Yuki chuckled just lightly despite himself at Neko's reply, though in silence he wondered just how serious the statement was supposed to be. Once on flat ground again, he barely had time to let out a relieved sigh before Neko had begun moving faster. This left Yuki to stumble on occasion, but he did his best to keep up. "Hey man, I think you're forgetting something." He half whined, "You're going too fast. This doesn't help." However, his complaints fell on deaf ears, and he was only able to deal with it or be dragged.
"I don't want those two to find her." Yuki protested, "Or anyone like those two..." He tried to cast a glance over his shoulder, but the pub was mostly out of view due to their distance and the crowd in between. Then, they were moving in between the buildings, and of all places this is where Neko wanted to linger. Yuki didn't find this area quite so safe, but it wasn't like he could easily go elsewhere on his own. If there was one thing he knew about Neko, it was that he was usually firm in his decisions, and Yuki wouldn't be able to change his mind. With a groan, he lowered himself from Neko's grasp, bracing himself against the stone wall in order to try and make his descent to the ground a little more coordinated than just falling on his a**. He pretty much managed to do just that anyhow, and he surpressed another growl.
"That b*****d didn't fight fair..." He grumbled, massaging his shins with a grimace. "I hope I see him again. Soon." He quickly added, "When I can move. He'll find out that I'm not so easy to throw around when I'm not half blind and drunk..." The shock of the entire ordeal had him nearly sober at this point, though in reality he wished he wasn't. Maybe being plastered would have helped him ignore the pain. His legs seemed the worst off when it came to that, partially because his back had burned and throbbed to the point that it was almost numb to the pain.

Neko was content enough to listen to his friend banter on about how he hoped he would see that man again to pay him back. Stifling a chuckle, Neko only shook his head as he undid the bag from his belt and began to sift through it for what he needed. If Yuki ever did meet that man again he would more than likely get his a** handed to him…..again. “You realize that man was a dragon, right? Generally a big creature, they eat things like you and me.” The words left his mouth in a calm conversation like tone, but that really didn’t help dumb down their meaning any.
Having found the first thing he need, Neko pulled out a small folded up piece of cloth. Unraveling it revealed that it contained small bits of willow bark wrapped up crystallized ginger to hide the flavor of the wood. Holding out a piece to Yuki he explained. “Chew on this it will help with the pain.” Putting the rest away Neko drew out a small flask from his bag setting it aside and went to work on Yuki’s arm as it was the first thing available to him. It was a fairly clean cut but the wound was pretty deep it would need to be disinfected and stitched in a few places.
“This is going to hurt a little,” Neko paused a moment, rethinking. “Or a lot, we’ll see.” Holding Yuki’s arm firmly, Neko undid the cap on the flask one handed and generously poured the alcohol on the wound to disinfect it. Initially it would burn quite a bit but the pain would slowly subside and the area would be numb. Letting go of Yuki’s arm, Neko reached into his bag again and produced a curved needle and thick thread which he readied for use by pouring alcohol over it as well. “Now don’t move.” Holding Yuki’s arm steady with his left hand, Neko eased the needle into the flesh around the wound with his right hand. With the area being numb, Yuki wouldn’t feel much but there would still be tiny pricks of pain as Neko made his way up his arm. Ten stitches later and the wound was closed and the bleeding was coming to a stop. Cleaning up the blood Neko wrapped up Yuki’s arm with the little bit of gauze that he had and moved on to his back.
At first glance, the damage done to Yuki’s back made Neko flinch and make a slightly concerned looking face. Luckily he was behind Yuki so he wouldn’t be able to see his reaction. On top of Yuki’s shirt being completely tattered, his back was soaked in oil and blood with bits of wood and glass jutting out here and there. Luckily the coal oil from the lamp was slowing the flow of blood from the wounds but was probably not helping much with the pain. “Well,” Neko grimaced trying to think how this would work. “I’m going to need you to take your shirt off…. as carefully as possible. Unless you want me to just cut it off of you. It doesn’t look like a simple mending is going to fix it anyway.”

