1. I play the drums. I also play piano, violin, and bass guitar, but not in band.
2. My instrument is not currently named.
3. My band director said chairs put too much pressure on the students, so we only use them in special cases (trumpet, clarinet, trombone). I am a co-section leader, though.
4. My band director is random sometimes, but really funny and encouraging.
5. There are seven percussionists.
6. I use Vic Firth sticks, I guess. Remo drumheads?
7. The hardest song I've sightread is Rumble on the High Planes. (I really screwed up...) The hardest song I've played is Half Moon on the Hudson, by Michael Sweeney, mostly because half of my section was gone and I had to cover the part by myself.
8. I am in high school.
9. My parents go to the performances, and my sister plays (or played, since she just quit) the flute, but I wouldn't really call them band geeks. My other sister doesn't do anything related to band at all.
10. What's that supposed to mean?
11. Our band doesn't really have any inside jokes. There's this one about our first chair flute, but you had to be there to get it.
12. My sticks would be black. Very visually dynamic.
13. I just joined the drumline, if that counts as a non-band extracurricular.
14. My band director made all of us label our sticks, so there's that. I also wrap the base with blue painter's tape, so it's identifiable.
15. My main pair of sticks have so many dents, even thinking about counting them gives me a headache. They've all come from bashing the stick on the rim of the drum.
16. I look kind of distracted when I'm playing drums, mostly because I'm staring off into deep space. (Or the sheet music, but who can tell?)
17. The best compliment I've gotten is when my band director told me she considered me for a music department award. Only one student in the whole department gets one, so it was really, like, wow. Unfortunately, I tend to "fade into the background" too much, so she considered me too late, and the first chair flute I mentioned got it.
18. The weirdest instrument I've ever seen is one of those bass trombones. Why the heck does it need so much tubing?
19. I always tap my foot, especially if the song is hard to count.
20. It seems like the bass clarinets are always annoying me and taking time out of the band. They play well though, which is their saving attribute. Of course, nothing against bass clarinetists except for the two that I'm talking about.
21. I've never taken any private lessons.
22. This quiz is enlightening. It makes you think about your music life.
23. The rest of the percussionists are guys, so I can't really connect with them, and they can be jerks sometimes. Also, they talk about things that I really don't want to know about during class, which means I get to know about it.
24. I love band. I like to think that I'm not a geek, but I have been called that a time or eight.
25. It takes me about thirty seconds to grab my stick bag and my music, and pull out the ones I need.
26. I don't really practice all that much, but, like I said earlier, I'm co-section leader, which means I must be doing something right.
27. I have some friends in band, but none of them are really close, except for my sister.
28. Once, on April Fools, one of the other percussionists brought a can of silly string to class. I got sprayed, but so did my band director and a whole bunch of other people.
29. We used to have a grey band polo, but we just switched this year to a black button-up shirt tucked into black pants with black shoes and black socks, and a gold tie.
30. Like I said earlier, this quiz is very enlightening, if time-consuming.
31. I use Vic Firth sticks and Remo drumheads. My electric drumset is Ion.
32. As far as I know, no one has ever fallen off a chair or tripped.
33. The quiz was fine. I'm sort of glad that it's over, but it was fun.

I once fell with my drum on and put a massive crack in the rim, but I replaced it a few months later.

I dunno. Probably not when I'm marching, 'cause then you can't see half of me. But everything else, yeah, I guess. But not clarinet.

Being told by somebody who'd been like my mentor (and who was a LOT better than me) that I was really good at guitar, and had a lot of potential. Also, the various "Best Percussion" awards we got at MB competitions my first year.

MB- Dinkles, black pants, Green jacket with a white sleeve (can't remember which side), shako and black or white plume. Line doesn't wear gloves and gauntlets (nor does pit, but they don't even wear shakos), but winds do.

Yeah, but it was a mistake. He thought my horn was someone elses, so her switched all the valves around and got them stuck in the middle of marching practice! It took my section leader 10 minutes to get them unstuck!

Umm, I practice even if I have stuff down pac. I like to make sure that I outshine the rest of the people when it comes to playing alone. I am very competitive with music.

For clarinet and Sax I use Vandoren reeds and for Oboe mine are specially made and come all the way from michigan(i live in Tennessee). I use Dr.Slick for cork grease and my keys are always oiled by a professional.

I rarely practice unless I'm grounded then I practice for fun, cuz it is fun, but sometimes, most of the time I just don't feel like practicing though.

I have friends in band, my second trumpet is my friend, and so is the third, and fourth and the one that never plays, and the guitar player, two clarinets, a trombone, 4 drummers, 2 french horns, 2 baritones, 1 tuba, 1 bari sax, 3 alto saxes, and 2 flutes, oh and the BD XP.

2: Mr.P only goes in there after school
3: ITS TOO FREAKIN SCARY
and why? we says it's his raping chamber O_o....that's why nobody comes alone after school or during lunch.

eh....my drumsticks are defined by it's markings that i have carved away into it from drumming so much. and my drums are determined by my drumheads, they're all dented up and whatnot (hence the name: Sir Dents-alot)

lots of those. mostly on my tempo. like in this song: "Antiphonal Celebration" it was so awesome lots of sixteenth notes and whatnot, made me so excited to play it! i even had a solo. my band director would say: "Good job, you're tempo was right on." or he'd run back and give me a high five and then run back to the podium O_o

ehrrm.....that could very well be the bagpipes lol. and maybe some other instrument that i have yet to find out its existence.

story behind that. I'm a former trombone player (when from 5th chair, to 3rd, to 1st! (out of like, 11) ) and our band director told us to TAP OUR FEET to the music, so we could keep tempo, right? so, i made the tryouts to percussion (only girl YEAH!) and the teacher told us NOT to tap our feet O_o and here i have to count on my fingers...

ok trombone: a good thirty seconds or so. we had a time limit at my old school to put together our instruments. however, with the drums, I just have to grab one of the school snares and set it up to waist high, position my hands and forearms, test out the snare, and i'm ready to go! (that takes a good one minute or so)

Well, it's near impossible to be geeky in just one way. I was still looking for music and such when i quit band, and i play lots, so i'm definetly a band geek. And i'm an anime geek, computer, video game, book, fantasy/sci fi geek too, so yeah.

three seconds. Open case, remove body, attach head, attach foot, done. even quicker with the piccolo, it's only two pieces.
