Konoha nuzzled him, "I hear they do that." She normaly seperated herself from talks about parents but they never bothered her much. "I would have been jealous had you chosen any one else." She spoke the truth no matter how weird it might seem.
Colonel clucked to Destiny and the mare streched her stride to the max. They flew over the ground, racing the river as well as each other. She managed to catch up to Destiny and kept pace for a minute before falling behind again.

"If you had said no, I would of been jealous if I had ever seen you with another stallion."Path said gazing at the fallen gelding and the man.
Wildfire slowed her pace a bit tiring already. She tossed her head. Gwen laughed loving the feeling of flying over the land.

Konoha curiously watched the man and gelding along with Kalypso and Eclipse. "No other stallion has ever expressed intrest. At least non that I know of."
Destiny had fallen quite a bit behind but though her speed wasn't great she had high endurance. She was still enjoying the run and closed the gap between them. Colonel let the reins slid through his hands and lay against the mare's black neck. He threw his hands into the air and looked over at Gwen.

Wildfire slowed to a stop. "Whats up girl?"Gwen murmured patting the mare's neck.
Path trotted over to the gelding. He softly touched the horse with his muzzle. "Are you okay?"he asked caringly. He had a gentle and caring nature. He hated to see others in pain.

Colonel saw Wildfire stop and sat back in the saddle. He grabbed the reins and pulled back sending Destiny into a sliding stop. He turned the mare around and went back to Wildfire. "What is it?"
Konoha watched Path wander over to the gelding. She followed but stayed a good length away from them. Wringing her tail she stood with her ears flicking uneasily.
Johnson watched Path cautiously. The gelding still had not gotten up but he flinched at Path's touch. His ears flicked towards Johnson's voice. With a little encouragement from the man the bay struggled to his feet, leaving the saddle and bridle on the ground. Johnson placed a steady hand on the gelding's neck. The gelding shook himself and turned to Path. "I'll be fine, just sore. Very sore."

Kalypso was still trembling, more violently than ever. When he spoke to the gelding, his voice was very shaky. "I-I am really sorry...I don't know w-what came over me...I hope you can forgive me.." he said quietly. He then turned away from the gelding and the man, from Path and Konoha, and from Eclipse, not looking at any of them, and he walked slowly over to the corner he had been standing in when they had first seen him with his head low, almost to the ground. He reached the corner and finally let his knees buckle under him and he fell hard to the ground. He lay his head on the ground, not looking up at any of the horses or men around the fence line, just lying there, staring into nothing. If they hadn't known he was still living, he would look dead.

"I think she is just tired."Gwen said hugging her mare.
"I know you won't understand, but all of us were born in the wild. We belong there. Capturing us takes away part of who we are. Kalypso only attacked your man because humans killed his mom and he saw it."Path said to the gelding.

"Ok, that was quite a stop for being just tired." Colonel held Destiny's rein's tight as the mare was pulling at the bit. "You want to go back?"
The bay watched Kalypso walk away as did Johnson. The man had stepped forward to go and see if Kalypso was truely unhurt but the gelding gently pushed him back. He turned to Path with a kind of wisdom showing in his eye that came only from experience. "Dear young one, you have much to learn. I remember how it is to run free and wild, nothing stopping you or telling you where to go. I was your age when my herd was captured, and as of now I am the last one surviving. I have seen my herd mates, die and be sold to other places, and yet I can hold nothing against them. It is not me but you who won't understand." He spoke calmly and gently so as not to offend the stallion.

Eclipse stood and watched Kalypso walking away; she waited until the gelding had finished what he was saying. She took a deep breath and let it out, "I don't know if I will ever be able to understand how you feel that way." Now that she knew he was going to be okay and had heard what he was going to say, she turned in the direction where Kalypso was, and launched into a canter.
She made it over to him in a few seconds and very lightly nuzzled his neck, seeing that he was still breathing. She whispered, "Kalypso? He said he would be okay, and I don't think he really holds it against you. Are you alright?" She stood with her head low, her face furrowed in concern.

Kalypso slightly raised his head at Eclipse's touch, then let it fall to the ground again. He sighed. "Eclipse, I feel like an idiot. When I charged, I didn't know what was happening, it just happened...if the gelding holds that against me, I wouldn't blame him..." he looked up at the now setting sun. "I hope we get out of here VERY soon...I can't take much more of this place...." he said, sounding almost hopeless.

Eclipsed nodded and nuzzled him again; she couldn't really blame him for feeling this way. "I think that perhaps he doesn't hold it against you as much because you were after the human and not him." She paused for a moment, then continued, "I know, I want to get out of here too. I hate it here..." She was unsure whether to lie down next to him or stay standing.

Kalypso looked up at her and smiled slightly. "Either way, he's still friends with the human...but if we don't get out of here soon, I hope one of these humans just puts a gun to my head...I'd rather die than spend the rest of my life living around them..." he said, saying the second part quietly.

'No. I think a little swim might help her."Gwen said leading Wildfire back to where Radar was.
"Well then explain it to me."Path said cocking an eyebrow.

Colonel followed Gwen back to the pony and slid out of the saddle. "Alright then a swim it is." He loosened the girth and hauled the saddle off Destiny's back. He went to Radar and unpacked the pony. Once both animals only had bridles on he led them towards the water and turned to wait for Gwen.
The gelding wasn't ready for this and returned the cocked eyebrow. "I'm afriad young one that it is something that cannot be explained. I favor the humans for the kindness and friendship they have shown me and yet I know that there will always be horses who cannot face humans. To be wild is something beautifull and yet to work with a human is aslo beautifull. Understanding comes with time and maybe someday you will come to understand why horses like me accept the humans and defend them." He never broke eye contact with Path, not even to nuzzle his human.
Konoha got up enough never to stand at Path's flank but never more. She stood close enough so that her shoulder touched him and listened intently to the gelding speek.

Gwen unsaddled Wildfire and led her into the water. Once in the water she slipped onto the mare's back.
"My herd is still out there. They will die without a leader to lead them. Whatever kindness they show you they do not show to us. I am wounded because of the rope they used to catch me and because of the monsters they keep as pets. How is it kindness when a man comes up and touches your injuries knowing it will hurt?"Path asked looking the gelding in the eye.
((Can I have it where Wildfire is pregnant?))