Daelik returned with the drinks, and set each in front of the appropriate person. Had the two new people (not just people...females) not shown up before he had brought the drinks, he probably would have been dodging around Hitsu and Poke to see if there were places in their outfits that showed off skin he hadn't seen up to this point. As it was, he now gave his full attention to Riyo and Mitsu. Ogling. Peering. Tainting their purity with his lascivious eyes. Man he loved being a pervert, because tonight Kyo had brought in the mother lode.
"And what can I get you ladies to drink?" he said with his smoothest tone before turning to Kyo. "I expect you to pay for the drinks, but the five fishes...dishes(?) are on the house... I haven't seen this many beautiful lasses since my family reunion..." He whispered.
Kyo's eyes widened in half terror at Daelik's words. Rather than respond to his disturbing comment, he faced Hitsu. "It's no problem," Kyo said. "Having my father's last name tends to get me... special treatment." There was a slight hint of sarcasm at the last of that sentence.
It was about that time that Kyo noticed that Rei Ichi had begun to garner some attention despite the fact that it was completely unmoving, save for a slight wavering around the edges. He hadn't planned on using the wolf for anything more than a pack mule, but then he hadn't expected to meet new people here either. "Rei Ichi, respond affectionately to our guests." He commanded. The wolf yipped and shimmered as it recieved its instruction. Rei Ichi moved to Riyo and began to nuzzle against her leg.

Hitsu smiled as the two approached, but quickly was reminded that they weren't quite... Accustomed to civilization. Well, for Riyo it was to be expected, but Mitsu's reaction surprised her a little. "Over here, Mitsu." She directed gently, placing a hand on the chair alongside her at the table. "Sit up here in the chair, not on the floor. The boys aren't here to torment you this time, don't be afraid." While Mitsu's attention seemed to be on her, she'd given the instruction. However, the girl seemed intrigued by Kyo's animal companion. It wasn't until then that Hitsu really took much notice of it, and it was little more than a brief glance. It hadn't seemed any threat, so why worry? When Mitsu moved back toward her, Hitsu patted her shoulder a bit to try and get her attention, gesturing toward the chair again. "Why not come up here and sit?"
She cast a glance across the table at Riyo, and couldn't help but grin. Sure, it might have been odd for someone to be so entertained by a table, but it was amusing to see her trying to figure all of these things out. "Table." She said clearly to Riyo, patting the top of it gently. Then, Riyo's attention traveled toward Kyo's wolf, and Hitsu's turned to Daelik as he returned with their drinks. "Thank you." She said quietly as her cup was set in front of her, then watched him a few moments. Was it normal for people to stare so much around here? This one seemed to be doing it a lot. A lean toward Kyo as he spoke, though her attention still seemed centered on Daelik as she responded only with a nod to Kyo. She pointed toward the barkeep, though she tried to keep such a gesture out of view as not to seem rude should he look toward her. "Why does he keep staring at everyone like that? It's... Strange." It was the look in his eyes, more than the action itself, that had her wondering. She would have known, perhaps unfortunately, had she not been talking to Mitsu when Daelik had been whispering to Kyo. Though her ears were quite sensitive, Hitsu never was great at paying attention to more than one thing at a time.
-----
Elsewhere, Yuki could only huff at Neko's response. "I don't care what he was..." He muttered, though could find no words to try and convince his friend that he would stand a chance of not getting his rear kicked the second time around. At least next time he'd have his usual advantages, or at least he could hope. Yuki removed the material around his forearm, or what was left holding it there, and set it aside. As Neko handed him the willow bark, he wrinkled his nose but took it anyway and placed it into his mouth. The look on his face suggested that the ginger didn't really make the taste any better, but he continued to chew in hopes that it would at least have the effect desired.
Yuki cast a worrisome glance at Neko, especially as he re-thought just how to describe what he might feel. "What is-" Just as quickly as he could begin to ask, Neko had started to pour. Well, that answered his question for certain, and Yuki clenched his jaw against the urge to shout. Alcohol had hurt enough on little cuts and scratches, let alone something as deep as this. It felt like an eternity that it burned to Yuki, and the strong scent of the alcohol made his nose and eyes burn. Well, that's what he'd blame if Neko saw him tearing up, anyway.
Once the intense burning had subsided, Yuki seemed to breathe again, apparently holding it in for those several seconds that he was trying not to make a sound. He seemed a lot more tolerant of the stitching, mostly thanks to the numbing of the area due to the alcohol. The process itself just seemed to take too long, and if anything it just made him even more impatient. "Do they have to be so close together?" He actually groaned, when Neko was only halfway through. He wanted to get out of here, find Hitsu and leave, and the fact that he'd likely still need help balancing for a bit didn't seem to cross his mind.
The pain of Yuki's back had dulled quite some time ago, likely that he'd grown used to the burning, or the area had generally grown numb to it after so long. Though, most likely the discomfort would introduce itself again once the wounds were messed with. "I'll take it off." He replied, "Believe me, if Hitsu doesn't see it for herself she'll never let me hear the end of it." As he went about removing it, he imitated Hitsu in a high mock-voice; "'How do you know I couldn't mend it if you left it out in the forest? What a waste of a perfectly good garment... You know, you could have worn it with a hole in it, I'm sure it didn't look that bad...'" Once he'd gotten the shirt off, he shook it free of what glass was stuck to the material and tossed it on top of his other garment. He then decided he might as well remove the one for the opposite wrist, since there wasn't much sense in keeping it there when the other was gone. It would have looked out of place anyway. A handful of small scars had been hidden underneath it, but they were nothing compared to what he'd have from the injury Neko had just stitched up. Well, at least he'd covered it. Yuki didn't want to think about how much worse it would be if Hitsu could see it.

