((Luls. He isn't a Mad Scientist yet in the universe, SirBayer.))
Cado looked around. He had a feeling he'd prefer her dead if she wasn't his charge.

((Hm.
Does that mean his hair isn't long and/or pointy?))
"Not a word?" she snapped. Alyx grunted noncommitally. "Very well. I'll choose someone to stick with me. You there, the one with the long rifle," she demanded of Gabriel. "You come scan the crowds. Take a bullet for me, I hope," she added with irritation. There was something else to this, too. She seemed specifically irritated with the team members.

Ivan stretched his hands up into the air, making fists with his hands and brining his elbows down. He looked over at Kaylene and gave her a reassuring look. He walked closer to her and stood staring her down, his face twitching slightly, before beginning to speak.
“Don’t worry; I’ll stay up in the front with you. I probably have the most plating out of all of us here. Besides, if they rush the stage I have the best chance of defending you up close. Oh and anyone gives us trouble, then it’s slice and dice time.”

"Fine, you too. Snap to it," she demanded, clapping her hands as though they weren't going quickly enough. "The other agent team has the assigned weapons, they'll be around the corner. Go!" she added vehemently.

Cado raised an eyebrowless at her. "Right, I'm going to go talk to them for a moment," he told anyone who felt like listening and strode off towards the other agent team, thankful to have an excuse to get away from Madam Pissandmoan.

The other team consisted of four gentlemen. They were all rather large. One glanced over at Cado. He was holding several coats, which had obviously already been filled with firearms and ammunition. In his left hand was an M1014 and a box of shells. Marching over to Cado, he proffered them to him.
"Hades wants you to have these," he informed Cado. "You already know, but meh. I see you've met Ms. Valya," he added, then returned from his digression. "Eight shells already loaded, forty shells in the box. Watch the spread."

"Thanks," Cado replied, tucking his new weapon into his coat. It seemed to melt into the folds, straps, snaps, and buttons. "Just out of curiosity, do you find her as insufferable as I do?" he added in a conspiratorial tone.

The man grimaced and nodded. He was shaved bald, but had a vaguely Norse-esque beard - very large and tied into two braids. "She's horrible, and she doesn't like us. She gets nastier when she sees our agents or your mercenaries - she's hit a couple of Shae's men in passing," he added. "Lucky she hasn't gotten shot. Real smooth talker, though. Like any politician. Good news is this here is just as much about getting her in trouble as it is protecting her."
Alyx came up from behind and the man handed her one of the agentcoats. It had a P-90 and quite a few spare magazines and nothing else. "Here's yours," he commented. "Name's Cook. Joshua Cook," he added. Alyx regretfully pulled on the coat and fastened the buttons.

"Cado Long," Cado introduced himself. "What do you mean it's about getting her in trouble?"

Joshua chuckled. "So Hades didn't fill you in? That's okay, that's our job - you guys don't quite look the intimidating part. No offense," he added quickly, although it was true he was taller or broader than any of the members of 018. "We've got some... material on Ms. Valya. Blackmail stuff. Soon as this is over, we'll pretty much be able to push our way in and say 'this is our stand, you declare yourselves under our protection or we give all this away'. The people there will agree with her; they'll have elected her. If she doesn't go through, we pretty much kill her."

"Sounds like a good business plan to me," Shae said, walking up behind Cado. "Do I get a cool jacket?" He wasn't fond of people, but he had a soft spot for big, bald, nice guys,

((...Joe, the accidental creepiness is slipping out of the Cabal. xd ))
Joshua nodded. "Brilliant, I thought," he returned, holding out an agentcoat ((I'll draw a picture someday...)). It, too, had a P-90. It also had more magazines than the one handed to Alyx, not to mention a few moon clips for Shae's revolvers. The subtle hint at his nervous shooting would probably not go unnoticed.
Alyx gave something of a groan. "She's going out there," she commented. "Let's hope this works out."

"I'm all for it," Cado agreed. It was hard to feel bad for as huge of an a*****e as Ms. Valya.
