:"How long have you been in this guild?" Suri asked, a bit curious. She was not sure if she had ever seen this shinigami around before, so if he had not attained his zanpaku~to over two months ago she could not train him in shikai. It was a bit troublesome, but she knew why Captain Daven had had to come up with that rule in the first place.:

"I joined around 4 days ago, but just got my profile registered yesterday and started being active at the same time, hence my inability to activate Shikai" He replied, eyeing her robe and wondering what squad she was captain of.

:"I apologize then, but I cannot train you for your shikai," Suri replied, giving a slight bow of apology. "The guild rules state that you must be an active member for two months before you can get your shikai. However, you can start training the demon arts of kidou, although you cannot go higher than kidous above 35 right now."

Her gaze flitted over the field, glancing at all the other vice-captains, captains, and shinigamis who were either training or being trained. It had been a while since she had trained anyone for anything specific. As her mind wandered, Suri thought about the date that the new shinigami had just given her. Of all things, he still had not given her his name, but she was sure that if he had been here only a few days, he probably had not even created his own zanpaku~to yet.

"Do you have a zanpaku~to that you shaped yourself yet?" Suri asked, holding the boys eyes with a stern gaze. It was a typical case of a fledgling already aiming high. She did not discourage people from trying to obtain higher ranks, but so few of the new shinigamis ever practiced patience with it.:

"Oh, my mistake, you misunderstood me" Razil said, looking at her quickly. "I simply meant help me along, I know the rules as well s anyone, the truth is since i'm new, I don't really know where to start..."
He then realized what he had not done yet, his head snapped to attention "My apologies! I forgot to introduce myself, Razil Masamune, First Squad, unseated as of yet. I assure you I emant no disrespect maam." He bowed again "To answer your question, yes I have shaped my own Zanpakuto, it is strapped to my back as of right now." He slipped the belt holding his swor d off of his shoulders and offered it up to her.

:Suri assessed the sword sheath with one swift glance. Even though Razil had offered it to her, she knew better than to touch another person's zanpaku~to. Since it was shaped out of the other person's reiatsu, it was extremely impolite, and sometimes came with disastrous consequences.

"I am Suri, Vice-Captain of 5th squad," she said in response to Razil's introduction. "I am not sure how far I can train you. I am not a widely known figure in the Sereitei for any particular skill, but I would be happy to spar with you at any time, at which you could practice any skill you want. I like to consider myself one of the stealthiest, agile, wiley, or flexible though, although I have not been in enough battles to prove it. If you want to, we could practice a bit now, or you could come find me in fifth squad at any time, although I do not yet have an office. Just go to the Captain's office and request to speak with Suri I suppose."

Noticing how much talking she was doing, Suri stopped, letting the last sentence trail off. She had not meant to prattle on for so long. It was not often she felt like talking though. This made her realize how much more open she had become since joining fifth squad. Before, she had been more than just obscure.:

:"Very well, but this will have to be a short match. Five posts each," Suri replied.

She drew her zanpaku~to out from its sheath slowly, stilling the medallion on a four inch chain at the end of her hilt with her wide sleeve. The hilt was criss-crossed by silver strips of cloth with inlaid metallic strands. It reminded one of a dusty aftermath of a volcano, when the sun finally broke through and lighted up all the minerals left behind. The blade itself was a katana blade, except imperceptibly thinner and pure white as new fallen snow.

Suri held the zanpaku~to loosely by her side with her elbow bent back just slightly that the blade could still piece someone who ran foolhardy straight into it.

"You may begin. I will not use my shikai," Suri instructed.:

Razil reached back and gripped the handle of his own Zanpakuto. "Ill make it as challenging as I can!" He said, casting a wry grin towards her. He drew the blade out of his sheath, and the sun glinted off of its black blade. He raised the sword to shoulder height and pointed the tip towards Suri, moving into a defensive position. "I am sorry maam" He said quietly "But I made an oath once never to strike the first blow, and I intend to honor that vow." He stood, waiting, letting his senses focus into peak performance.

:Without a trace of hesitation, Suri walked slowly towards Razil. If he was bent on keeping his promise of not striking the first blow, it would not matter how close she came. When she was about 5 feet from Razil, Suri raised her blade slowly, and with careful, precise movements, she slashed it down towards his torso, tracing a line that would lead her to pierce the sword down and through so that it would reach his spine behind his stomach if it connected.:

Razil saw the blade come flashing towards him, he quickly set the tip of his sword under it as it passed and flipped it up. He then spun his sword around, continuing the arc, and slashed at Suri's now exposed stomach. "The extra length should screw with her intuition" he thought "But I shouldn't take any chances..." He automatically braced himself for a possible riposte.

:Suri stepped quickly to the side, using the momentum of Razil pushing her zanpaku~to up to twist it to the side and down, forcing away Razil's zanpaku~to from her stomach area in a mimicking move. As her zanpaku~to forced his away, she brought the swing forward, back towards his stomach, while she ducked under her blade so that she effectively stood behind Razil while her zanpaku~to was posed horizontally in front of him to slash his stomach. Once positioned, Suri lashed out with her leg, intending to trip him into her blade. If he fell backwards it would be an easy thing to step to the opposite side of the arm that held her blade so that he would fall backwards onto her blade instead.:

Razil saw what was coming and nimbly leapt up, because of the low height of the incoming blade and his relative strength, he was able to plant his feet on the slashing sword and jump off of it, twisting around in mid-air slash at Suri's back.

:Suri smiled inwardly at the agile movements. It was what she would usually do in a fight. Unfortunately, she also knew the downfalls of it. Since they were in a clearing and Razil had already used her blade, he had very few other things to control his momentum in the air. With a quick twist of her wrist, Suri brought her zanpaku~to behind her back to parry Razil's sword movement and throw his zanpaku~to to the side. If she judged correctly, because of the temporary "weightlessness" he had in the air, Razil's body would be moved slightly along with his zanpaku~to, giving her a chance to slash straight out from her back and hit a part of Razil.:

(( I have some feedback and advice to give you after the fight, so don't leave the zanpaku~to training grounds after we both reach 5 post ^^ ))

((Okay, thank you very much! 3nodding )) Razil twisted slightly, allowing his body to move with the force of the parry, spinning him completely around, as his feet touched ground he brought his sword arm swiftly towards the front, though not the sword itself, he couldn't have done it in time. The only way to guard against the inevitable attack was to let the hit fall on his forearm, so he braced himself.

:Suri felt her hit land, but she did not wait to see where. Since Razil had landed and her zanpaku~to had hit, it meant that he was in a position to retaliate, and her back was turned to him. Suri twisted under her arm, causing her zanpaku~to to dig in a bit further before she pryed it out, facing Razil. At this point, he was probably prepared for whatever attack she would use, so Suri decided on basic combat, bringing her zanpaku~to to the side before slashing it diagonally, tracing an arc from Razil's right shoulder to his left hip. It would be easy for him to block, but it would allow her to get in position for her next move depending on what attack he used to follow up his next block.:
