Dominic swung back to watch the chasers embark on the keepers goal posts. Eretria swept forward and shot it through; he barely thought to remember to check if his last shot had landed. Rick missed and the Slytherin's were cheering. While the chasers played their game of keep-away, he flew close to their formations. Defensive curves and rotations were designed to make him another obstacle for steals whenever his teammates had their hands on the ball. Both arms ached, he could feel the bruises blossoming under his gear, and his side burned. Soon enough, the chasers were up to goal posts again, but missed and then Ravenclaw was in possession of the quaffle. At long last, a bludger was spiralling down right for him. Dominic did the only thing he could do, he dropped down under his broom! One hand and a hooked leg was all that held him in place, but the bludger missed, the rush of wind touched so close to him though, it could have knocked him out for sure. He pulled himself back upright and launched headfirst for that same bludger and aimed it straight down for Rufus.

In the end everything collides... My childhood spat back out the monster that you see...Chance missed the Bludger and watched it slam into Shina. He felt bad, kinda. Well, he knew how much those things hurt and it was hard to focus on something when you were in that kind of pain. Shina needed to focus more than anyone out here. The teen heard another Bludger slam against the hard wood of a bat, and turned to see one hurtling towards Rufus like a meteor. Well, that wasn't good. Seeing as his Captain was elsewhere, Rufus was his team's most important Chaser. He had to protect him. Chance shot towards the other Eagle, swinging his bat in attempts to block the shot. He took aim at Dominic. If he could get the Slytherin Vice Captain out of the game, then they might have a chance at winning.

He wasn't about to let the chaser ruin this game for him. Desperately, he dove in for a steal. He swooped in over her left flank, reaching down for the Quaffle. His arm snapped out and he reached for the familiar ball.

Dominic froze. It was one of those slow motion moments where he heard the crack of a bat echoing his own, and then the blur of blue against sable and bronze uniforms. He couldn't even tell if it was Chance or Night that had rebounded his bludger back onto him. He tried to cut right, but he wasn't fast enough and it struck his shoulder blade and propelled him out of his broom and into the misty field. The sound of wind rushed past his ears, it screamed. He didn't know who had caught him mid air with enchantments, but he knew he was being rushed away to the infirmary. Great.

  ♂First Year♂Slytherin♂Half-Blood♂Reserve Beater♂Wearing♂ Josh ran out from the base of the stands, a bit winded. He mounted his broom almost instantly then flew to the sky, a fierce determination shining in his grey-blue eyes. He was ready to play. To win. Particularly against that little brat Kimberly's house. He was still angry about that, and he wasn't one to let grudges go. Maybe pummeling her housemates would be just that much more fun. He looked at all the Ravenclaws, sizing them up. He wasn't going for that redhead dude, not after watching that hit against Dominic... but perhaps the first year? Easy target, eh? With a confidant smirk, he took aim, hoping to hit Alex.

ℐirst 𝒴ear ❶ ℳuggleborn ❶ ℛavenclaw ❶ 𝒞haser This time, Alex's hands grazed the Quaffle, and it budged just a little before Eretria snatched it closer, escaping Alex's grasp. He gasped in frustration and veered off as his captain went in for a strike, succeeding. The boy followed his leader down the length of the pitch. When Chance hit Dominic with the bludger, Alex whooped. A smile slid across his face as he continued, and he didn't notice the bludger that then came careening toward him from the second-string Slytherin beater. CRACK! The ball slammed into his sternum with all the force of a brick wall. Stunned, the boy's eyes went wide. He tried to gasp for air, but he couldn't inhale. The pain reached the smallest of his bronchioles, and tears formed in his eyes. Oh. So that's what a bludger feels like, He thought to himself, the only thing he could manage to think through the pain. Moments that felt like hours passed, and finally a large gulp of air was drawn into the boy's lungs. It stung, and he worried that his sternum had cracked. Blinking back tears, he continued to follow Chase. His teammates flew through their pain, and so would he. His eyes swung around to meet with Josh's. His yearmate had caused him enough annoyance already. He'd get the boy back somehow. Now he had to focus on the quaffle.
