"Ok, well, see if you can make me a..." She thought for a few minutes. "... incendinary grenade!" Maddy handed Jack some chemicals and pushed him into a nearby closet. "The closet is merely an extra precaution! We don't want you accidently killing everyone!"

Jack came out a few minutes later with a small round red marble looking thing. "Like this?"

Maddy took the little bomb and examined. "Nice. Now let's go up top and see how well it works. You can do the honors." She handed the bomb back to Jack and teleported the both of them up to the beach. She coughed slightly afterwards, but it was nothing. "Go on." xD

Jack threw the ball about ten feet away into the sand. It beeped and than...nothing. "Man..." He moaned.

"Hmm..." Maddy picked up the bomb and examined it again. "Hmm... I believe there's a chemical inbalance. Try again." She gave the bomb back to him.

Jack rubbed it and looked at Maddy. He threw it over his shoulder and heard a woosh. "HOLY CRAP!"

"There ya go. Next up, let's try flash bombs." She took a little white sphere from her pocket and struck it against the ground. It produced a bright white flash and a tiny bit of heat. She took more chemicals from her backpack. "You have to get the chemical balance right, otherwise it'll be more heat energy than light." Maddy handed the chemicals to Jack. "Now, correctly identify which chemicals would be used in a flash bomb and make something that at least produces a bit of light. It don't need to be perfect."

A soft smile came to her lips as she felt Cody wrap his arms around her, his very presence enough to calm her down considerably. His chin resting on her shoulder, a soft blush on her cheeks, she was glad that she couldn't really see her from the front.
"Thanks. I'm feeling a little better."

"If you take deep breaths and look ahead or at me or whatever the whole time, it'll be so much easier," he smiled, almost knowing she couldn't see it. He was so happy to be with her. To have her around, knowing that he was starting off with a clean slate and nothing had ever happened to compromise anything the two could possibly have in the future. Now the big question comes... he though to himself, Do I love her? Is that even possible after what happened with Sammy? Is it just a temporary feeling or even a confusion? If something does happen between us, will I do something to mess it up? There were so many questions running through his mind, and sadly enough, the answer to most of them were yes. All he could do was hope that good things came to those who wait.

"You mean closing your eyes isn't a good idea," she called over the rushing wind, laughing slightly as she decided to give it a shot, opening her eyes which had been tightly closed the moment they started into the air. One eyelid slowly lifted, followed by the other as she looked straight ahead, having to resist the urge to look down and see how high up they were. She found that a little funny...as scared as she was of heights, her first inclination was to always look down.
"Yea...yea, ok, this isn't so bad," she said, her voice wavering slightly, though she was considerably more relaxed than before.
