Sure, why not?
Yes, I understand that people putting things off can be completely dangerous, but I think that's more when you're putting off getting a marble-like lump in your body checked out, or why you're throwing up blood. Being a bit weak and easily sick all your life? Probably nothing but genes I inherited from my mom. (she's not as bad as me, but does have some of the same things going on) Not to mention I'm only related to one person who's ever had cancer, and he got it when he was quite old.
No, my school doesn't have anything like that. They have a clinic there that charges about $50 for a visit, so I can use that in an emergency. But you also gotta remember that men overall don't live as long as women. Yes, we have an increased chance of breast cancer, but that's not necessarily fatal, and men just seem to end up giving out sooner anyway. XD Yay ovaries! Oh, but I think we all actually have the same chances of dying, regardless of gender. 100%
Yes.

Ah but Cancer rates are increasing, love us humans are are ability to make everything we touch turn to death! Haha, but yea I'm sure you're fine, it's just weird that your school has nothing. Maybe it's just CA law that mandates we have all this crap. I guess it's good, I've had a lot of friends who've really made use of school services.

As for men and women, I think those statistics will be seen to change very soon. That men live longer than women thing is still riding off a time period where women mainly did not work and stayed home. I'm not saying life was easier for women, but it was a lot less stressful. Take increased environmental irritants as well. Women used to live longer then men, but research is starting to show this isn't going to hold true much longer. Again most likely for reasons stated.

As for chances, I dunno...I think there is a 99% chance that I'll never die. Even if I die, you'll never disprove that statistic. ^_~

I wore my trench coat to work at a pool tonight, woot! razz

Oh, fail humans are fail. XP Hopefully means of fighting various cancers will improve quicker than cancer rates are going up. It's probably more of a California thing; never heard of anything like that anywhere else, and it makes sense that your more liberal state would have that kind of thing than my more conservative state. I wish my school did have that kind of thing though; I'd feel a lot less paranoid about my health.
Ah, I see. Bah, too bad. I was looking forward to outliving all my male friends. I may still do so anyway though, considering most of them are older than me, and many of them smoke.
Curse the impossibility of proving something that is so obviously false!
Hope you didn't sink. o.o

Indeed they are, and even if they do - which they might - new things will come along, they always do. From plagues to the autoimmune to cancer - it's always something. And aside from all that, we also have our nice every changing sexually transmitted diseases - I mean you have to realize those aren't new either. Back in the day syphilis was the hot raging death sentence. We can now not die from that, but hey, now we've got AIDs. And you can't cure herpes! Life WILL keep trying to kill us, the question you've got to ask, what is the absolute worst way to die?

Yea, although my friends in MI, DC and WA have to deal with that too....although I think those are all blue states as well. Well, DC isn't a state exactly - but ya know, it's special. Idk, I mean health is usually federally regulated (I'm making the assumption here you aren't at a private school), but yes I guess there are some variances from state to state. Insurance isn't mandated at the federal level, so I guess that would be a state thing. I'm not entirely sure it's about liberal though. More about colleges preferring their students to stay alive and pay tuition. Dead students are terrible at keeping up with their bills. xd

Yea, I mean there are many many factors, so you still totally might. Gender is just getting to be less of a factor. So yea, don't smoke or drink (at least not in excess), eat healthy, exercise regularly, try to keep the stress levels down - and assuming you don't get hit by a bus *knock on wood*, you should be good to go.

I actually don't want to outlive anybody. I dealt with my first real death (I did have a few others, but this was the first "my age" - actually a couple of years younger, tragedy type death) last summer. I did not fair well, not at all. I still can't get over it, and there are people I'm much much closer to, I mean I can't even think about how I'd handle losing one of them. So yea - while I don't particularly want to smoke, sit around and get fat, and eat lard, I don't want to outlive most of my friends. Selfish, but I'd rather they go to my funeral, then have to mourn them. Mourning is hard. And I don't even want to imagine how it will get less painful over time. As hard as it is, I don't want it to hurt less. That would be awful. I suppose I'll just have to try to stress myself out a lot (thus far I do rather well there ~_~) and hope that I manage to beat my smoking/heavy drinking/grease chewing buds that way.

Well, at least herpes isn't deadly. XD But yeah, new stuff always comes up. I wonder if we'll start becoming faster at challenging all of the new stuff though.
Hmm, guess Arizona just fails then. They don't care if their students die. Just like they don't care if their residents are profiled.
Haha, as long as I don't die before age sixty I think I'll be happy, though I would prefer to die around maybe age eight-five or so. Not too young, but not super old where it's difficult to do anything.
I think that it gets easier to handle death as you get older. Like once you're around that age where death is more common among your peers, it at least seems like less of a shock, and you also know that you have less of a life to live without those people. So I think I could be fine having friends die in older age. It would be hard, but it wouldn't be devastating like I think it would be now. Karma got held up with a gun the other day at work, and just the thought of that scared the hell out of me, the possibility of losing her. I'm just so glad the guy only wanted to take the money and run. But either way, as long as I don't end up super old and all alone with all of my other friends dead, I think I'll be happy.

