I got a lot of stuff for graduation and people keep sending checks. It's sort of overwhelming. ^^;;; My big gifts were a Wii and a digital camera.

Nice.
This one guy I know got an acedemic scholarship.
Why is this so remarkable? The guy has Cs, Ds and Fs. And he had one B. And I think the only A he had was gym.
So he's probably the first white red-head kid to get a possibly stereotypical-based scholarship. We'll never understand how he managed that. Ahaha.

Yeah, most band kids I know get good grades. ^^;;;
My mom kept track of all the cash/checks I received. The total was just a little over $500.

My mom sent all of mine out. I just had to write the people's names on the inside envelope. I didn't even know at least half of them.

Fun, fun.
I just got home from our last concert of the year.
And it was awesome.
The other concert band somehow managed to keep steady despite having started half a beat behind Hartmetz. They never sped up or slowed down, they were just always a halfbeat off.
I'm sure more happened, but that's all I can remember from their performance.
In our performance, though, a cell phone went off right as H was about to conduct. He then turned around and did the 'Silence all cellphones now' speech. "I always forget to turn off my phone and about halfway through I'm like 'Please, nobody call me...'" and he turned back to us and said "Luckily, nobody calls me anyway..." And the audience was wondering why we were laughing on stage. XD

We get to give the Marine Corp Band Award and the John Phillip Sousa Award
John Phillip Sousa Award went to out Oboe player who was drum major for 2 years, plays piano for like 500 of our small ensembles. She so deserved it.
The Marine Corp went to our 1st chair clarinet. It shouldn't of. She is like 5th in state, done nothing for this band program except say how much better she is than everyone and play a 30 minute senior solo that nobody liked.
It should of gone to the first chair tenor sax, who is first in state, student director, pep band director, librarian, and he established a Jazz Band which won 1st in Chicago against legit Jazz Bands. They met twice after school for two half hour sessions, against people who have been like preparing for the entire year during school.
I am so mad that the Clarinet got it. Grrrrr.
