And he wasn't really sure if he was up to it. Or even if he would win. Some of them looked... complicated enough to have learned how to fight. Did one of them have cat ears?
He stood up from where he sat and made his way to what he thought would hold either classes, or a cafeteria. There were no shops nearby, if he recalled correctly, so the school would have to provide some form of... stuff. He looked back at the group, and was all the happier to leave earshot, since another came and joined their circle.
After finding it, Nathan made his way in the Cafeteria, and was elated to have found some good soup. He coupled this with various other breakfast makings; toast, eggs, bacon. He broke into a smile when he found orange juice. He brought is breakfast down to an abandoned table. People went out of his mind as he ate through what felt like, and thought he didn't realize it, was in fact, his first real meal in a week.
[Holy snap, kittengrl. That's... long.]

Reven felt very crowded, the group was too much, he didn't like it. Nonchalantly Reven slipped away from the group, hoping that Sam or Kit might come with him to the cafeteria, if neither did it wouldn't matter, he would just find someone he knew and sit with them, perhaps even that vampire, seeing as how well yesterday went, he figured she might be interesting to strike up conversation with. After thinking about it he was hopeful to talk to her, without the comments from the blond boy or anyone else hopefully. Although it seemed hard to be alone with someone for him, because someone would always show up.
Walking briskly Reven entered the Cafeteria and saw it was mostly empty, but he loved how it looked, so clean and rich-looking, almost like a resturant. The tables were separated a lot more than he expected. Some tables two person only, some four to six people. Even little booths on the side((You said it was "prestigious" I hope I didn't over-do it)). He saw the vampire girl and quickly went to get an omelet and some fish with a hash brown, then went over to the vampire with his plate and set his food down in front of where he was going to sit(in front of her). "Is this seat taken?" Reven asked before sitting down, hoping she wouldn't say yes, implying that she didn't want anything to do with him.
((Hint Hint, Sam and Kit should stay in the group))