Neko only rolled his eyes at his friend as he waited for him to take his shirt off, though what he was saying wasn’t far from the truth. He still wasn’t sure that either of them would be free of a good scolding when they found Hitsu again. Mentally Neko started to list the things that Hitsu might scold them over and already put counter measures into action in his mind. It wasn’t too hard to weasel out of being scolded but you still had to plan ahead.
Back to reality, Neko started to access the damage done to Yuki’s back. It didn’t look any better, in fact, it looked worse now with the shirt gone. “Hmmm…” Was the only thing that passed through Neko’s lips as he tried to think of the best way to go about ridding the debris from Yuki’s wounds. “You may want to put that stick your chewing on…. Between your teeth.” He didn’t elaborate on why but he had a feeling a few of the shards of glass were going to be rather painful to remove and hopefully that way Yuki wouldn’t break his teeth. Kneeling down behind Yuki, Neko went to work and started to remove the smaller fragments, using a blade where needed to pry some of them loose. Over all the smaller shards wouldn’t flare up too much pain but Neko was down to two larger chucks and a decent sized piece of wood jutting out of Yuki’s shoulder blade. “Brace yourself, on three.” He took hold of the piece of wood first, hoping it wouldn’t splinter too much as he pulled it out. “One.” Without hesitation and without continuing on, Neko jerked the wood out of Yuki’s back. It came out fairly easily but left a decent sized gaping wound.
------
Looking back up at Hitsu, Mitsu followed her gesture again to the chair beside her. Curiously she made her way over to it, sniffing it. Looking at the others she saw that they were sitting in them so standing to her feet she pulled the chair out from under the table and sat on it. It was a little odd, and slightly uncomfortable. Why would people sit on these?
Turning her attention to Daelik, Mitsu tilted her head, “Drink?” That word seemed familiar, but she had never ‘ordered’ a drink before so she wasn’t sure how to go about getting it. “Yes, I’ll have a drink. Please.” She added quietly. That really didn’t answer the question but hopefully the man would know what to bring her, the orderlies at the lab always knew what to bring.

"interesting..." poke mumbled as she sipped on the drink daelik had supplied him. She wasn't sure what to make of the wolf that was currently nuzzeling up to riyo, besides the fact it was very obedient and didn't look like most other wolves. This was adding to the suspisions that she was having about kyo.
The whispering didn't escape pokes ears. While she didn't have better then adverage hearing, she wasn't seated so far away that she couldn't heard what he said. She tried not to dwell on any hidden innuendo's in that message, and instead turned to face kyo to try and make some conversation. "So, what do you...do for a living?" she asked after kyo responded to hitsu's question.

Having heard Hitsu's question, Kyo nearly fell out of his chair laughing. Once he had settled down to fits of giggling, he attempted to answer. "Daelik is... writing his dissertation on the female anatomy?" He started giggling again. "Actually, I believe he thinks the ladies sitting at this table are particularly attractive. Had I less self control, I can't say that I wouldn't do the same." Kyo smirked.
"Oh God, are you flirting?" Many-as-One tittered. Soon, he felt Kyo start to press him out of his mind again. "I hope you have better lines than that if you're trying to get her to..." And he was gone, for now. Kyo was having a hard enough time entertaining his guests (in the closest imitation of a normal human being as he could manage) without him mocking his attempts at normality in his head.
When Poke asked him a question, Kyo had to think for a moment. He really hadn't had much of a career since..."I, uhm, I guess you could call me a freelance swordsman...mage....guy. Work has been kinda slow lately. Not too many people need professional escorts since anyone with a sword and a spell scroll considers themself a 'professional'..." He stopped himself, not wanting to rant. "So, what brings you here?"

