does anyone have any info on the Black Dragons chapter from the cursed 21st founding?

i've already read what it says on the GW site.

Only info I can think of is probably what came from the GW site. They are kinda messed up and grow boney spines from various parts of their body's.
They would be cool to model, you could use various tyranid sprues I suppose.
I kinda thought they where form the 13th founding or something to do with the number 13 hence the cursed thing they have going, I could be wrong though. sweatdrop

From Lexicanum:

History

Their Ossmodula zygote has mutated, producing bony crests on their heads and blades from the forearm and elbow. In a similar way to the Death Company, those with these abnormalities join a separate unit, known as the Dragon Claws. In this unit, they sharpen their protrusions to a killing edge and arm them with adamantium to turn them into horrible Close Combat Weapons. There are many in the Inquisition who doubt their loyalty and several other chapters refuse to fight alongside them, including the Dark Angels and Marines Malevolent.

It is rumoured that the Black Dragon Apothecaries deliberately encourage these growths, although this is very dangerous and is forbidden in the Imperium. When the usual 5% tithe of gene-seed is requested, they often resist giving it over, and sometimes have to be threatened with military action. When they do send it in, the veracity of the gene-seed is unknown, as each passes the most stringent tests, and some believe that this is not even the gene-seed of the Black Dragons. How this is procured is a mystery, although the Adeptus Mechanicus is eager to investigate the medical practices of the Black Dragons.

Notable battles and campaigns
* Third War for Armageddon. The Black Dragons committed 9 out of their 10 companies

Founded in the 21st founding, M36. They are suspected to be descended from the Salamanders chapter.
One of the few chapters from the 21st Founding to not be involved in the Badab war.
- End infodump-

On that note, I wanted to convert a Black Dragon for my Deathwatch team. Anyone know what 5th Edition's gonna do with Deathwatch?

As is my custom I shall tactfully wait for the rush on them to be over, then once the errata comes out and there may be some incentives I shall strike !! Muahahaha! twisted

well, i figured since i was in such a hurry to start my new BD army, i figured that would be the best place to start.

for my second troop choice, either scouts(can't remember if those are going to be troops in the new 'dex or not) or tac squad....im kind of thinking of taking scouts if they're not getting bumped into elites.

hey, guys, i was noticing something at the end of the movie enemy of the state.

watch the last 5-10 minutes of it, and tell me that the kid isn't reading a white dwarf, or some other GW publication...the back cover of the magazine clearly says gamesday....it just proved my huge nerdyness....

Scouts are still troops. They get a cool speeder transport now. Also, I got my new drop pod. Sweet mercy that thing was annoying to put together! At least one of the wings is crooked and glue dripped into the bolter turret when I wasn't looking, so now it doesn't turn... Well at least it looks better than my old drop pod.

Also, the thing won't fit in my army box.

Ah such is the way of the drop pod, be it model or home made they still suck to build. Aww well. ::sigh:: I was trying to build a snap-together drop pod for a time, like it could just slot into the other parts and stand up... but I just don't have time to engineer such a model crying

Yeah, I think the new kit could have done well with some more snapfit parts. Particularly around the wing and enine block areas.

ok, so i finally got to play my first game in like...well a long time last saturday, and well....my scouts did freaking amazing.

two scout squads pretty much did everything, the only other units that could even claim to have done anywhere near as good were my speeders and my venerable dread. which all had assault cannons...those rending shot did tear up a decent number of enemy

Scouts are uber! I have always had a warm fuzzy spot for scouts even before the update. n_n imagine the odds of a scout putting a wound on a tzeentch greater demon in CC!! blaugh
