Mahado was a bit surprised at how promptly Nanu had obeyed. He decided that she must have been very tired. He sighed and tossed a blanket over Nanu, before shifting in his chair and tried to get comfortable. Seto could see Ayira's outline as she stood on the balcony. His heard throbbed so painfully he thought it was a physical kind of hurt-- until he realized that it had just been so long since he had seen her that he almost couldn't bear it. He hadn't even realized how much he had missed her. He looked around, and saw that there were no guards. Unless she made too much noise, he figured that it would be safe...
Seto stepped into the faint light coming from within the palace. He positioned himself so that he could easily be seen-- it was risky, but he knew he couldn't get to Ayira unless he climbed the wall, which was something he couldn't do, or if he went into the palace, which was even more risky. "Ayira..." He called up softly to her, hoping this wasn't a mistake.

Ayira drowzly looked up looking around to who called her name. When she saw who it was her heart nearly skiped a beat "S-seto?" she studdered. Standing up she jumped off the balcony landing gracfully infront of him "Oh my gods it is you!" she said and hugged him tightly tears running down her cheaks.

Seto tensed when Ayira jumped, panicked at her sudden actions. He hugged her back, just as tightly. "Don't go jumping off balconies. Last time that happened you almost died." He murmured, taking in a deep breath to calm himself. She smelled the same-- he almost cried.

"I told you I would..." Seto mumbled through the kiss. He forced himself away, though inside he screamed not to let her go. "But I have to leave again. We have to leave." He was cautious of guards still. "The pharaoh... is he still angry?"

Seto tensed. Apologize? No. He couldn't believe something like that. Mainly because he didn't want to. Atem wasn't exactly a person to hold a long grudge, but... That would have meant Seto had left and hidden for that long for... nothing? "Well, it doesn't matter now. I can't stay, not after..." He broke off, not sure how to explain it. "There's no need to talk about it here, now. We need to go before someone notices."

"Alright." Ayira said and followed him away from the palace.

Seto went over to the palace walls, and then realized he wasn't exactly sure where he had left the horse on the other side. It was sure to be around here, but maybe it would be easier to sneak to the stables and get a new one. As he was considering this, he didn't hear or notice someone approaching. Atem had tried his best to get his mind off of Nanu. He had spoken to Mahado a few hours ago, who refused to tell him how it was going. So Atem had gone outside, to pace furiously in the gardens, when he saw someone climb over the gates. He didn't think to call a guard, but instead watched as the person came closer to the palace, going beneath a certain balcony. His eyes widened; it couldn't possibly be who he thought it was.
When he heard the person speak, he knew exactly who it was. Atem hid, frozen, and watched as Ayira jumped down. Their words were too soft to be heard, but he could understand the general conversation. When they started to walk away, Atem ran after the two, just as they approached the wall around the palace. "Seto! Wait!"

Seto tensed and whipped around when he heard the pharaoh call out. s**t. Where had he been? He didn't remember seeing anyone. He should have checked better. Seeing that Atem was running forward, forgetting what Ayira had said earlier about Atem being sorry, Seto thought that Atem was about to attack. He made sure Ayira was close by him as he pulled out his Millennium Rod, brandishing it wildly. Atem froze maybe fifteen feet away, cautious. "Stand back, pharaoh. I won't hurt you if you just be a good boy and stay right there." Atem's eyes widened a little at Seto's blatant threat. He had his own Millennium Item on so he was confident that he could avoid, for the most part, an attack. But he really hoped he wouldn't have to fight Seto. "Seto..." Atem looked worried; like he wasn't sure what to say. "I-- I just wanted to apologize. I regretted what I said and did quickly once you left. I don't want to be threatening. Please don't leave. We need to talk."

Seto kept his Millennium Rod pointed at Atem, but glanced over at Ayira. "I am calm." He said coolly, though he wasn't. Not really. "And don't worry. I've thought this out more than anything. I've decided that it's an impossibility for me to remain in the palace and serve under this idiot like I had before. I'd prefer to avoid any kind of conflict in my leaving, though." Atem smiled, looking bitter. He knew now what Seto must have thought for all those years. All those years when he didn't spare a thought for his priests, when he just took advantage of his cousin's loyalty. "Seto... I am sorry. You can't believe how much I mean that. I've... seen the errors of my way. But-- you can't leave! Please! I need you!" Atem wished that they were having this conversation under less threatening conditions. "You were what mainly held this kingdom up. I can't do anything on my own. I need your help!"

Seto shook his head, taking a hold of Ayira, just to make sure she was still there. "You need to learn to function on your own, pharaoh. Leave me alone. I'm not going to be apart of your followers any more." Atem's eyes narrowed, and he struggled to be calm. "If you really want to go..." He said, sadly, "Then leave. Take her with you, I don't care." He turned away, knowing this wasn't a mistake. If he really wanted to, he knew he could find Seto again. Even if he had to tie Seto up and force him to stay, he could get his priest back one way or another.
