Money?
G4 had more money. But TechTV was much more successful, and also their direct competition. Least as far as I read in the business pages. G4 was circling the drain so they took the last of their capital and bought out TechTV.
... Within 6 months pretty much the last of TechTV's SUCCESSFUL programming was cancled, other than X-Play, that still lurks around. And they replaced everything with their crappy, failed G4 programs.
Despite having no competition their G4 programs continued to suck and fail in the ratings category. With every show other than X-play that was successful cancled they had nothing to go to.
So they started contracting every cheap show they could get. So a channel ment for "Gamers" and "Tech Geeks" now shows mostly things like Cops and other syndicated, old shows that still struggle in the ratings.
Oh, and they stopped showing Anime. TechTV used to have all the neat anime you didn't see anywhere else like Abenobashi, Silent Mobius, Betterman, etc. xP

I really did like betterman. I mean he eats a fruit and turns into a monster..... it doesn't get any better than that.
((Oh and in response to someone's post, Twilight princess does kick as much a** as you'd think.))

Betterman was neat. Though I found the main character kind of annoying. sweatdrop

It is. Just never felt like it was really going anywhere though. You know, some vague plot that was just going to drag on forever.
Oddly one of the randomly cute animes I watched lately was "Animation Runner Kuromi". Neat little OVA.

Haruhi was fantastic. It's the only anime that I was so upset over being licensed that I actually BOUGHT it. I never buy anime DVDs, but I wanted to have that series so badly, that when I couldn't download it, I went on a rampage for the DVDs of the series.
It had a fantastic cast of characters, and it was far from the basic high school anime, which everyone thought it was. I was completely blown away by it (and confused at first, like everyone else with the achronological order), but once you got to that last episode, everything just fit together. It had a perfect ending, and it was a completely original story. I absolutely LOVED IT. It's probably my favorite series of all time.
And I do know the whole dance by heart (and I'm able to sing Hare Hare Yukai by memory), as a few of you have seen.
I never got to Saiyuki Reload, but I did see the beginning of the first Saiyuki series. I absolutely Loooooove Hakkai and Goujyo. And no one could forget the classic dragon that transformed into a Jeep. XD

You were wrong and you were right But you were a l w a y s
I only saw the first six episodes [AKA: The first book] of the anime. I've read the entire series of novels though [what's come out and has been posted online, that is]. I have to say that the novels really can't be beat. Because, Kyon's narrative style is so...perfect. It's portrayed well in the anime. But really, I just love the style of the novel. Can't. Be. Beat.
I also know the dance and song by heart. But I know a lot of songs and dances by heart. [Why yes, Double You (W) is one of my favorite J-pop groups. And yes, I did cry when Aibon was fired. And finally yes, I did shamelessly steal Nozomi's name from her.]
Also, if you want an anime that has a 3D feel like Haruhi and is just beautiful in atmosphere, characters and music [if you like soft, classical music] then Princess Tutu is a great bet. It's the only anime I personally want on DVD. And when they put out the box set, I'll be rolling over for it. I know a lot of people would say it's kind of stupid to say that Haruhi and Tutu are ANYTHING alike, but they are both amazingly written and have this wonderful feel to it that will leave one feeling both entertained and satisfied in the end. Something some animes fail to do. [Not to name any...]
The perfect song of little light In my new day
