Robin kept up a brisk pace as he helped wheel Kai's gurney. She was still unconscious... and the morphine she was given would help with any pain she'd be experiencing the moment she did wake up.
"So... what is this place anyway?"

Des answered, "Welcome to Xavier's Institute for Higher Learning.... or what's left of it. When my powers manifested, I came here for help. It was a complete wreck and I got the basics up and running. Professor Xavier and a number of his students showed back up when they realized that this place wasn't abodoned."

An institute? Tim looked at Nightshade quizzically.
"This place doesn't look like a school to me....what kind of institute, exactly?"
That was the question to ask. A school with an underground medical facility, and who knows what else... this had to be some state-of-the-art school.

Nightshade answered, "Well, it's a school where mutants can learn how to control their powers safely as well as providing an education. These people have dwelt with people hating them for how they are.... Who we are. I'm still getting used to being a mutant myself."

Tim never thought of a term with the people he knew. For some reason it sounded so negative to him.

As the pulled into the infirmary, Nightshade began checking Red Cardinal's vitals, "This place is from the other world. They apparently had serious social issue here. In their own way, mutants here are going through a civil rights movement."

Tim stared at Nightshade. This was so weird.
"Alright...well, I guess... that makes sense."
He observed Kai's treatment quietly, and closed the door to the room before he sat next to her gurney.

Suddenly, Robin communicator came to life, "Ummmm... Starfire calling Robin. Come in please."

Tim practically jumped from his seat as he pulled the communicator from his belt.
"Starfire?! Star, where are you?"
Robin's voice was rapidly turning enthusiastic. He had tried reaching her before... and hearing her voice seemed to have changed the entire confusing situtation.

The response answered Tim's question, "I am in my apartment in Northern Gotham. Are you alright?"

"I'm- fine. A little confused, but... you have an apartment in Gotham?"
He stared at the communicator, remembering the line of facts Crystal had given him... she was working in Gotham. At the time all the information just attacked him at the same time.

Kai heard Tim's voice amongst other people talking a muffled sound and bright lights which she associated with hospitals... She kept her eyes closed but when she felt someone touching her arm, there were needles there she thought. Kai's wings appeared beneath her and quickly spread out to push the person away.
"Robin!"
She gasped, and it had exhausted most of her energy. She tried leaning forward and glanced at the people standing there. She felt weak and fell back to her bed. The pain from her wounds were completely gone. She didn't want to imagine that Tim took her to Gotham Central hospital when it wasn't safe. She looked away from them and felt upset... she had never been in a situation like this and it was embarrassing at best.

Tim's attention was split. The moment Red Cardinal woke, he stepped closer... and stepped back a bit as he watched the black wings form and push Nightshade away.
"Cardinal- it's alright!"

As Nightshade recovered from being thrown back, Robin heard his comm click on again, "Ummmmmm.... Hello TKF Force. Why are you floating outside my apartment? Can I help you?"

Red Cardinal was confused... Robin was the only person that she recognize in the room. She also didn't know where she was since upon evaluation the room wasn't like an ordinary hospital room like she believed it was.
