Rell grinned as he watched his brother interact with the females.
"Now now Brooke." He said in an admonishing tone. "Brazen is very tough.. He could surely talk the ear off an elephant.. And with jaw power like that, who can beat him?"
He smirked wickedly at his brother and gave a little shrug, turning toward where his parents stood.
Illitashia laughed at Rackna and smiled. "I will come visit you and your lovely wife, oh lazy King... For I would miss you so if I didn't..."
She turned to search for her daughters.
Elli smiled at Rackna. "I think you wanted new cubs trotting around here, my love."

Briseis trotted around boredly, she huffed. Last time she checked she wasn't as big as she was now. She wanted to be small, right now. Never wanting to grow up, just to stay the same. Oh well, she climbed herself up into a baobab tree and let half herself hang off, she liked it when the wind blew on the limbs hanging off the branch. Her ears erect and her azure eyes looking at the ground. She looked up as she seen a few roaming lions, she hadn't had a decent conversation in awhile but some how she wasn't longing for one either.

Brooke nodded at Rellick.
'I'll say!' She turned back to Brazen and tried to pummel him in the stomach with her paws.

Rellick gave a final chuckle and trotted away from the group, seeking his father and mother's attentions.
Elli heard her son approach, knowing bye the rhythmic and timid steps it was Rellick. A moment later, his scent hit her, he was nearly an adult. She smiled. "Hello my son..."
Rellick gave a deep bow. "Mother, Father, I would like.. I would like to ask your blessing as I leave the Pride, today.. I want to go begin my own Pride, I have found lands that suit me..."
He trailed off and smiled.

Brooke turned a finely tuned ear toward Rellick as he trotted away, chewing absently on Brazen's ears as she did so, and batting at one of his flakes. Her thoughts turned to a skinned elephant, and Brazem and...
'What?!' Brooke sprang up, almost choking on Brazen's ear as she did. She forgot that Elli and Rackna were there. She forgot how big and intimidating Rackna looked. She forgot everything as she leapt up. 'You... you're leaving...? You can't leave!'
Suddenly, it felt as though the world was crashing down around her again. It was almost enough to send her reeling back into the lion she had been - wary about bonding and connecting and really getting to know anyone, because she knew that sooner or later that someone would be torn out of her life forever.
Rellick had been the first real lion she had met. Not that Elli wasn't 'real'. It was just Rellick's energy and hype, and his sunny moods and games. He had been her first real friend since her mother had run away with her sister and left her behind. He and Elli had been the first ones she'd decided to trust again, and had brought out a side in her she had never quite seen before, happy and playing. And now... he was leaving?
She should have known better. She should have stayed as she had been, cold and uncaring for the world, because she knew from experience that happiness couldn't, and wouldn't, last forever. But she had let down her guard for just those few moments, and now, it was her life all over again.

The soft cry that echoed his words made Rellick turn to Brooke, apology in his eyes. He stepped back to her and nuzzled her cheek.
"Hey! Hey.. Its ok Brooke, I'm not going far.. I'm just not going to be living here.. I'll come visit you, and you can come visit me, alright?" He smiled gently at her.
"I promist not to dissappear on you, I never leave my friends." He said honestly. "I'll always come back for you... Ok?"
'Always.' As he looked down at her, it made him sorry he had spoken to his parents when she was so near, it probably sounded like he was running off and never comming back. That wasn't the case at all.

Rackna shifted to face his approaching son, his face falling as he heard his son's words. Leave? Start a new pride? It was a terrible feeling, that his children were growing up so fast.. He had hardly gotten to teach them anything. To hunt, to fight, to survive. What if they didn't make it out there all alone? His eyes landed upon Elli, unsure what to tell their bold son.
Brazen's eyes widened as Rell went to talk to Father. He closed his eyes, praying that it would not be about Rell starting a new pride, as he had mentioned off-handedly to Brazen one day. He shook his head, trying to shake away the thought as he turned, quickly walking in the other direction.

Briseis looked in the distance to see Rackna, Rellick, Brooke and Elli talking. As a curious cub she wanted to know what was going on so she climbed half way down the tree but landed on her tooshie when she still couldn't land right. She sighed as she bounded out for them, upon arriving she sensed something either sad or depressing was going to happen.

Rellick turned back to his father, meeting the odd colored eyes with his own golden ones. He was as bold as brass, and new it was time for him to leave, perhaps a little early.. But still, time..
Elli jumped like she had been shocked, biting back words of denial as she caught sight of the lion her son had, and would, become. There was an iron resolve just under his soft coat, and it showed in his glinting golden eyes. She ducked her head a moment, then looked at Rackna. He was king, he would be the one to say goodbye, right now her heart was in her throat and she couldn't draw breath.
((Gonna introduce Aritania to the Pride... ))
Jadera lay under the shade of a tree, smiling as her newest siblings tumbled about. The scarlet female, all marked with gold, was called Aratania. She was sweet, until you crosses a certain line. Jade smiled as the little cub hissed at grasshopper and pounced at it.
Aritania glanced up at her chuckling sibling and smiled. "Jade? I did good?"
She beamed as the pale lioness nodded. "YAY!"

'But...' Brooke sought for the right way to put it, just so it wouldn't sound like she was accusing him, but it was barely possible to form the words of the blunt way to say it. 'You're still going away.'
Her steely-blue-eyed gaze caught his and she stared at him for a moment, then turned her head away slightly.

Rellick turned and nosed her. "I'll come back to see you, as often as you want.. I'll take you to my lands so you can come visit me... I won't ever really leave you."
He purred and rubbed his cheek against her neck, asking to be forgiven... This was just something he had to do..

For a moment, Brooke didn't move. Then she seemed to give in, half-heartedly returning Rellick's gesture.
'Well, you've already decided to go, haven't you? I can't very well stop you, now can I?'
I won't ever really leave you. He'd said. Brooke gave him a watery smile and bobbed him on the nose with her paw. 'I know.'

Rell laughed and nuzzled her again. "Alright then.. How often should I come visit you?"
If she wanted him to, he'd come everyday. She was a friend, and Rellick wasn't about to abandon his friends.

At first, she was tempted to say every day, but she knew she could never really see Rellick every single day, know he had his own life with his own pride, and not feel guilty. Everything inside her told her to say it. To just say every day. But she couldn't. And if it wasn't every day, then she didn't know how often he should visit. And she knew she didn't want to dictate his visting. He might get bored, and then he wouldn't come as often.
'Only as much as you want.'