Riyo had continued to look around for a moment when she heard a mans voice close to her. She looked up at Daelik and blinked. Why was he.... Staring at her. "N-nyu?" She asked, staring right back at him. Though, as he kept staring, fear began to show in her eyes. Her ears went back against her head.
A greusome image flashed through her memory banks for a split second, then disappeared before she even got a chance to make out the contorted figures. Why such an image had chosen to pop up at this time was beyond her, but it did indeed scare the wits out of her.
She almost jumped out of her seat as she felt something rubbing against her leg, quickly she pulled up both of her legs into the chair and hugged them tightly. After a second, she looked down to see what it was. That wolf.. She didn't change the way she had been sitting after she saw it, she kept her legs close to her. "Nyuu.." She cried out and hid her face. She didn't want to be here anymore.

Hitsu chuckled lightly at Mitsu's response to Daelik, shaking her head a bit. "He wants to know what you'd like to drink, Mitsu. What do you want him to bring you?"
Then, Kyo was laughing himself, which drew her attention back to him with a bit of a startled expression. She wasn't aware that her question was so funny. When he gave his answer, Hitsu seemed to finally catch on. She gave a bit of a blush, and suddenly decided that she'd be a lot more comfortable if this barkeep wasn't present. Apparently seeing as Kyo wasn't gawking at them, Hitsu wasn't bothered by him. Not yet, anyway.
As though her own discomfort wasn't enough, Hitsu has looked up to Daelik again to see him staring at Riyo. Riyo, clearly, wasn't enjoying it. "E-excuse me, Sir..." Hitsu said quietly, raising a hand to try and draw his attention away. "Can you please stop staring at her? She's not really used to being around a lot of people..." She frowned a bit, glancing over to Kyo, hoping he would assist in talking the man into leaving them be. They seemed to know each other pretty well, after all. Friends respected the wishes of other friends, right?
-----
With some discomfort, Yuki drew his knees up close to his chest, leaning against them for support and to give Neko easier access to his back. Neko's initial hesitation didn't help Yuki feel better, and the following instruction only made it more worrisome. He quickly did as he was told, shifting the bark between his back teeth on one side. At first it wasn't so bad, as Neko was picking out smaller pieces without trouble. He'd flinch on occasion, typically when a shard was being particularly stubborn and had to be pried free. "Fink 'ou c'n be a ikkle nicer 'bout it?" He asked, between clenched teeth.
Little twinges of pain quickly paled in comparison, as Neko instructed him to brace himself on three. Yuki was ready to do just that, until Neko decided it would be a good idea to skip the other two numbers. Yuki drew in a deep breath as he jerked, and it was likely a good thing he had the bark between his teeth or else it probably would have ended up in his throat. He spat it out, apparently wanting to be heard loud and clear. "DID YOU FORGET HOW TO COUNT TO THREE!?" Sarcasm, of course. His volume lowered, but he didn't sound any less irritated. "For ******** sake! Are you taking my ribs now!?"

Calmly throwing the bit of wood to the side, Neko smirked. “Don’t be such a baby about it. If you would have clenched up on three it would have only made it worse.” Patting Yuki’s shoulder he continued. “But never fear we can try again. You have two more large shards of glass embedded in your back that will be loads of fun. Maybe this time I will make it to three.” He couldn’t hide his sarcastic tone, his demon side was enjoying this a little to much to his own disappointment.

"Freelance swordsman eh? I must confess I haven't seen many of those around" poke responded between sips of her drink. When asked what she did, it took her a few seconds to think about it. "well, I've been traveling from town to town, seeing different people, eating different foods and learning stuff....well trying to. Then I...stumbled into these people here" She couldn't think of a better word to describe her encounter. "And I stuck around, after finding out they were heading into town. I wanted to make sure they didn't get into trouble."
She was startled by a sudden noise, and turned to see riyo was hiding behind her hands, almost crying. "wha...riyo, whats wrong?" Feeling confused, and a little concerned, she looked behind to see the wolf was right next to her, and her legs were folded up on the seat. "did the wolf bite you?" she asked. She then saw that the bar tender was standing behind riyo as well. and perving. And it also appeared that hitsu was enlightened about this mans "prying".
While hitsu had asked him to stop staring, she decided to try and occupy him with something much more important. "And, do you think you could go see if our meals were ready" she added after hitsu and kyo, also failing to keep the annoyed tone out of her voice. It was one thing to perve, another thing to do it with people that were generaly frightened.

