"I don't want to kill myself. That's why I think that particular change can wait till we're in a docking bay, or at least in real-space again. It'll take me at least a day to assemble the replacements for those things anyway. Everything else I can do inside."

"All the same, I dont want you tinkering with the Ruusan while we're in flight." Jag said. "Its just asking for trouble. You can wait a day until we hit Garqi. Then you can do your modifications. But no tinkering while we're under way."

"Alright captain, makes sense. I'll hit the galley and then the bunk. If something breaks be sure to wake me." Helix said as he headed back to the lift.

" Guess that one's for the dog. " Laura said to herself, picking up a leftover sandwhich that would most likely go bad before anyone would eat it next. Getting up, she headed to the lift and made her way to the cargo deck. The akk dog perked up when it heard someone coming.
It excitedly ran over to her, and eagerly chomped down when she threw the sandwhich in its direction. After a nuzzle, it went to get its ball and bring it to her. " Alright, I'll play with you for a minute but then I gotta go. " Laura said, picking up the ball and hitting the button on it, then throwing it, the akk dog chasing after it.
Laura was used to how the large dog acted. In the past she would frequently feed it treats of whatever would otherwise just go to waste when Xan was around. Getting its affection was easy. The only problem was it seemed to always nudge her towards Xan if he was in the same room.

Someone else was in the room now, Tabula's heart raced with fear as she cluched her stuffed toy tighter to her chest. Her stomach growed again loudly and Tabula put her hand over it, trying to silence it and praying the person in the room didnt hear it.

“Sorry Cap’, it’s just a habit of mine to run a systems check after breakfast,” Niomie twisted in her seat to look over her shoulder at Jag. “If it really bothers you that much I won’t do it anymore.”

"What the hell?" Gairus said aloud. "Who's in here? Answer me or I start shooting!" True, Gairus's blaster was in his bunk, but the stranger didn't need to know that.

Tabula stayed as quiet as she could, one hand over her stomach, one hand over her mouth. She prayed that the man would just leave

Complete and utter silence. Gairus didn't like that. His shoulder rig was on, but no blaster. He still clicked open the strap. "I'm pulling it out! Show yourself or you WILL die!"

Needless to say Tabula was now scared, If she stayed where she was she would die. She had no choice, she had to run despite the consequences. Tabula crawled out from behind the vending machine and ran past the large man and out of the room. She didnt know where she was going, but she had to get away.

Gairus instinctively bolted after the girl as she ran through the deck. "Don't let her get to the lifts!" He shouted, only a foot away from tackling distance.

"I was already here. I already did a systems check." Jag said. "You dont think I dont know how to run my own boat? But had someone done their job, there'd be a watch posted so someone would always be up here monitoring things." Jag glanced at Kaleb with a frown, giving a clear idea of who's responsibility it was.

“Who, me?” Niomie gave Jag a hurt look. “I’d never suggest the you didn’t know how to run your own boat Cap’, “Niomie begin. “ But a posted watch rotation for the bridge sure would be nice thou.” She gave Kaleb a sidelong glance. “So we don’t have this type of confusion again.” She reached over to power down her terminal and stood up. “If I’m not on duty and you have nothing special for me to do Cap’ I’ll be going below then.”

"Actually, since you're so in favor of a watch rotation, then I think now would be a good time to set one up. You can work on it while you watch the helm." Jag said as he stood. "Its your shift starting now. I'm going to grab some breakfast."

Mareal had stood right around the corner of the hallway, waiting for the perfect time. As the thing bolted around the corner, Mareal's hand shot out and grabbed the youngster's arm in a firm grip. Warrior's reflexes honed through echani martial arts and jedi training was superior to a child's developing body and strength.
"Please sit still. I don't vant to hurt you," Mareal's soothing voice cooed, as she grabbed tight. She refused to give up her handhold.
