Adie grinned slightly as she felt his hand slide over to hers, giving it a small rub. Her cheeks were blushing furiously as she looked over to him, biting her lower lip softly. She wasn't sure exactly what she should say...and so she decided to say exactly what was on her mind.
"Look....I think I might like you...a lot. But you're just getting over Sammy and everything....I think we should just take whatever this is slow, ok? The last thing I would want is to make you uncomfortable or something." Her green eyes locked into his as she spoke, her hand slowly closing around his as she gave him a small smile. Hopefully she didn't just say something stupid...

He tried not to take it hard and responded with what came to mind immediately. "Unfortunately, things between me and her didn't work out like I had hoped for them to and it's going to take a while for me to get over that, sadly enough. At the same time, though, I like you. You're an excellent swimmer, very smart, and stunningly beautiful. In saying that, I don't want any kind of relationship right now, seeing as how I'm kind of in a transition period and I would love more than anything to take things slowly." He softly held her hand and stared deep into her eyes as they floated together.

As he said that she was smart, a good swimmer and beautiful, she blushed furiously, her eyes locking into his as he spoke. She was glad that he was agreeing with her that they needed to take things slow. She felt his hand holding hers, her thumb gently rubbing his hand as they floated along.
"So, slow sounds like a plan to me." She smiled, not being able to help it anymore, a laugh escaping her as she turned her attention back to the sky. If she woke up in the morning to find that none of this really happened...well, God had a really cruel sense of humor.

"Sounds like a plan to me too," Cody said, easily agreeing with Adie. He felt her thumb rub against his hand and it only made him blush even more. Even though they were taking it slow, tonight was incredibly romantic, no matter what anyone said. "Hey, you got a little bit of red stuff on your cheeks," he chuckled, knowing he was blushing vibrantly as well.

Adie looked over to him as he joked towards her, laughing as she brought her free hand up to try and cover her blushing cheeks. He wasn't much better it turned out as she looked at him, chuckling.
"Well, looks like I'm not the only one with a little something red on their cheeks," she said, the chill of the water, though comforting, starting to get to her. Looking towards the beach, she saw Persian laying on the beach, clearly ready to be heading back in for bed by now. Looking back towards Cody, she gave his hand a small squeeze, motioning towards the beach once more with a tilt of her head.
"You want to head back to the beach? My fingers are starting to get pruney, and Persian is giving me a death glare."

"Yeah, yeah. Save it," he chuckled and nodded in agreement with her question. "Tell Persian to come out here," Cody laughed slightly again. "Though, it's starting to get a little chilly. Let's head back."

Adie laughed as he said that Persian should come out to join them. She nodded as he said that they should head back, beginning to swim back towards the short at a steady pace to keep up with him.
"You obviously don't know Persian too well...she would sooner eat sand than jump in this water...at least I would hope she would if I was in danger or something like that." She gave a small chuckle as they headed into the shore, reaching the beach where Persian came over to her, rubbing gently against her legs. Adie leaned over, petting the pokemon on the head affectionately before running her fingers back through her wet hair pushing it from her face.
"This was really fun Cody!"

He swam with her, listening to what she had said about Persian. "Yeah, I guess you're right on that one," he laughed and shook off as he approached the shore. Spending time with Adie had been exactly what he needed to get his mind off the events of the past and present. It was time to focus on the future. A brighter future, of course. "This was alot of fun. We should do it again sometime."

"Definitely!" she said with an enthusiastic smile, pulling her hair back in a low ponytail. Rubbing the back of her neck slightly, she wasn't sure if she should kiss him on the cheek or not, so she just decided to improvise.
"Well, I better get some sleep and get this diva to bed," she said, referring to Persian with a small grin. Leaning forwards, she planted a quick peck on his cheek before feeling Persian pushing at the back of her legs towards the teleporter.
"I'll see ya around base," she said with a smile and a small wave, biting her lower lip gently as she disappeared through the teleporter and back to base. Persian walked next to her as the girl went to her room, changing into pajamas. This turned out to be one heck of a day...

"Morning Sammy," Adie said while stifling a yawn with the back of her hand as she walked into the main room. Sitting down on the couch, Houndour padded in next to her, jumping up in her lap like she was accustomed to.

Sammy tried to non-chalantly ask about the night before, but she couldn't help but smile. "So, what did you and Cody talk about?" She asked, glancing over at her. "Anything... interesting?" she grinned childishly. Adie was the only one in the team she could really "gossip" with about this sort of thing.

Adie laughed, a light blush coming to her cheeks as she busies herself with brushing Houndour's fur out.
"Well...we mostly just tried to get his mind off of everything that is going on around here and just relax. We talked about battling and stuff....harmless, right?" She glanced at the girl, wandering how she would take it if she said that she was starting to like Cody a little bit...would that be awkward?

"Awww, that's so cu~" she stopped short, for fear that it might put Adie in a difficult position. Sammy sighed, looking down at a piece of fuzz. "Y'know, I really do hope he finds someone to make him happy; now he's like a slightly younger brother to me who's a little annoying," she chuckled.
