Ruo blinked, shrugging a little, trying to act not-so-nervous. "Is it that obvious?"

Yes. Hiyoshi laughed softly, waving it off so that the boy knew it was nothing to be ashamed of. But perhaps that's a good thing~ Strangers can be...strange. she laughed lightly, resting back to relax against the warm rocks she sat apon.

Ruo turned a little red. "I suppose I'm just unused to it. Going to a boarding school and all. I knew most of everyone. It's....quite different here. "And I agree. I mean, not that you're strange."

Ah...yes, this place is terribly different than a boarding school, especially when you know noone. Hiyoshi tried her best to be sympathetic, but honestly couldn't fathom how the boy must feel. She had never been exiled (Which is how she viewed boarding schools to be) and wasn't shy.

"Well, technically I'm not alone. I have an older sister, and then another two sisters. I'm one in a set of triplets." He added the last part to avoid any confusion with another small shrug. "But it's still a new feeling."

Hiyoshi nodded, offering an apologetic smile. I meant nothing offensive of it, Ruo, she cooed, tilting her head to him. I simply meant that you knew nobody out of your family circle.

Ruo ducked a little. "I suppose assuming things is a bad habit in my family....And that's very true."

Well, Everyone assumes something sooner or later, so I wouldn't beat yourself up over it. Hiyoshi offered, summoning an icy glass of water to sip before it disappears again, not thinking that it might be unusual for the boy to see something as such.

"For me it's more like...everyday...." he said, trailing off as the glass appeared and dissapeared, blinking.

Hiyoshi paused as the boy blinked, and laughed soflty, shaking her head. I'm sorry, Ruo. I tend to not think before I summon and dismiss things. She shrugged a shoulder as she thought on his words, and tilted her head towards him. Perhaps assumptions are just a part of your personality...Who you are.

"I suppose I'd be more surprised if I didn't know about magic here..." Ruo shrugged. "If it is, it certainly seems to run inbetween all my siblings. Blood relation or no."

That could very well be. If you grew up with parents or caretakers who were a certain way, chances are you'll absorb some of that. It's only natural, and really nothing to be ashamed of. Each person has their own little thing about them. she giggled, tilting her head and summoning another glass of ice water, offering it to the boy.

Ruo shook his head in a 'no thank you' gesture before finger-combing through a few tangles, thinking. "I suppose so. That's nuture for you, I suppose." He thought another moment. "You know, you seem to be quite the insightful one."

Hiyoshi blushed but offered an appreciative smile. I've gathered quite a bit in my years. she offered, feeding in somewhat to that whole 'A woman never shares her true age' thing. Though, as she thought on it a moment, how would the boy act to finding that the woman he spoke with was hundreds of thousands of years old despite her appearance to be in her mid twenties?

"Some more than others, I suppose," Ruo said, scratching his head faintly. In the long run, there isn't much to it thought, is there? He asked himself. What a grim thought.
