"Gold for the startup costs?" Ulani asked, turning back towards the house and beckoning for Donovan to follow her. "It'll be quite a bit, especially if you're not going to be back for quite a while yet. Builders of course will need quite a bit, what you want will take probably a few years even just to build - plus wages for everyone else, once it's ready for them."
Adonai ducked out of Cindy's way, then turned to follow her again as she headed for the door.

Donovan nodded at that, "Good thing I brought the gold from the last adventure," he murmured.
It wasn't just a pouch like last time, it was a fricken sack. Even Gaia, which went by a gold system never had anything like that. Then again Gaia was far different.

Cindy opened the door and stuck her head out, smiling brightly to see that Donovan was more or less in one piece. She stepped out, brushing the imaginary dust off the pants before waving back at Donovan.

Adonai was following so close behind Cindy that when she stopped he ran into the backs of her legs and bounced back, falling flat on the floor with a soft, "Oof!"
Ulani spotted Cindy in the doorway and stepped slightly to the side so that Donovan would be able to see her as well.

Donovan blinked.... he twitched and studied her carefully looking at her new height and form. She had obviously bloomed in the short period of time.
He opened his mouth and then closed it again, considering what he should be saying.

Cindy giggled as she stepped fully out and wangle her fingers at Donovan sheepishly.
"Surprise!" she turned.

Ulani smiled and turned back to Donovan. "We ... er ... had a bit of an adventure," she told him with amusement. Adonai slipped out of the house behind Cindy and ran to Ulani, jumping up so that she caught him and held him on one hip.

Donovan tilted his head, not really sure what to make of it, he was use to thinking of Cindy as an adult despite her lack of height and her child like body, but this was just odd. Seeing her on the verge of womanhood even though he knew... he knew! That she was an adult.
"How can Kara do this day in and day out?" he finally muttered to himself.

He was surprised, in his own deadpanned sort of way.
"Then you'll be used to it."

"I would have thought you'd be used to it by now," Ulani commented dryly. "Do you have your things, Cindy? I think your father wanted to go home right away ..."
Adonai blinked. "Cinee go bye?" he asked, his tone hurt, as if he were taking it personally.

"I have them in my bag, I just need to gather up a few more things," Cindy replied sofly, "So now?"
Not that she minded though she felt sorry for Adonai. Since it would be a very long time before she would come back.

"Yes," Donovan replied, "Now would be good," he glanced at Adonai, probably by the time they came back he would be quite old he thought, "She'll come back. Don't know when, but she will."
Who knew, Cindy did have some education in first aid, and if she would like to learn more why not?

Adonai pouted and put his head on Ulani's shoulder, then stuck one finger in his mouth and hooked it over his lip.
"It's too bad Aliya isn't around," Ulani murmured, "I'm sure she would have liked to say goodbye. But who knows where she could be?" She shrugged.
Aliya had disappeared even before breakfast that morning, and hadn't told anyone where she was going or when she might be back.

"Okay..." Cindy replied before hurrying back into the house to gather up her things.
The samples she had collected along with her notebook and the like. Shoving them into her bag (since she didn't have to worry about crowding) before heading back out.

Donovan shrugged, he hadn't see Aliya coming in, but he was sure the girl was around.
"Maybe exploring, maybe having an adventure," he commented recalling that's what Feng liked to do often enough.
