I've been assraped into being a mechanic (after being a millionaire who won the lottery), and made so ineffective I'm barely in 2 pages of each issue of my own comic. But the House of M thing is like, issue #7 of the ongoing Black Panther series... do I just pretend that it didn't really happen in relation to the rest of the series? Or will #8 be like, "Wow, that was a weird leap into an alternate universe for some reason."

Yes, House of M is most assuredly 616. The whole purpose of it is the allow Bendis to do what he seems to do best, kill perfectly good characters for no apparent reason.