"Oh no..." Kyo said with a tone of genuine regret. "Rei Ichi, Amendment: Disregard your last command and come here." The wolf let out an annoyed whine and shimmered before moving to where it was previously. "I'm sorry...I didn't mean to scare you." He said as he began to pet the wolf absently. Even though he knew it wasn't much more than a programmed wind-up toy, the gesture wasn't completely empty. "Ichi doesn't hurt people." He left off the end of that sentence, 'unless I order him to.'
"Oh, my apologies. It's just that we're fresh out of 'Nyuu'. I'll see what I can come up with, though..." Daelik then turned and went into the kitchen. He returned shortly with a tray of drinks and a tray of food. He set the trays on a nearby table and placed a plate of fish in front of each person. Grinning at Kyo, he then placed the drink tray halfway between Riyo and Mitsu. It had about ten different kinds of alchoholic beverages on it, and two glasses of water. These he placed in front of Riyo and Mitsu proper, the rest he left on the tray between them. He didn't know what either of them really wanted, so he gave them a bit of everything seeing as how Kyo was paying for it anyhow. He laughed when Kyo gave him the stink eye. On his way back to the kitchen he exclaimed "Entrepeneurship Hoooooooooooooo!", stretching the last syllable until he had went through the kitchen door. Kyo chuckled. Daelik may have given Kyo his meal for free, but that didn't mean he wasn't going to pay for it.

Oh, Riyo definitely came to when she smelled food close by. But not just any kind of food... This smelled... Delicious. Mouth watering. But then again, she was used to eating her food raw. Her legs quickly returned to the ground so she could see what had been put in front of her. What.. What was this? It smelled so good! It looked a little like fish... But smelled 10 times better. A trickle of drool leeked out of her mouth. "Nyuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu~" She said, half amazed.
Too bad no one had explained to her how eating at a table worked, because as far as etequitte went, she had none. Without even a second thought, she picked up the fish and took a big bite of it, her tail beginning to wag joyfully. Everything up until now had been forgotten. All she cared about was the fish.

Once Daelik came back with the drinks, Mitsu looked at them curiously. Some of them had strange colors and an odd smell. Ignoring her food for the moment she went to investigate pulling two out of the ten drinks toward her. One had a slightly fruity smell but Mitsu couldn’t place it and the other had a smell that Mitsu really couldn’t describe at all. Taking more interest in the fruity smelling one, Mitsu put the other glass back and sniffed at the drink trying to decide what was in it.
It only took a short moment for her mind settled on trying it instead of determining what was in it. So tipping the glass back Mitsu took her first big gulp of the drink, taking down nearly half of it at once, and nearly choked when the alcohol hit her throat. Swallowing hard Mitsu pushed the drink aside sticking out her tongue in a disgusted manner. She had found something for once that she didn’t like. It had tasted good at first but the burning sensation she could do without.
The alcohol didn’t seem to be effecting Mitsu at the moment as she focused her attention back on her plate of food. When she reached for the fish, however, she noticed she was having a hard time trying to grab it. Her vision was out of focus and the longer she tried to focus on and grab hold of the fish on the plate, the more her head started to hurt. Her body was metabolizing the alcohol much faster than it needed to so the effects of drunkenness were almost instant.

Yuki growled to Neko's reply, "You think you're funny... Sooner or later you'll be the one hurting, and I'll remember this." Though, he knew that Neko was right; Had he gone tense, it probably would have caused more pain and damage. Not that he would have noticeably agreed with him, of course not. Instead, he only continued to lean forward, doing he best to keep his muscles relaxed. "Just make it quick, one after the other. Get it over with, already."
-----
Hitsu offered her thanks when her plate was set down in front of her, and had reached for her knife and fork. Apparently, everyone else didn't have that idea. She grimaced a little at Riyo, "Riyo, with these." Should Riyo draw her attention away, which Hitsu was a bit doubtful on, she'd hold up her utensils, gesturing with them to suggest exactly how they were to be used. Knife made a sawing motion, fork jabbed into fish. Just as soon as she'd produced a small portion of the meat on the end of her fork, Hitsu heard Mitsu sputtering next to her and quickly glanced over.
"I think this one would be better.." Hitsu suggested gently, reaching out for one of the glasses of water. She hoped it was water. Inwardly wishing to scold Daelik for bringing alcohol to people who had no idea what that might have been, she decided best to test a small sip of the drink before confirming that it was indeed only water. Setting that glass alongside Mitsu's plate, she did the same with the other glass that held the clear fluid. Good, that was water too. She put that one down for Riyo before making a statement for any at the table to hear. "Bringing them alcohol wasn't a smart idea, what would have possessed him to do such a thing?"
She settled back down in her seat, only to glance over to Mitsu and notice that she was already showing the side effects of the drink. She sighed softly, her frustration not at all with Mitsu, and gently put one hand to either of her wrists to direct her to the fish. At this point, she figured if Daelik had a problem with improper eating manners, she'd have to address a few things about him. Hopefully once Mitsu had some food in her stomach, the alcohol wouldn't have so much of an effect. Then, she turned attention back to her own food. It would be good to eat it before it got cold, after all.