True, but other things are. I doubt it, we are idiots. I mean we spend billions working on pills to make dicks hard. Somehow I don't think we'll ever be smart enough to understand "priority" in relation to medicine. ~_~

Yea, I don't care how old I am when I die, as long as I'm still in control of all my faculties when I do. If I'm 115 but can run around and skip and dance and take care of myself then I'll be fine. I hope I don't look like the crypt keeper though, that would be a sadness too.

And yikes, poor Karma!! That's so scary, I'm glad she's ok. Yea, losing people is the worst part of growing up.

Haha, oh, Viagra. XD How I despise that medicine.
Hmm, yeah, if by some miracle I'm still healthy and not senile past the age of 100, I wouldn't mind that.
I know. ;_;
PostPosted: Tue May 25, 2010 10:25 pm

I do too! Nature, any deity you might believe in, etc, are all saying YOU ARE NOT TO HAVE SEX!! LISTEN TO THEM! Besides WAY more men do it then actually have any sort of severe need. It's superfluous luxury medication, that makes it more and more difficult to ever perform naturally. I do not fan hokum medicines, and that's pretty damn close to what this is.

Oh yea, mental capacities being in tact is a big one. I mean I wouldn't want to be too feeble, but as long as I can take enjoyment out of reading and writing (and can at the very least feed myself/take care of my own restroom needs) I'll want to go on I suppose.

Ahaha, well I don't necessarily believe that you should listen to nature if it's telling you not to have sex, but what I don't like about Viagra is how it's the 'easy' way out. Like most guys who take it because they actually can't get it up probably can't for mental reasons more than anything. They need to figure out the reason causing their dysfunction, not just take a miracle drug that forces it up. That's not stopping the problem; it's just forcing you past the problem temporarily.
Oh, that's a big one for me: I would need to be able to dress myself and use the restroom myself. I have a severe need for privacy, and I don't see that changing as I get older.
PostPosted: Thu May 27, 2010 4:53 pm

Oh I know I was full on kidding about that...mostly. I can't say I really wanna imagine 80 year old men getting it on. But yea that was my overly sarcastic way of saying that yes, many more people take it then need it. And then it makes them need it more. It's like a cigarette for your willy.

For me it's not a privacy thing it's just an eww I don't want people dealing with my mess. I totally get the everyone has bodily functions thing, but that doesn't make me anymore comfortable about it. I wouldn't mind being dressed though. I'm a pretty good doll. xd

Haha, yeah, I pretty much feel Viagra should be a prescription thing. Like your doctor should investigate the problem first, then decide if it actually *is* the only thing that can help your problem. But gah, the cigarette thing... XP Reminded me of this kid who was masturbating with his urethra and incense... well, he thought it would be hot to light the incense, but then fell asleep... he was drunk at the time, so that at least makes it a little less retarded I guess, but let's just say he ended up needing surgery. *shivers*
Well yeah, definitely wouldn't want people dealing with my mess either, though that's on top of privacy. XD
PostPosted: Thu May 27, 2010 11:30 pm

Ahh but see that's the problem, insurance companies. See even if they wanted to cover doctor investigation, they still wouldn't want to finance any sort of treatment that is not a pill, like say, therapy. Or whatever. So in the end they'll still have Viagra, it's just now they'll have a doctors note which seems even more pathetic.

THAT MAKES IT MORE RETARDED!! MORE!!! Nothing gets to have it's retardation lessened by the excuse of drunkenness!!! But ah I am laughing now, that's just creepy.

I guess when I'm old and saggy...ewww...maybe I'd care a bit more about privacy. I guess I wouldn't have gone skinny dipping with my coworkers last summer though if I was body shy now though... xd

Yeah, I can still dream of a better system though, can't I? XD
Hahaha, I actually found that story off a list of the most retarded things people have done masturbating. It was quite amusing, and made me wonder how people can be so dumb.
Only been skinny-dipping once, and that was when I was pretty young, so it was less awkward at that age, plus it was with my sister and two best friends that we already changed in front of anyway. That's about the furthest I'll go in that respect. XD

Haha, dream away. I wish I could be that optimistic. Glass you are so half empty. And broken and jagged too!

Haha, ok I thought you were saying you actually knew a guy, I mean wow! What kind of friends do you have?!? Yea, I've found some pretty retarded things out there.

In theory it's not something I'd care to do, in practice though it feels amazing. So I guess as long as it's with friends, people I like, I'd be pretty open to it. But hey I'm a swimmer, the art of "deck change" pretty much killed most of my modesty long ago.

*loves her half-full glass*
Nah, if I had a friend that retarded, I would probably disown him. XD
Speaking of which, the other day my family was playing Apples to Apples, and I said that if someone picked like... I don't remember what the cards were, but something that was ridiculous. Like saying Nazi Germany was delicious or something like that, I said jokingly, "If any of you think those cards go together, I'm disowning you as a family." and then my sister said, "You already have." I was like scream b***h please! Er... in my head. XD;; Damn she pisses me off sometimes.
Yeah, I was surprised by how nice skinny dipping felt, though probably won't be doing it again. XD;;
